coraweek day 1 ~ memory

greed was a nasty sin. rosinante had seen them all but greed sickened him the most because he was not immune. as a boy, the memory stuck to his tongue, like dry paper, like bills, like the fortune they used to own. he'd rake fingers through gold coins, his once favorite color, like his mother's hair, like his favorite toys. the weight of it, the feel of it, addictive and comforting. he could not escape his blood. he smoked now, sated a shadow of the beast, but he still stole, and cheated, and killed, and lied. like any other sin, greed catches up, and leaves a shallow grave.

coraweek let's gooooooo 🥳 flying solo this year because atty's SUPER busy but if it weren't for them, i wouldn't have found this event, so thank you for bringing this to my attention atty!! <3

anyway, breaking a bit of the mold here with some freestyle poetry this week. it's not gonna be chronological like last year, but the angst will be constant. i'm not going to upload these to ao3 right away, but i will soon! probably when the whole collection is finished.
