Panic! At the Facility - Part Two
Pathos cringed and writhed at the various pain he was subjected to over his body. He crawled as best he could, leaning back against the machine.
“…are we… fucking done here?”
Pathos gazed up, wrinkling his nose in disgust as blood further trickled down his face.
“You think you’re so fucking great you-…”
Pathos coughed loudly, sputtering as his breathing grew heavy.
“Ahhh…fuck this. Honestly. I’d rather end it here than listen to one more of this blue haired fuck’s shittalking…”
Pathos slowly slid down the machine, burying a hand behind himself into the machines innards. Suddenly, there was a sound of breaking glass.
“So before you say anything, I’m just going to fucking kill us all.”
Sirens blared loudly and red lights flashed around the room as steam bellowed out of the machine.
A loud automated voice came from the loudspeakers.
WARNING, SAFETY TRIGGERS OVERRIDDEN, MELTDOWN IMMINENT, EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY.
Pathos let his arms fall to his side as he finally relaxed himself.
“I’ll see you all in hell, have fun living in this world you hate so much.”
~~~~
Shit. Shigure recognized what button Pathos just pressed.
“Everyone, run! Elevator now!”
Shigure was not gonna wait around for anyone as she hopped to her feet and motored on over to the elevator. She waited in the open doors for everyone else to enter, holding it open for them, but not offering much time for any of them to dawdle.
“Dammit, whose idea was it to install a self destruct button??” Shigure muttered. Definitely wasn’t hers. Probably just another one of Pathos’ dumb ideas for if he didn’t get his way. If he couldn’t kill the world, he could at least kill them. What a joke.
Once everyone was in, Shigure submitted a few keystrokes into her tablet. The doors to the elevator shut and she ignored any inquiries about Pathos’ well-being. He could choke and die in his own explosion for all she cared.
Eventually, the elevator doors opened to a floor none of the other students would recognize, but Shigure did. The entrance. Nothing but white linoleum floors and tinted glass doors at the front.
She ran out of the elevator and straight to the doors. They were only locked from the outside so no trouble for her to open. She held it open for the rest of the survivors to evacuate first. She figured at this point it was the least she could do for them.
Once everyone else was out, she exited herself. With the others, she moved as far away from the building as possible. After all, there was no telling how far that bomb would reach.
And then…
BOOM!
Panic! At the Facility - Part One
Pathos glanced around the room as all of the others bar one voted against him, against a world of peace and against the world he had worked so hard to protect.
“…so this is how it’s going to be?”
Blood trickled down his forearm and dripped on the floor below him. The strong gusts of wind bellowing around the trial grounds are the only sounds that could be heard.
“You know… my initial hypothesis was that if I only gave you all a chance, perhaps you would understand my goals, and help create a better world for all of us. Well, I guess I proved that to be a negative…”
“But then…I guess that’s what’s expected of research, isn’t it? Lots of failures…but that’s why we LEARN from our mistakes.”
Pathos’ head moved quickly between each of the remaining students, as he took in a deep breath, clutching a small black syringe in his hand.
“So. Be. It.” With a flash and a bang, a large cloud of ashy smoke briefly flooded the area, quickly dissipated by the strong winds…Pathos was now standing in the elevator. He flipped everyone off as the doors quickly closed behind him.
~~~
“God, what a brat,” Shigure muttered as Pathos essentially had a meltdown and ran off like a child. But in spite of her annoyance, she was slightly concerned. If he was doing what she thought he might be doing…
“Everyone, follow me. I think I know where he is. And I don’t know what he’s planning, but whatever it is, we can’t let his crazy ass get away with it.”
She walked over to the elevator and pressed the call button. Thankfully, it opened up right away. God bless fast elevators.
“Everybody in. Don’t make me wait or we’re leaving without you and then you’ll be trapped up here forever.”
At her words, everybody scrambled into the elevator, Shigure entering last. She typed a few things in her tablet and the elevator doors shut. It began to move.
Everything was just awkwardly silent as they waited, no doubt because they were cramped in a tight space with the person who’d trapped them all in this hell.
Shigure reaches out her hand to grab Takeshi’s, but only managed to brush hers against his before the elevator doors opened once more.
Everyone rushed out into the open. Now where could Pathos be? Loud noises could be heard echoing out from the Plan B Room. It seemed Pathos wasn’t even trying to be subtle about it.
Shigure led the group forward, straight into the Plan B Room. Pathos stood right by the giant machine, holding something strange in his hands and fumbling around with it. At their entrance, his head snapped up to attention.
“Hmf, Well, that was fast, if only you all cared that much when one of the others were dying. I’m sure you could of stopped them, not that any of you fucks CARE.” Pathos proudly held the small vial close to his chest. It contained a dull red liquid and it looked murky.
“Well, you will have all the time in the world to bask in death. This machine I was going to use to spread my cure, well now that opportunity has passed. So now? Tough love. This… this right here is deadlier than any disease, any pathogen, ANYTHING. You know how we get drug resistant bacteria? By attacking the bacteria with antibiotics until one develops a resistance… think of that as the way the world’s going to go now. *Only the strong will survive, only they. ONLY THEY will be able to fix. THIS. WORLD.” Pathos shoved the vial into the machine! He’s going to activate it!
~~~
What a half-assed plan. Destroy the world and humanity just because he didn’t get what he wanted? Just like a brat having a temper tantrum. She wouldn’t. She couldn’t let him do this!
“You absolute monster!” Shigure exclaimed. “You’re so goddamn selfish! You’re going to destroy the world just because? What a joke! You’re no better than a comic book villain and I’m not letting you destroy everything and everyone! I won’t let you soil the few good things, the few good people the world has to offer.”
She turned to look at the others.
“Everyone. Stop him at any cost!”
Shigure ran forward first. Hey, had to put her money where her mouth was. She tried to grab the vial from Pathos’ hand, but even with her modest muscle mass, it wasn’t enough. Not when she was alone. Pathos’ elbow connected with her mouth during the struggle, knocking her to the ground and causing blood to pool out of her mouth.
From her position on the floor, Shigure landed a harsh donkey kick to his shin. This was enough to take Pathos off balance as Takeshi and Kenji rushed forward next to try and yank the vial from his hands. But Pathos was stubborn. He wasn’t willing to just let go. In vain, he attempted to wriggle out of their connective fighting effort. During the struggle, he failed to notice Liya holding his leg out to literally sweep Pathos off his feet. Pathos collided on the ground, hard, but still held onto the vial, curling up into himself and literally crawling towards the machine.
“TOWA, grab him!” Shigure exclaimed.
She obeyed the order. Towa managed to stop him. Using Kiki, Towa yanked Pathos by the back of his lab coat and away from the machine.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone…”
Kiki let go of Pathos, which gave him just enough time to scramble to his feet.
“SCREW YOU ALL!” Pathos took a step towards the machine and…
He began convulsing and collapsed to the ground, the vial rolling out of his hands in the process. Akiyuki grabbed the vial as he sheathed Psyche’s taser in his pocket once more.
“Are we done here?” he asked.
Begone Pathot: The Sequel 2: Electric Boogaloo || Shigure || Trial 6.17 || Re: Pathos
Shigure just ignored Pathos. She expected that kind of a response from him anyway. He was so unstable, he couldn’t be trusted to handle anything well.
“I’m sorry we lost Psyche, but that thing was an abomination. Since Psyche’s no longer around to study them, the only smart thing to do is delete it. After all, it may sound like a real person, but we don’t know how much the machine has changed them. We don’t want a Terminator situation coming out of this. You might think me cruel or inhumane, but I think that’s what the real Psyche would’ve wanted, plus…”
“Seeing Pathos lose it like was definitely worth it. Look at him squirm and freak out. Is that really what you’re going to put your trust in? For the sake of your humanity and your own lives, execute Pathos and leave with me. I have no delusions about making it out of this situation punishment free, by the way. I fully expect to be handed over to the authorities on the outside, but until then, work together with me and put a stop to this madness.”
Shigure typed a few things in her tablet and a small chirping sound could be heard from everyone’s podiums.
“I’ve unlocked the option to execute Mathias…of course, you have the option to kill me as well, it’s only fair, but everyone in this room is someone I’m happy survived. So I trust you’ll all make the right decision, no matter how betrayed you still might feel by me.”
Begone Pathot: The Sequel || Shigure || Trial 6.16 || Attn: Pathos
“Just look at you standing over there, sharing your sob story like anyone’s going to feel sorry for you at this point? So your girlfriend died from a rare disease and got screwed over by the other greedy researchers? So what? Do you even know how many people have been screwed by the healthcare system? Do you think you’re special? If you really even cared about her, you would’ve found new people to work with since the other ones clearly weren’t working out.”
“And you really want to stand there and claim to be a hero, huh? That you’re doing this for the sake of the world? You must be one of those freaks that thinks the good of the many outweighs the good of the few. And you think you’re some kind God out here to save humanity from themselves. Humanity will never change. They’re evil. You infect them with that stuff, do you know what will happen? One of two things: the first is that you’ll inspire people to do stuff alright, they’re just gonna go ahead and make the world even worse than it already is. Or, the more likely option, you’ll just turn the whole world into an army of Tadashi’s. Pathetic, whimpering, and never does anything. Everyone’s gonna gonna hide themselves away because guess what, dumbass? People don’t just up and do shit because they’ve been traumatized. For the most part, they’re too afraid to do anything anymore. If you really called yourself a scientist, you’d already know that, but you’re just a fraud. You’re no more scientific than Victor Frankenstein. Your creations are gonna bite you in the ass and you’ll deserve it.”
“You claim that I’m the one who wants to hurt everyone around me because life dealt me a bad hand, but aren’t you doing the exact same thing? Throwing a temper tantrum and taking it out on the whole world just because your girlfriend died.”
“But you know what? It’s pretty clear you miss her, so I’ll show you some kindness.”
Shigure held up her tablet, typed in a few keys, and waited.
There was silence around the trial room, until…a soft voice from the tablet.
“What’s going on…?”
…
Pathos’s heart raced. It had been so long, but he knew. From the light tone of her angelic voice, it was her.
P “D-darling? Is…. Is it really you?”
“M-Mathias? Is that you?!… It is you! I don’t know where you are… but I can hear you! I know you’re there darling!“
Within seconds, sobbing came from both Pathos, and the tablet.
P “I… h-how is this happening? Is this some sort of Joke?”
“No darling! I remember now…I remember everything! Before I…. um…. passed… Psyche said she was going to help me try and retain my mind so that I didn’t have to leave you!…. But…. um, well I remember it hurting a lot and then…. um, well I don’t know how long it’s been but…. thinking of you has helped, and now… knowing you’re here has made it all worth it!
Pathos froze. Stumbling to his feet, he staggered over to the tablet, completely oblivious to the fact that Shigure still held it in her hands.
P “She did…. What? I don’t…. I don’t remember…. She never…..”
“It’s okay darling! What matters is that we’re both here now!… I-i’m so happy i’m sorry, i’m crying even more n-now… but they’re happy tears!”
P: “I…. I suppose you are correct, she’s not hear right now anyway…. I’ve…. I’ve been busy with…. things you see darling…. I’ve finally completed what I set out to do with the last words you ever told me.”
“You can change the world.”
Pathos was grinning like crazy, and smiling, as large tears rolled down his cheeks.
P: “E-exactly darling, I’m going to change the world, and with you here…. w-we can be together again in the world we deserve! In the world YOU Deserve!”
More crying came from the tablet. “Oh darling, I never had any doubt… I… I love you so much“
Pathos laughed loudly and wrapped his arms around himself, joyously.
After that whole conversation, two lovers reunited, how sweet!
Shigure smiled slightly, “Satisfied? Reunited after all this time. Really, you have your sister to thank. She’s on the MAPEM too. Shame you won’t be able to talk to her.”
“Ah- but surely she uploaded herself too-”
It was a fraction too long that Pathos took to think what Shigure was implying. He failed to even get a grasp of the tablet himself.
"Shigure typed a few commands into her tablet and said, “Because I just deleted everything in there.”
Pathos ripped the tablet out of Shigure’s hands as his eyes scanned the surface and his hands desperately clawed at the screen.
He yelled out, screaming at the top of his lungs, but only barely able to choke out a word.
“DARLING!”
There was no response. There were no names.
KB, Psyche, The remainder of the students whose minds were on the MAPEM were all gone.
Protect Takeshi || Shigure || Trial 6.15 || Re: Takeshi
“…Of course it wasn’t fake. Not all of it.”
Man, this was the hardest part of this all. If there was one reason she never would’ve wanted to get caught, it was that she had to see such a sad expression on Takeshi’s face.
“You may not believe me, but…Akiyuki can attest, I do love you. I fell in love with that honesty of yours. You may be brash and you don’t think things through and you’re always rushing ahead, but you’re always honest with me. You’re nothing like all those liars who’ve used and tormented me…you’re special. I know what we have is over now, but everything I told you was the truth. I wish we’d met before I became an idol. Then maybe things would’ve been better.”
You Have Been Stopped || Shigure || Trial 6.14 || Re: Pathos, Liya, Akiyuki
This dumbass, actually thinking she was going to go forward to the public with this research like she was some kind of moron. Of course not. It’s like he forgot there’s a whole seedy underbelly for her to utilize. Or, of course, he never thought about it to begin with. Underestimating her to the very end.
“…You want to call me a nutcase? At least I didn’t murder someone over a stupid ring,” Shigure scoffed. “I didn’t murder someone over a shitty, replaceable ring from a person who’s already dead.”
Shigure scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest. He sure had a lot to say about her when he was throwing a whole temper tantrum and acting like a little kid. Brats were better ignored.
She looked at Akiyuki.
“…I never hated you, you know. You were just a nuisance with how smart you were. To be honest, I’m surprised you never bought a recorder and recorded one of our many conversations. But yes, I don’t hate you and I never did. I only wished for your death so you wouldn’t get in my way, but considering that I’ve been exposed, that feeling no longer stands. In fact, I’m glad you lived. Someone like you dying would’ve been a huge waste.”
Then to Liya. Just a few words.
“Thank you for trusting me.”
Begone Pathot || Shigure || Trial 6.13 || Re: Pathos
“…”
“Oh, huh? Are you finally done trying to absolve yourself of any guilt and acting like a hentai protagonist? Good, your voice was getting grating so it was hard to sleep through it.”
She yawned.
“Well, since Mathias isn’t gonna say anything until I do like a child, I guess I’ll go first. My goal was just a simple experiment. I want to see what makes Hope’s Peak students so special, so I aimed to see how they’d respond to trauma as opposed to regular high school students. But why would I, an idol, do this? Because it was my only choice, of course. I’m trapped in my contract until I’m 25 and what happens then? Let’s say I go to school for the scientific career I’ve always wanted. It wouldn’t matter. No one would take an idol seriously. This was my way to make a name for myself, ethical or not.”
“Of course I know what I’ve done is wrong. I am no better than any other human on earth. Cruel, selfish, and self-absorbed. I know that my actions are horrible and unforgivable, but I’ve been used by people every day of my life. I’m never been anything more than a tool to be used by others. I’m just doing the same.”
“Well, you’ve heard my motivations. So let’s hear what Mathias has to say about all of this. Go on, tell them all. By the way, I finished my goals ages ago. I would’ve let you all go a while ago if Mathias and Victoria had finished their own experiments, so if you want to blame anyone for still being here, you can blame him. So don’t you dare sit there on your high horse and try to make me out into the bad guy. At least I know what I’ve done is wrong and I’m not denying otherwise, unlike you who wants to go around pretending to be some anti-hero tormenting a bunch of teenagers for the sake of humanity or whatever bullshit you have to say. To be honest, if I had to guess, your motivations are just that you get sexual gratification from watching the suffering of teenagers.”
Hoo Boy || Shigure || Trial 6.12 || Re: Everyone
Well, that was a lot directed towards her at once. She could only hope to get through this by addressing everything one by one, otherwise she’d never get through this. She’d start with Kenji, since he was the one who first reacted.
“…To be honest, I don’t really think those twelve deaths were worth all that much anyway. Most of humanity is disgusting and doesn’t get any pity from me, the people here are no exception. Shall I go down the list? Ambrose McCoy. He selfishly ignored the pain of his younger brother for his own wishes and only ever thinks about his own self. Duck McCoy. Instead of literally doing anything else like, oh, I dunno, talking to the Hope’s Peak selection committee about what’s his name’s bullying, he just permanently blinded a person and expected us all to feel sorry for him just because he was bullied. Hiroto Kaoru. He’s a literal terrorist.
"Jin Shun. She was annoying and self-righteous even though she’s just as flawed as literally every other person on earth. Kouki Fujimoto. Do I even have to spell this one out for you? Madoka Abe. He was a worthless idiot who made everyone’s life more difficult by existing. Ryu Hotaru. He was just a dick to every single person. Shizuka Hayashi. Stupid, worthless, boring. Next. Yuuya Yonezawa. All she ever did was cry and writhe in anxiety and make everyone else feel anxious by existing. Oh, and I almost forgot, what’s her face, the one who just died. Not Nanami, the other one, with the bandages. Yeah, she’s not even worth remembering. All she ever did was cry and whimper over everyone, stuttering and stammering and just begging everyone to take care of her and feel sorry for her.”
“Do you actually expect me to feel sorry for any of these people? Because I really don’t. For some of them, their deaths actively make the world a better place. And for others? Well, they won’t be missed, now will they? To be honest, I think everyone who actually deserved to live is standing in this room right now. Well, with one exception.”
She glanced at Pathos.
Moving onto Liya next.
“Liya…you might not believe this, but…it wasn’t all fake. That person you talked to existed a long time ago, before my personality was warped by Satsuki Haruno. But I…I do care about you. And I’m not happy to see you break down either. To be honest, when I made that deal with Akiyuki to protect you, that was also for my own benefit as well. I never would’ve let a genuinely good person die in here.”
She skipped over Takeshi since he didn’t even seem emotionally present at the moment. She could deal with him later. Then Towa next, who seemed to be weirdly kissing up to her now. Must be the new Psyche in Towa’s eyes.
“You can just call me Shigure. That’s always been the name I preferred. Not that fake ‘Mermaid Ran’ bullshit. As for my motivations, well, that’s always the question, isn’t it? You want to know why I put you all through something like this, but…”
“Yuki’s right. Isn’t there someone here we should be dealing with first? Mathias Mallory. The reason everything even went this far to begin with. The reason his own sister died. That ugly, sack of shit over there. Yuki’s right. I’m ready to end you for all you’ve done, you traitorous, disgusting predator. You can figure out what you want to do with me once that vomit inducing animal is gone. Hey, Mathias, guess what? I’ll bet KB killed herself because the thought of a future with you was so much worse than death.”
Wellp || Mermaid Ran? || Trial 6.11 || Re: Akiyuki || Attn: Everyone
“Come onnn, already. None of this is any real evidence against me. Are you just gonna take Akiyuki’s word for it?”
“I mean, I bet he’s just doing this to cover for the real Mastermind, Liya. It would make sense since Akiyuki is soooo in love with them. Of course they’d do just about anything to cover for Liya. It makes sense, right? It makes sense. The Mastermind here can’t be me. Those papers were obviously planted. It’s sooo obvious. Do you really think sweet, innocent Mermaid Ran could ever do something so horrible?”
“Quit bullying me so much. Don’t you think this is going too far? Don’t you think the jokes gone on long enough? Enough already, let’s just skip straight to the voting and vote for Towa or Liya. Does it really even matter which one we end up executing? It’s one of them anyway…pfft.”
“Wow, I can’t believe I actually managed to almost fool you guys with this ruse. That’s so funny. If Towa hadn’t fought so hard for her life, I would’ve succeeded! Well, not like I would’ve just let her die for me. That’d be a pretty lame way to go and I think Psyche would frown on me from her grave.”
Ran stood up straight, a soft expression on her face, one suitable for an idol and entirely juxtaposed against the deranged expressions just moments before. She looked over everyone, making a silent request. Though of what, nobody could possibly know. Ran pulled out her blackout button and pressed her palm against it. The lights in the facility went out entirely.
The blackout lasted the full ten minutes, regardless of any tricks Pathos might’ve tried to pull in that time. After ten minutes, the lights flashed back on. Everyone was still present and accounted for in their spots, except…
“Well. You figured it out. Not like it was going to be a challenge for any of you considering Akiyuki’s known about me and who I am for weeks now. Really, there’s no way you actually could've failed. Not that I care. I was just doing this whole trial business instead of outright admitting it for fun.”
Dang, Fetch, Oh My Heck || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.10 || Re: Towa
“You want to know my ‘plans’?” Ran asked. “My only plans are finding the Mastermind and escaping from this awful place. My plans are to go home and hug my sister after so long of not seeing her. Those are my 'plans’ right now. And you’re right, Pathos and Psyche did get in the way of those plans, because they’re the ones who’ve been keeping us here against our will.”
“Also, Towa-chan, you cut yourself off there. You wouldn’t dare say things like that, because she would…what? Because what? What’s the reason why you wouldn’t say something like that, hmmm? You just say you wouldn’t say something like that, but are we just supposed to take your word for it?”
“And anyway, those papers…none of you have any proof that those mean anything to me.”
Hmmm || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.8 || Re: Towa, Akiyuki || Attn: Towa
Ran couldn’t believe this. She really couldn’t. Towa turned against her like that for the stupidest of reasons and then Akiyuki didn’t really help that much with his ‘defense’. The only person here who actually defended her after all that were Kenji and Takeshi.
“Isn’t it obvious by now that some of that stuff was used to frame me already? Of course I hate Satsuki, but I can tell you she’s not the woman in that picture. Satsuki is a redhead. She’s never had brown hair for as long as I’ve known her. Besides, we all have people we hate. For all we know, that woman could be Kenji-chan’s birth mother or someone related to the man who destroyed Towa-chan’s hands. Just because I have someone I hate doesn’t mean that picture belongs to me… And as for my 'grades’, have you not been paying attention? You all know how terrible my record label is by now. They pay the school to get me those grades. It's cheating. I never earned any of those on my own.”
“And you, Yuki-chan! I already told you a million times I was afraid of getting in trouble with Psyche during that game! You’ve seen what these scientists are willing to do to us just for their own twisted reasons. I mean, have you forgotten about how Psyche used Kouki in her torture experiment or how Pathos murdered Nanami for touching his ring? Excuse me for being cautious and not wanting to get punished!”
“And you Towa-chan? Don’t you think you’re being a little bit too obvious here? I mean, first you say that the person in that picture is related to Liya-chan and now you’re accusing me with the weakest evidence imaginable? What do snacks and good grades prove? Absolutely nothing. It’s pretty obvious you just want to get the attention off yourself through any means necessary. Now isn’t that suspicious? Why don’t you just admit the truth already, Towa-chan?”
Excuse?? || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.7 || Re: Liya
“…”
“What do you mean my secretive information isn’t in there?” Ran sniveled. Whether Liya intended it or not, they were sounding accusatory here. As though her secret was somehow lesser than the others. “How can you even say that? How is being drugged against my will and physically assaulting someone not a terrible secret? How is being crazy not a terrible secret? Only crazy people have to take medicine like that! That’s what Satsuki said!”
“Maybe it doesn’t matter to someone like you, Liya, but do you know what would happen if that information got out? Everyone would think I’m just some deranged, violent maniac! Do you even know how horrible that was for me? So how can you stand there and say that my secretive information wasn’t revealed!”
The Photo || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.6 || Re: Kenji, Towa
Ran sighed heavily. She didn’t feel like they were any closer to figuring out who the Mastermind was and Towa wasn’t going to just give in either.
“That photo definitely looks personal and all, but we have no way to prove who, out of all of us, that even belongs to. There are, like, millions of brunettes in the world and it’s not like we can even judge her based off her hair color. I mean, we don’t even know if that person is physically related to the Mastermind at all. Is there anything else we should focus on? It doesn’t seem like there’s any evidence that points to a specific person here, so…so maybe we should just vote already and guess.”
Hair Color || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.5 || Re: Kenji
“Well, it probably means the Mastermind has a really recognizable hair color…or the actual Mastermind wants us to think that. Honestly, there’s so much framing going on here that it’s hard to to tell what is and isn’t truth anymore.”
“To be honest, I think the only people here who haven’t really been framed are Yuki-chan, Takeshi, and Kenji-chan. I don’t know what that actually means though… Does that mean that…the people who haven’t been framed should be more suspicious, or should we keep looking at Towa-chan?”
Nyoho? || Mermaid Ran || Trial 6.4 || Re: Akiyuki
Ran sighed and said, “I’m not convinced it’s Towa-chan, but it does make sense. The desk chair is adjustable and the white piece of fabric could’ve come from somewhere else, but…to be honest, I’ve been having this theory for a little while now.”
“First off, the mirror on the back of the door isn’t as easy to adjust and it was average height. It would probably be too tall for someone like me and too short for someone like Liya-chan, but it would be perfect for someone of Towa-chan’s height. Also! There was the other journal entry, about how Kouki was killed. In that entry, the Mastermind mentions they let Kouki go, just to see how everyone would react. That implies that the Mastermind was someone who voted for Kouki’s innocence in that trial, and Towa-chan was one of the people who did.”
She paused to take a deep breath. “Lastly, doesn’t there seem like there’s way too much evidence pointing at Liya-chan being the Mastermind? I mean, there are all those hair supplies and even the dye. I think Towa-chan knew she was suspicious and tried to frame Liya-chan.”
