i don’t really get the appeal in making nonhuman characters human in fan works/art. especially when them not being human is a plot point in the original? like good job you made this interesting character into the same bland species that already has 99% of stories written about them.

i mean, I get making them humanoid, as that’s a shape that’s easier to understand and work with, but there’s so much you can do without making them human

yeah there’s unresolved plot threads and stuff, that’s what Liam does. he leaves stuff up for interpretation, or future expansion. and he has stated before that he doesn’t like giving long running stories he works on sad endings.

this argument feels wrong. in basically any non-emergency work, a person should prioritize their own safety over their job. it’s when that job is (supposedly) protecting people is when it becomes a problem, as they are valuing their own safety over the safety of others

so I guess the point is right but it’s just worded wrong

cops will say they aren't cowards, they're just concerned about their own safety. so what would you call it when someone whose PAID JOB is to protect a community prioritizes their own safety over that responsibility?
