it is valid how erebus gets the jock/party boat distinction and terror gets depression boat distinction because of the vibes of their captains + wardroom officers. but i'd argue that in reality the dichotomy is not as clear-cut when you consider some of the non-wardroom happenings. for example. the birthday party cuddle pile happened on terror. the only canonical and textual fucking happened on terror. blanky (most jock, least depressed guy on the entire expedition) is on terror. both of erebus' surgeons killed themselves
