Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans
A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.
COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.
P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.
The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.
Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.
Marc Henry and his family have been dealing with food insecurity for months, and are trying to get funds so they can eat, as well as supplies like livestock and fishing equipment so they can sustain themselves even after the fundraiser is done. They're close to their goal.
An elderly couple's home was damaged multiple times over the last few years and they are trying to raise funds to finish construction. They are also very close to their goal.
A fundraiser for children in Jacmel to provide food, water, and clothes.
A fund for several families to secure plane tickets out of the country
OTRAH is an organization that helps trans Haitians and wants to expand their services to combat HIV. They don't have a gofundme, instead donations are discussed over email.
There is also this thread of Haitian gofundmes which updates fairly regularly
This document explaining the leadup to where we are now also names some organizations that could use financial support

This is the worst time to give into apathy, to give into "compassion fatigue", to give into defeatism. Things are dire. So fucking dire.
Like did you know the International Court of Justice has dismissed the case against the UAE for being complicit in genocide because they lack jurisdiction? Did you also know that drones have attacked Port Sudan, where aid would enter the country? The main power station has been hit, leaving the city in a blackout!
So please make noise for Sudan. We need a permanent ceasefire and we need the UAE, along with other countries, such as Russia, Libya, Colombia, and Saudi Arabia to be held accountable. Make sure to boycott, protest, and of course, donate! How about you donate and share my friend's, Randa, @rnd8, fundraiser? She is a Sudanese living in Rwanda and she is raising funds to evacuate her family. Thankfully, her father and 3 sisters have evacuated and reunited with her, but her two brothers are still left behind in Southern Khartoum to this day!
Let's reach the 34K mark ASAP! There is €816 left to go! Plus, GFM has given an extension, but it has passed, which means the fundraiser can close at any moment! You can match me. I have given €10, but you are more than welcome to give any amount! ! !
Verification: Shared by Jin (@/jinforjustice on IG), and @/northgazaupdates!
€33,184 / €35,000
Tagging for reach. Please leave a reply if you wish to be removed. Thank you.

Thanks so much for reading this old fave of mine and leaving a comment. They definitely deserved to have these moments together and much more. He should've been at the birth of his son. Can you imagine? He was at Carl's side before he passed, and a piece of him is healed as RJ comes into the world and his arms. 🥹
Every Step
A Richonne gift for the super sweet, patient and talented @virellya who gave me this wonderful prompt: Michonne telling Rick she’s pregnant and his reaction.
Writing this made me ACHE, but I hope you like it. It’s mostly fluffy, but has some bittersweet angst, too. Set between S9E04 and S9E05. I miss these two together so much it hurts.
Rick knew bringing all the communities together would be hard, hell, almost impossible. Sometimes he wanted to shut down and let it all fall apart, because he was just so damn tired, but he couldn’t. He needed this to be the future for his family, for everyone trying to build something. For the sake of everyone who ever loved someone, who died trying to make the new world better. For Carl.
But god, was he dead on his feet. His shoulder blades ached, there was perpetual tension in his neck and lower back, and he’d been nursing a headache for almost three days. But when a message came through the radio from Nora about Michonne, every ache, every burn, and every worry faded away. He had to get her.
He felt a pang of guilt flush through him as he entered their home. Michonne had been working around the clock to not only manage and run Alexandria but studied every morning and night to build fair laws for their communities, while raising their daughter.
“Michonne,” He called out, climbing the stairs two at a time. Sweat glistened his forehead and collected at the small of his back and underarms from anxiety, because he knew she wouldn’t call on him unless Alexandria was falling apart, but the message was vague, vague enough to set his imagination on fire. ‘Michonne needs you. Says it’s urgent.’ Nora had said over the radio.
Entering the bedroom, he stilled by the door. His heart thumping so hard he could hear the echo of it in his head. “Michonne,” he said. She was sitting facing the window when he entered and simply patted the space beside her. “What?” He rounded the bed and dipped his head to find her eyes and when she looked up, his heart clenched into a tight fist. Moving to her side, he sat, wiping the tears streaming her face with the pad of his thumb. “What is it?”
Michonne sniffled, parting her lips momentarily before pressing them together.
“Should I get Siddiq?” When she didn’t answer, he rose to his feet. “I’ll get him over here,”
“No,” She finally looked at him with a quivering smile on her face. “No. I’m fine.”
Rick cupped his waist and tilted his head at her, confused. Somehow, he was missing something and Michonne couldn’t find the words to fill him in. He was doing just about everything in his power not to spiral into a panic. “You have to say something here, cause I’m-,” he rubbed his eyebrow with the back of his thumb, trying to soothe his anxiety. “I’m-,
“I’m pregnant.” She said in a quiet, and shaky voice.

So if you're in the UK you have probably heard about the proposed changes to disability benefits. If not, here is a BBC News article (link) about it, and the Big Issue (link) have been running basically non-stop articles about it since the announcement.
Crucially, the government is holding a consultation. Will as many of us as possible weighing in change the outcome? Possibly, though it's far from guaranteed. Will not filling it in help the situation in the slightest? No. So let's all have a go.
You can find the full Green Paper here: (link) and the options to respond are at the bottom of it, including the link to respond online, which is also here: (link)
It's also always worth contacting your MP to let them know what you think, if only to get a response on fancy Commons stationery. You can find your MP here: (link)
So, have at it, UK folks! (These proposals don't apply to Northern Ireland as benefits are transferred, but they are still taking NI comments and sharing them with the Department for Communities, so you may be able to influence whether this approach is taken up in NI in future, too)
And if nothing else, please reblog!
