I’ll be taking the exam on Sunday. I feel so anxious :(((
Benildean Entrance Exam Experience & Tips (BEEET)
Feb 15, 2015 - It’s exam📝 day,emotions are mixed as I get ready for the upcoming hours. Me and my mom left the house at 5:30am since we’re from Quezon City. Just consider the numerous stops of the FX to get passengers,the stoplights at Taft Avenue and my bladder—the travel seemed too slow. Thank goodness we got on time but when I got there,my exam room was called and some room changes were made. So I was confused at first but wew,I met this girl and turns out we’re on the same exam room. A big deal for me because I’m really shy.
Anyways,let’s get to the point. Once you get there,the examiner will give time for you to use the bathroom and stuff so if you wanna pee then GO. He/she will explain the rules and regulations for the exams and then you’ll be answering the test. English and Math,no Science so Science-haters unite! 🎉 But Math-haters would crumble. The Math part got many items on a very limited time so one tip;if the problem will take time to solve because of the long formulas and processes;skip it and get back to it if you still have time. I skipped the complicated fractions and ‘solve-the-equation’ parts and I found out the easy questions we’re in the middle. The mean,median and mode parts are on the last page. (Parang wala pala akong nakitang geometry,trigo lang;sa geometry pa naman ako nag-focus.)
In English,just read the questions very carefully;you’ll never know. I already read on some forum that you should review the parts of a check but since I got limited time reviewing I didn’t,but maybe you should. That’s a sure 3 points na din. 👌 Nanghula nga lang ako dun eh. The next tests are all about Aptitude,just your logic and reasoning. First two parts,I guess,are all about English—just the verb agreement and stuff. For the number-letter series,just scribble the alphabet so you can count easily,a tip from the same forum above. The next parts are the numbers and shapes. For me,this part of test is easy but I had some difficulty in the ‘Topography’ part where it’s about dots and where the shape intercept it or something like that,can’t explain it! But you shouldn’t be so sure because you’ll never know what the results will be. Always be humble. 😌
NOTE: The exam next year might change so this tips and guide could be erroneous,like any other guides.
Tips on reviewing: Ano,di ko alam lalagay ko dito lol. Just review your high school lessons,don’t focus much on complicated stuff and of course,pray. Kapag hindi ka natanggap,may dahilan ang Diyos. Sorry if trying too hard to advice,eh hindi ko nga alam kung makakapasa ako but think positive. Ariel out. 👋

Road to College Life (featuring DLS-CSB and FEU)
De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, also known as DLS-CSB, is one of the prestigious universities founded by the De La Salle brothers. To be quite honest, I was never familiar with this particular university. That's why when my Dad suggested that I take the BEE (Benilde Entrance Exam) I felt slightly irritated because I thought my Dad could care less if I attended a school that wasn’t included in the list of top universities. My dream school is actually iAcademy (I am planning to take AB in Animation, by the way) but the tuition fee is far too expensive. So I had no choice but to settle for the next best option, and that is to try my luck at Far Eastern University. It was all settled. I just had to take care of my online application form and pass the exam, that was the plan. That was the plan, until my Dad received a phone call from one of my Aunts. Little did I know that my “College plan” would change because of that one phone call.
My Aunt told him about Benilde and their state of the art facilities. She told my Dad how Benilde could help hone my abilities, that it was the perfect university for art students like me. After asking a few more questions regarding Benilde, my Dad hung up and went to convince me to take the BEE. It didn’t seem like I had much of a choice, so I begrudgingly went and looked the school up. My initial reaction after reading a lot of reviews about Benilde was: Wow. I need to study here. I literally have never felt such emotions -- a mixture of excitement and desperation. So I downloaded all the forms, plus the extra requirements needed for students who transferred schools, and then I went on my way to complete them. Let me tell you something about Benilde’s application requirements, they’re a lot of work, especially since there are endless school work to finish and an NC2 to prepare for. But still, I pushed through. The only thing in my mind that time was that if I can’t attend my first dream school, then I’ll make sure to attend my second.
So now here I am. I encountered a lot of problems with my application forms. They actually almost rejected my form because I forgot to have my copy of grades from Grade 11 stamped with the school’s dry seal (WARNING: DLS-CSB is VERY strict when it comes to the required application forms and extra requirements. Make sure to double-check everything before you submit them!!!) Good thing they reconsidered though and gave me my Benilde Application Kit and test permit. So now, I’m just waiting for my scheduled entrance exam. I heard it was easy, but I doubt I could pass the Math part of the exam since I really suck at Math. But anyway, I’ll keep this updated for those who are planning to take the BEE in the future. Wish me luck!!!
P.S I’ll be writing about my experiences in FEU after I take the FEU-CAT.
