I've been listening to a lot of 70s/80s music lately, and I can't stop thinking about being serenades as like cheeky flirting between couples

sirius serenading remus with "I Was Made For Loving You" by Kiss, on the dance floor, at a party, the crowd goes wild, peter faints

cannot believe i haven't seen anyone doing this but JAMES serenading LILY with "Take A Chance On Me" by ABBA, like i've seen so many people characterize him as an ABBA lover and that song is so them, even funnier if he sings this to her after they're already dating

I love this a lot for Jilypad, Sirius and Lily dancing in the kitchen as he sings "More Than A Woman" by the Bee Gees while James is cooking while watching them and having heart palpitations

this works so well with Sirius and James cause they are the most likely to serenade their partner just like casually

I also think Barty would cause he thinks it's funny, but I haven't found a song that strikes me as very him yet

and i can see a few others, specifically remus or lily, kinda sweetly singing to their partner, in a much softer moment. like the song is playing and their singing along but also at their partner

i have a lot of thoughts on this

i love rosekiller cause i headcannon that barty is like tall and lanky and skinny like just a beautiful skater boy and evan is shorter and he’s not exactly stocky but he is muscular and sturdy and can just toss barty around and throw him over his shoulder or more often, shove him off of his perches, and barty LOVES it he loves that he can drape his entire body weight over evan and evan is just sturdy and dgaf like barty being all over evan constantly??? and evan just like supporting him???

i could talk a lot about this frankly and also in my mind they are both beaters on the slytherin team

Fleamont and Euphemia moved to the UK as adults, so James grew up speaking mostly Punjabi at home, his parents never being particularly confident in their English skills and being much more comfortable speaking in their mother tongue.

So whilst he is fluent in English, occasionally he will forget a word or phrase and he will say it in Punjabi first. This happens a lot in first year especially, and again at the beginning of each school year as he adjusts after a summer barely speaking English.

The other marauders find this hilarious so over time it becomes a game for them where James will act out the word charades style for everyone to try to guess.

When Regulus moves in with the Potters and joins the group, he initially doesn't want to join in the game but very quickly becomes unbeatable.

Everyone just assumes that it's just one of those things he's good at because he's weirdly clever so they don't question it too much.

Until one day James overhears Regulus talking to Fleamont in fluent Punjabi and he realises he learned a whole language, just so that his parents can have one more person in their home that they can speak to in their own language.

That is the day James Potter starts to fall in love with Regulus Black
