AxA gets away with making the same crop tops and pairs of jeans for every CC pack and ppl really pay for it wow
the new pack looks really nice to me at first glance but there's a good amount of recycled items in it. by that I mean, a lot of meshes and textures that are from previous packs they've made.
items in the new pack on the left beside older items on the right. The hairs are inexcusable to me. the last one especially, it's literally the same hair as the latest one up for free on his page, just with the hairline moved over slightly. Literally doesn't even need new hair chops.
If it was free I'd have no complaints at all, but AH00B is literally making a minimum of $6,444 a month if all of his 3,222 patrons are there for his $2 early access. And if it wasn't for Ayoshi, it seems, patrons would be getting 3 hairs a month only. Can you imagine making 6K+ a month to make 3 small hair edits?
On that note though... AH00B/Austin has had me blocked since I answered this ask yesterday, saying that no one would call him out for still doing early access when it seemed EA had banned it (for fear of getting hate or blocked), without me ever interacting with him otherwise. Ironic, I know. Which was extra strange because Ayoshi and I were having a long conversation about clearing the air regarding the early access situation, and in the middle of that I realized I was blocked. I sat on it a bit, because I have to say that Ayoshi was extremely patient in his conversation with me and I truly believe he wanted to have a genuine discussion. But he is not the owner of the patreon and all the responsibility does not lie with him. Even if they are best friends, Ayoshi is not the one that should be handling this for him. And since then, Austin still has not unblocked me or made any move to indicate that he wants to discuss this with anyone or hear any sort of criticism. He has no obligation to speak with me or anyone else, but I can't understand how the air can be cleared if everyone involved isn't willing to communicate with one another, and Ayoshi was the one to reach out to me rather than the other way around.
I understand having anxiety and not wanting to be criticized. But this isn't drama. These people are running businesses, with a good amount of cash involved, but not wanting to actually manage their business. Business owners need to put out statements and hold high standards to match that of their customers, and if they don't, what happens? They go under. Even if the community itself doesn't matter to you, a time comes when you have to put your big boy pants on and do something to at least protect your income. Either by changing your model and actions or looking for another job. If EA's latest flip flopping made you panic, good. As I said in the DMs, it should be a wake-up call. And if getting criticism against your business is causing you such unrest and anxiety that you cannot eat, sleep, or function properly, you need to pause your patreon and cc making and seek help for you mental health immediately. If that's not the case, and you're still able to function here, you need to get a handle on your business.
I don't see Austin or any of the other top cc creators saying a word about any of the problems with early access, not even to call out the "bad ones" they like to point to so often to deflect from themselves. Within the past couple days, eacc creators have been sharing patron's personal information and setting crazy long "reasonable" time periods, and I haven't heard a word from any of them about it. Why? It doesn't matter to them. The community doesn't matter to them. Just like it didn't when exclusive creators were doxxing and harassing and all any eacc creator could do was say, "well that's awful, but I'm not like that, don't forget early access is okay and we're not scammers". They got more angry about someone making a list of everyone that was continuing early access, which was publicly available on each of their blogs, than they did about the list of patrons' private information being passed around. All that's important is avoiding criticism and protecting their bottom line, and it shows every time something like this happens.
It honestly makes me sad. Many of the creators that have acted the way we've seen in the past few days, are ones I previously admired. AH00B is a creator that I've downloaded almost all the cc of, and his hairs were some of the first I recolored when I first started making cc. I use his and Ayoshi's clothing often in lookbooks. But because I expressed disappointment in him and others over early access, I'm considered a hater that needs to be blocked and silenced. Sorry, but that doesn't work for me. If we can't speak privately, I have to at least make my thoughts known on my own blog.
I don't think users are getting anything better from him now that he's getting paid, than they were when he was creating for free. The content is repeatedly recycled, and not worth paying for in my opinion. There is no engagement with anyone here other than to promote patreon. I don't think he's an active member of this community whatsoever, and like I said in the DMs: these creators are not people I can consider friends or peers anymore. AH00B is not a simblr, it's a brand. Its only purpose here is to make money and nothing else. And because of that, I can no longer support it.
I highly recommend giving the full conversation a read, because I express more of my thoughts on early access and its effect on the community there. I have no ill will towards Ayoshi or Austin, but I hope that they realize the community is tired of all this. It's been drained dry, and whether any of these creators want to believe it or not, it isn't going to last much longer.

my opinion on early access (u don’t have to read, just ranting) ✨
i never really thought anything about early access before. i just assumed, oh yeah well that’s nice they can make some money for what they are doing.
until a couple days ago did i really see a glimpse into the minds of these early access creators we all know and love.
first of all, as soon as they realized they couldn’t make anymore money, they whined, pitched a fit, and blamed US. yes us, the very ones that have been giving them money this whole time, lol.
then they acted confused… like they couldn’t understand what ea’s new tou meant. (before it was changed again.) i mean it clearly stated the only way modders could make money was through donations, everything has to be 100% free. and nothing behind a paywall… which technically does include early access since at one point their cc is in fact behind a paywall. So many words were being twisted and excuses were being made just so these people could prove that they deserve to have their stuff paid for.
the sob stories were not it. with the exception of the creators who truly cannot work due to their disabilities, (you are so deeply loved and we would’ve all helped you out as much as we can if it ended up that early access was no longer available, via donations 💌)
the complaining about being homeless, not being able to pay your bills, can’t pay for your school etc… i’m sorry but aren’t we… all struggling? at least at some point? you know what helps with that though, and i hate to say it, but getting a real job. and by real I mean anything that will offer you and reliable and stable income. not some monthly tier that anyone can cancel at anytime. early access allowed or not please, PLEASE if you are a cc creator, don’t depend on this kind of stuff for all or most of your income. that is setting yourself up for complete failure.
many also shared it was just a side hustle. they work so hard everyday at their own, real, jobs, then come home and spend all their free time making cc. staying up all night, no sleep, no eating, no hanging out with their friends. listen, if you are passionate about the sims and making your own creations, i’m all for wanting to spend your free time doing that, i’m sure it’s lots of fun when you’re good at it! but the problem is that you’re complaining about it. don’t complain about how much hard work it takes because of all the time you’re spending doing it, you’re choosing to do that yourself. no one is holding a g*n to your head forcing to you to do it. maybe if you didn’t have early access set up and you actually just loved creating in your free time, you wound be able to get full nights of sleep, develop better eating habits, hangout with your friends, etc. cause you won’t feel the pressure of having perfect content released in a certain amount of time for the people paying you.
another reason i’ve never thought much about early access is because until a couple days ago, i had no idea other gaming communities had not 1 cent involved in releasing mods to their community. i guess it’s cause these people know how to balance real life and also having a passion for something. why can’t we be like them? why can’t our community love and share everything with each other like others do? why is there such a limited amount of creators that don’t want your money because they actually love and want to make this community a better place for all of us. it’s because paying for cc and mods has just became the norm, that’s why even calling out early access creators feels weird to me, but it really is true. why do you have to have money involved?
respect to those creators that stopped doing early access posts once they thought ea was banning it. it showed us you weren’t in it for the money, even though you did appreciate it. it showed us you care about your community and you respect the people you are profiting off of.
to those who pretended to be confused, i bet you think we all look dumb now, that’s fine. at the time, it didn’t look good for early access and everyone knew that, but you were too stubborn to accept it. some of you guys showed your true colors and what you see this community as.
I know early access is eventually released and it is not about that. it’s about the fact they even feel the need to ask for money in the first place. i cant believe ea let’s you guys profit off of them considering no company really allows that but that’s their decision and i will respect that. just giving my 2 cents cause this drama has completely taken up my tl

^^ Official EA twitter stating the EA help article now reflects the allowance for early access.
I’m not going to go reply to all the comments from my other posts, but I’ll tag who I can here for you to definitively see the official statement. Yes, early access is still allowed as the evidence in my stance post had already pointed to. ✌

You make cc? Why are you on the blacklist thing??
I do make cc, yes. I public as Marvell. And my cc blog is called Marvell-World https://marvell-world.tumblr.com/
Now to you second ask, what blacklist thing? I have no idea what you are talking about? Could someone tell me what this is about, please?
But wait if this is about the doxxing list, this is ridiculous, as my content is free to download from my patreon, except from when it’s in early access. So again what blacklist?

this is so fucking ridiculous i’m sorry but why is there money involved to begin with? ea should have never allowed early access at first cause it has caused so much entitlement and greediness. this shouldn’t of ever been considered a job for you! you can’t rely on a number of patreons to pay your bills that is absolutely absurd. “but i spend much time and hard work making my cc😞” that is on you!! no one is forcing you to make cc, you chose to do it in your free time! it should’ve never became anything more than free time. no modding community is like this, i almost wish they’d all just leave so we can get the og community back that was NEVER about money :/

early access is still a paywall. that post will be unlocked only for people that pay you. you were one of my favorites and i surely didn’t think you’d be one of the ones that only care about money.

On monetizing mods:
The pushback I’m seeing against EA’s no-paywalling policy is honestly…bizarre to me?
I’ve played a lot of games, but The Sims is the only one I’ve played that let other people profit off their IP. Imagine trying to monetize fanworks from any other game without the IP holder getting a cut of the profits… Bethesda? Rockstar? Blizzard? Nintendo? I’m sorry, but EA was being generous by allowing people to make money off their game assets in the first place. Other gaming companies would have just sued.
(** Any company would have a problem, not just games–imagine if EA was Disney. You can’t put so much as a Mickey Mouse silhouette on something and sell it without getting hit with a prompt cease-and-desist.)
I’m not sure if people are being purposely obtuse or if they really just don’t understand how IP laws (or user agreement contracts, which everyone who downloaded the game agreed to) work. “Don’t sell someone else’s intellectual property for a living” feels like a statement that shouldn’t need to be made. Whether you like EA as a company or not, IP laws either matter or they don’t–you can’t pick and choose when laws apply based on how you feel about the IP holder, or how much you think you deserve that money more.
It just doesn’t work like that. It never has.
As far as how this all affects the community…again: other games just don’t have this problem, so I’m not understanding the issue. Banning paywalled mods won’t hurt the community in the slightest. Skyrim modders consistently put out professional quality mods for free, because that’s just…how it is in other gaming communities? They make mods because they love the game. This monetization issue doesn’t exist for other games in the same capacity as it does for The Sims. (And even for Sims, it didn’t used to be this bad.)
In summary: EA’s newest policy update isn’t a shock, nor is it any kind of betrayal of the community. It’s just basic IP law and common sense/decency. 🤷
I understand people feel entitled to compensation for their work, but that just doesn’t apply to fanworks, and it never has. This is the wrong creative outlet for you if your primary goal is profit, in the same way fanfiction would be wrong for you. If you want to make money off making 3D models, you are perfectly free to do so on any number of sites created specifically for that. (TurboSquid, CGTrader, etc.) The Sims isn’t the place for it. Sorry.
