Maybe I'm going to say something stupid or maybe something obvious, but just hear me out!! =͟͟͞͞\( ᐙ )/

I mentioned a while back that I have a headcanon that the planets speak their own language, since it would be weird if they spoke one of Earth's. However, the show often makes jokes or mentions of Earth things that the characters could not know about. It's possible that Mars or Venus know about this because they interact closely with Earth, but how does Callisto know what a football team is, or how do Neptune's moons know what cheese is? I can suggest that it was done this way for us, the viewers, to amuse us, but in reality these characters by one phrase or another, meant something that only they understood.

Same with their names. To think that they lived billions of years without names, and then when intelligent inhabitants appeared on one of the planets, they started to indulging their fancies, is at least strange. I drew a picture where the young Sun gives the Earth a name, so yes, I believe that their names were given to them by the Sun at their birth and they call each other by that names. The Rocky planets laugh at the name of Venus only because EARTHLINGS call him that and it is funny, considering his personality, but in their space language he has a different name.
