Rachel couldn't even begin to imagine the kind of dangerous things she could find. Not used to the kind of life style in which you have to pay attention to every little detail to survive, she would probably get herself killed in any moment, and she wouldn't even notice. The few things she knew were things she had learnt in Animal Planet, or those few times she had tried camping and learnt which berries should be eaten and which not.
For a moment, she expected that Wiress would stop her or something, considering the older woman knew way more than her, but it didn't happen. Rachel wanted to help anyway, she didn't want to become a burden or anything, and more than anything, she actually wanted to survive, so maybe it was good that she went to pick up some berries.
"Oh! Of course, I think I can help with that!" She answered, partly relieved that she wouldn't have to wander around all alone, and partly frustrated because she wanted to be useful. "Yes, I think I can manage, and if not, I'll learn!" It sounded easy enough for her, but maybe it wasn't.
"Twice?! Oh goodness, that sounds horrible". She made a pause, not quite sure how to ask the next thing. "...is it, you know, that bad? B-because it seems like you learned quite a lot, yes! But it souns like the kind of place you wouldn't want to be in". In her mind, it should be something like those things the Romans did, and that was bad enough. But Rachel had no idea how it was in reality.
There's a huge audience this night!
Sadly for Rachel it would take a lot more than those courses to survive. While they were helpful to a point, they weren’t nearly enough in order to navigate unknown terrain safely, let alone survive. You needed special training or at least learn the basics. Wiress learned that the hard way from the training before the Games.
“Good, you don’t know what will be out there.” It was true; there could be anything from deadly plants, insects, animals and other creatures which Wiress didn’t care to think about. Perhaps it would be best if they went together? Wiress didn’t want Rachel to get lost or hurt, or get the wrong things they would need to survive. Plus she could teach the young girl what she knew so that she would be better prepared.
“How about we finish putting this together?” she suggested, gesturing to the project she was currently undertaking. “These are basics you should know, so it would be best to go through them…” she trailed off, the knot Wiress was working on taking all her attention from the conversation at hand.
Until they got to the arena.
“…yes. Twice,” Wiress replied, not wanting to go into it but knowing that Rachel wouldn’t stop asking questions until she got all the answers. “I’ve learned some things that will help us in this place.” Her voice was even, an intelligent air seeping through as she went back to making their shelter for the night.

second solo ☆ never eat random eggs [open | easter]
Ah! Arcadios was almost like a stage itself, changing every once in a while. It was surprising how the place was easter like now. Well, at least that Sophia goddess had good taste when it came to decorations. It was only the colours though, because everything was where it should be. The market was still there, her house was still there, the only thing that actually changed was that chocolate river she had never seen. But maybe she hadn't noticed, or never went to that place before.
She wondered what else was different in Arcadios, or what other surprise she could find, until she saw it...
There it was. A nice, yummy purple egg waiting for her! Not only she liked purple quite a lot, but also the egg was almost asking her to eat it! And she did exactly that, she took a bite of the chocolate egg and it was just delicious. She still felt hungry though, so she decided to get some food, especially what she was suddenly craving, oh yes, she would like to eat a piece of... meat?!
Wait a moment. Was she craving meat?! Oh no, that was terrible. She was a good vegetarian! No, it couldn't be that. Maybe she just needed to eat something else, anything. Going to the chocolate river once again, she decided to take some of it. Was it even edible though? It looked like chocolate, but maybe it wasn't.
"Excuse me, do you know if this is edible? It looks like chocolate, but I could be wrong." She asked a random person close to the river. Hopefully it was and she could have some and end that terrible craving.

Who the hell she was. Who the hell she was?! Really?! Who the hell was him to treat her like that?! Rachel had been everything but impolite to him. She had treated him like the gentleman she thought he was, but it was obvious that she had been wrong. He was just a very rude person.
"Hmph! Why should I even tell you my name if you're going to act like that? I'll have you know that was very rude, and if you can't respect me, I'm going to make you learn to respect me!" She said, clearly annoyed. Who was him, anyway? Was he a sort of king or president or something of this place? And even if he was royalty or anything, he didn't have the right to answer her like that!
"What... excuse me! I'm definitely not slow, I just didn't think that someone would come and grab the bag before I could! Had I known, I would have got there first!" Ugh! This person was terrible. Didn't his parents teach him some manners? That wasn't the way to talk to a lady! And... did he just...? Hervivore? Well, she certainly was a vegetarian, but there's a difference between a vegetarian and a hervivore! Hervivore was the word you use for animals, and if he's basically calling her an animal, then he was even more rude than she thought. It should have been a misunderstanding, right? But that didn't make it any better. "I believe you're wrong, they're obviously mine, I'm sure I saw them first, so you don't have any right to call them yours!"
"Ha! It doesn't surprise me that you don't know what a gentleman is, because you're nothing more than a rude bastard!" Now, Rachel didn't like insulting others, at least not so directly, but he deserved it! She wasn't going to stay quiet and let him do everything he wanted.
She glared at him when he started eating one of the apples. Oh no. She wasn't going to let him do that. He wanted to do things the difficult way? Then she would teach him a lesson!
(Of course, she wouldn't imagine what she was getting herself into.)
Taking big steps, she walked towards him and tried to snatch the bag from his hands. She could have suggested splitting the bag, but as clearly that wasn't going to work, she decided to take everything or nothing. And she was sure she would win this.
one thing about hedgehogs: they bite ★ [closed | hibari]
“Hnn? Are you talking to me? Who the hell are you?” the black-haired teen looked over his shoulder lazily, bag of apples in hand. He scoffed at her and hoisted the bag over his shoulder, turning to face Rachel. She was a foreign-looking girl, not much older than him. Cheerful, confident. Herbivore, and as far as he could tell, she had her eyes on the bag of apples he had just picked up.
Hibari was hungry, he had not had much to eat over the last few days at Reborn’s hut, and with how quickly food was taken in Arcadios, he was lucky he had found the apples he now carried. He wasn’t planning on purchasing them, either. They were his for the taking, regardless of what anyone said or who else wanted them. He wasn’t about to share what was his, especially not with a stranger.
“You saw them first? Don’t make me laugh. You must be incredibly slow then,” Hibari snorted and shifted his weight onto one leg, tilting his head and glaring at Rachel, “They’re mine. I don’t share what’s mine. Do you want to fight me for them, herbivore?”
He listened to her strange words and scoffed once again. Rachel didn’t look particularly strong or threatening, like most girls he knew, so Hibari didn’t feel the need to withdraw his weapons to protect himself, and if she came at him, he was sure he could easily outrun her. He didn’t like over-confident women like Rachel, though. It was clear to him that she believed he’d just hand over his loot.
“Gentleman?” he drawled, eyebrows shooting up. “I don’t know what that is. Can I eat it?” he asked, an amused little smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. He knew what a gentleman was, of course, but he certainly wasn’t one, especially not when it came to his things. He couldn’t have cared less that Rachel was a “lady.” She’d have to prove herself in a fight if she wanted his apples. He wasn’t willing to negotiate otherwise. “Why don’t I give you the cores when I’m done with them?” he continued, reaching into the bag and pulling out one of the apples, wiping it on his shirt and taking a big bite out of it, right in front of Rachel. He watched her closely, waiting for a reaction.
#skylark-kyoya#lmao the hervivore thing XD#oh Hibari you don't know how right you are#also sorry for the lateness#it has been a busy week ;;

It had always been so hard for Rachel. Just a few people understood her passion for singing, and the fact that she'd do anything to make her dreams come true. Most people thought that she was just crazy sometimes, or more like weird, because they all thought she was obssessed about it, but it wasn't like that at all! She had dreams and goals, like any other person, it was only that she would do anything to achieve her goals. Only Kurt and her parents understood that, but now she met someone else who understood!
"That's right~! You need both things to make your dreams come true, after all. Talent can only get you so far. Passion is what drives you, and with passion, I think you can do anything." And people were passionate about different things. Rachel always liked knowing what people liked to do. She was very proud when Quinn decided to go to Yale and follow her dreams, and just like that, she'd be proud of anyone's passion. "Now that you mention it, what do you like? I feel like I have talked so much about myself that I barely know things about you!"
Oh, she had stayed back a year! "Really? Why is that? I was so excited about my senior year and graduating". Rachel was curious to know why she would do that. For someone who was so excited about following her dreams, and doing it now, she didn't understand why someone would do that.
"Mmm... well I like acting too, but that's for the sake of being on Broadway. And now that you mention it, one of my friends was really into acting, she was going to study that, even! Her name is Quinn". Quinn... She really missed Quinn. She needed her to be there in Arcadios. It was hard not having her voice of reason. "And I have another friend who's also into singing! We were planning to go to the same college, actually". She made a pause. "...and I had a fianceé". 'Had', because their situation must have changed a lot, and now she wasn't even in her world, but in another place. Maybe that relationship was over now, without her even knowing. "A-anyway! What about you? Any friends? Maybe a relationship?".
first solo ☆ a star is born! ...or kidnapped [intro | open]
Shizuru happens to have a talent for singing, but she rarely does it nowadays. As a child, she was trained to sing until she got older and became Student Council president. Most of the time she’s too caught up in her responsibilities even though she normally shirks them. It was hard work keeping her supply of tea full at all times, let alone dealing with Haruka. Fortunately, she does enjoy singing and she’d be more than willing to try a duet if the opportunity arose. Some say that her singing has a haunting chill to it, which makes people wonder if she’s secretly creepy underneath her kind exterior.
“I’ve found that the more passionate you are about something the more talented you are with that passion.” Shizuru’s talent, for example, is her knowledge on many different teas and she can create a number of them just from memory. That’s how much Shizuru adores tea. No one has insulted her tea-making skills yet, save for Haruka who calls her the ‘Bubuzuke Woman’. “Actually, I stayed back a year, so we might be the same age.” She stayed back a year just to remain with Natsuki. There was no reason for her to graduate if she couldn’t do it with the person she loves. Even now Shizuru is unwilling to accept that she may be separated from her beloved companion forever. In the back of her mind, Shizuru is hoping that she can enjoy herself in Arcadios, especially if there are more people like Rachel around that could use a person to converse with. “So, what else do you like? What kind of friends did you have in your world?” She has a strong tendency to please others for the sake of keeping up appearances and avoiding conflict. Dealing with problems isn’t Shizuru’s forte, so she mostly left the dirty work to the Executive Committee back when she was in high school.

one thing about hedgehogs: they bite ★ [closed | hibari]
It was quite surprising for Rachel, but she found herself enjoying her stay in Arcadios. Things were a bit more difficult, considering she had everything she needed at home, but it wasn't so bad. Once she went all over the Polis (and found out that she had a home, and she wouldn't have to live in the middle of the forest, of course), she discovered that there were things she liked there. There was even an Entertainment Villa, which quickly became her favourite place after the many times she went there.
Life was hard sometimes (the earthquake being the worst thing ever), and definitely not the same, but it was good, and she thought she could get used to it.
The life of a star is never easy, anyway, there were always difficulties. Her mom went though a lot, and her rolemodels too; you can't expect to be star just like that! In any case, she had shelter, food and she could still sing (with or without an audience), and that was basically everything she needed.
Food though... Rachel didn't have any food left in her place. Not even some fruit! The only thing she could find was a glass of water she didn't finish the past night, and that wasn't a good healthy breakfast. With that thought in mind, she decided to go to the food market and get some food for the whole week. Fruit, vegetables, soy yogurt, bread, pasta and soy milk.
What she didn't expect was that there was barely some fruits and vegetables. That's completely unfair! How would a good vegan prepare her healthy dishes without fruits or vegetables? But ah! There it was, a place with some fruit left. A bag of apples, even! And she loved apples.
However, for her bad luck, Rachel got to the place right when a guy that was apparently around her age grabbed her bag. There was no way she was leaving the food market without those apples though. Surely they could get to an agreement.
"Excuse me, sir, but I think that happens to be my bag of apples. I'm quite sure I saw them first, and you wouldn't say no to a lady, right? I know you must be a gentleman and we will be able to solve this problem in no time." She said, smiling at him, and thinking that he would obviously give her the apples.

Miss I never got your name but never mind that I've heard you sing and I must say would you accompany me to a jam session?
"Oh goodness!" If he had heard her singing, then it must had been in one of those times she thought she had been alone. She always tried her best, but she hadn't paid attention to how good she had been singing. But apparently he liked her singing! "I do hope you liked what you heard, I usually can sing better thought"
She instantly liked anyone who had talent or showed interest in music, so she definitely liked him already. Excited, she nodded. "I would love to! It has been a while since I have sung with someone. Oh! And I'm Rachel, and you?"

Rachel listened to everything that Wiress told her, making a mental list. At least she could trust her memory. But the more things Wiress mentioned, the more she started feeling useless. She had never had the necessity to hunt for food, or to even pick up berries, even less to get vines and branches. As nice as Arcadios seemed to be, it looked like Rachel wouldn't to survive a single night alone. She was so glad she wasn't, but she would rather be useful.
"Right, water, food, vines, branches..." She named everything again, so she could remember. There had to be something she could do though. Rachel wasn't going to just wait for everything to come to her, she was way more capable than that!
(If she could live her life as she had until she got to Arcadios, she would be grateful though.)
From all the list, berries was apparently the easiest thing to get, and something she couldn't fail at. Back in her home she had watched some of those survival reality shows, and also some natural life programs. Of course, she had had biology and ecology classes, so she could do that, right? It should be easy enough. "I don't know the kind of berries they have here either, but I can certainly do that. I'll be careful." She answered.
Rachel stayed quiet when she thought that Wiress was going to tell her more about the Arena. It did sound like a dreadful place. She wondered briefly how it'd be to live in a place like that, where you have to be constantly fighting to survive. There wasn't much difference with her current situation though. "Did you participate in it? Because you seem to know a lot about it..." Maybe it was wrong to pry, but she was too curious to stop herself from asking.
There's a huge audience this night!
Wiress gave her a nod, her eyes not straying from the makeshift shelter she was building. It wasn’t her usual wires and machinery, but she could manage. The sooner they got a place to stay for the night, the better,
“A list? I suppose,” she began, mentally preparing a small list for Rachel. “We need water; that is vital. We also need food, firewood, a container of sorts to boil the water, some more moss, vines, branches and such to finish the shelter…” she trailed off, trying to remember what else they needed. For food they would have to hunt for small animals and try to get some berries and other fruits.
“I’m not sure what else we may need.” She turned to Rachel. “Do you know about berries and which ones to pick? I’m not sure what they would have here, so it’s best to be careful.” The last thing they needed was to die from a berry. It wouldn’t have been the first time someone did in the Arena.
The arena. “It’s an unpleasant place where people go to fight…” she trailed off once more, quickly suppressing the memories before they had a chance to fully rise to the surface.

"I'm quite sure that rules are to be followed, that's why they are, you know, rules." While Rachel wasn't the best one to talk about that - she had broken quite a few rules herself, including the whole problem with the school election - she, at least, tried to follow the rules. And this girl was blatantly breaking them! "I do have my fun, but I don't have to break every rule of this place to do it. I was having fun, actually." Before you came.
Bath buddy? Bath buddy?! This girl wasn't even polite at all! She was getting on her nerves, and she couldn't even really kick her out, because she was sure that the blonde was going to return. "If you have to know, I'm Rachel, but I'm quite sure that we won't see each other again. This is a big place, after all, and the chances are very low." Very low because Rachel was going to make sure of that.
She had been quite hungry though, and seeing Kyoko eating so freely had made her even more hungry. "A-anyway! Just because it's the polite thing to do. What's your name?" Rachel glanced at the food briefly, trying to look indiferent, but probably failing to do so.
Bath? [Open!]
The blond just shrugged, taking the berries back and plopping them into her own mouth. “Rules are just suggestions.” She chirped happily, throwing a few more into her mouth. “Besides, if you fallow them all you never have a chance to have fun ! You gotta speak your mind, brah.” She said the last part in a mocking jamacian accent that she had heard before on tv. Emptying the rest of the fruit into her mouth, Kyoko slid down into the water, so that it covered up to her nose. She then began to blow bubbles out of her mouth, happily floating along as she did so. She really didn’t care that the other person in the bath might not like her, She’d eventually get her to like her, everyone always did! Right? Kyoko eventually fully stood up, seeming to have remembered something important. “Bath buddy!” She exclaimed, pointing at the brunette. “What’s your name?”

Rachel would have probably been suspicious if that had happened to her, because it had been sudden - it's not like you go hugging people you don't know around just because you felt like it - but this guy had apparently taken it well, so everything should be fine! Arcadios people were so nice. It was different. Or so she thought.
He even gave her his name! Definitely- wait. Mockingbird? It sounded like a code name, or maybe an aristic name? She couldn't be the only artist in that place, maybe he was a performer, just like her. "It's such a pleasure to meet more people in the field~! For a moment I thought I would be the only one here, but that would be impossible, right?"
sheisagoldstar asked: A dare was a dare. It was a challenge, and she always took challenges. Also, hugging was always a recomforting action. Hugging certain people at least. She didn’t know many people in Arcadios anyway, so it could be a chance to meet someone nice! Not quite sure of who they were, she approached the first person she saw, and gave him a big hug. “I apologize for being so sudden. I’m Rachel Berry, and you?” He was apparently a nice boy, he better appreciate her hug. (( I couldn’t help myself fff ))
Another day, perhaps something new would happen? He liked encountering people, but he loved it more seeing them terrified of him. But what’s this? A female suddenly gave him a friendly hug. This was the 2nd time this ever happened in Arcadios and he wasn’t used to such… uhm… intimacy? It took him a few moments to register what was happening, but her introduction made everything clear… maybe.
The confused look on his face turned into a smile as he gave his own intro. “Mockingbird, Toto Sakigami!”
Oops. There he went again, introducing himself as Mockingbird. Even he wasn’t sure whether to let go of that name or not.
[[ THAT IS OK =v=;; I was just a bit surprised eeeee;;; ]]

"That's right!" Rachel had met just a couple of people so far, but that place was surely was crowded. And that was only one of many places that Arcadios could have. Maybe some of her friends were there, but she hadn't found them yet. Maybe they were already established and she could ask for some help. "We just have to wait, or look for them!" Shizuru's words gave her hope, hope that she wouldn't be alone (and well, she did know people already, so it wasn't like she'd be completely alone, even if her friends weren't in Arcadios).
"Yes! I do sing, I love to perform, it's my passion, you could say." Oh. Shizuru even recognized her talent! She was definitely getting on Rachel's good side, and Rachel could bet they would be friends in no time. "I would love to! See, I love to perform on a stage, but even if there isn't one here, I could always try to sing for everyone". She said, smiling at the other girl. Rachel wasn't sure if Shizuru even liked to sing, or if she was secretly a professional, but maybe one day, they could sing together.
"Fantastic~! We come from the same world then." At least she met someone from her world, because everything would be too confusing if Shizuru was from another world (as interesting as that could be). "I have never been to Greece either, but it looks like a lovely place to visit, or it looked like that in books." She would have liked going there, but now it was just impossible, because their world could be destroyed now and she didn't know. "Oh, you had already graduated from high school! That means you must be older than me. I was only a senior back in our world, though the year was almost over." It didn't happen frequently (it took a lot to actually impress Rachel), but she was starting to look up to Shizuru, and she hoped that things could go well between them.
first solo ☆ a star is born! ...or kidnapped [intro | open]
“That is possible. Plenty of people are here after all.” The thought of Natsuki being here and yet not being able to find her concerns her though. If Natsuki truly is here, then Shizuru will keep her eyes peeled just in case. Her best friend, and the person she loves, shouldn’t be separated from her for too long. It would be equally nice if other people from her world were saved just like her. In fact, perhaps the goddess will bring some of those people over to Arcadios later on. She should be patient just in case. Hope that she may see Natsuki again has returned.
Rachel’s answer calls her back to the present. It’s rude to ignore an answer that she asked for, so she listens carefully. “Oh, you sing? It takes a lot of talent to do that. Perhaps when this place becomes more advanced, you can perform for the people of Arcadios. That would be fun, wouldn’t it?” She gives a friendly smile, almost wondering what kind of music this girl sings. Shizuru herself doesn’t sing, but she has on occasion sung karaoke. “Yes, I was from Earth.” Shizuru answers in response. “I’ve personally never been to Greece, but I only just graduated from high school. One of my life-long goals is to travel a lot though. Greece was on my list, but I don’t think there’s a way to go there now.”

"Oh, that's wonderful! We only need to get the supplies then!" She was enthusiastic about that. It shouldn't be so hard, after all. They knew what they had to do (well, Wiress knew, but same thing, because she could learn!), and now they just had to do it. Most importantly, Rachel wasn't alone in an unknown place, so everything should be fine.
"The arena?" She blinked a couple of times, not completely understanding what the woman was telling her. An arena? Like the Roman Colosseum? But that place couldn't be like the Roman Colosseum, right? There was no chance that it'd be as bad as that. But the place did look like a somewhere taken from a history book, like Greece or Rome. That... that could mean her death! She was made for stages and the spotlight, not for arenas!
She couldn't ask anything else though, because when she was going to, Wiress called her. Rachel walked towards her, looking around, just to make sure that they weren't going to be found by lions, or something worse. She didn't actually know what she was supposed to do, so she just did whatever she saw Wiress doing. It was hard not being the leader and not being in the spotlight, but sometimes it was necessary. She could stand that at least, but the silence was killing her. "So... uhm... what are we supposed to get again? I think that if both of us had a list, it could make things a little bit, uhm, faster".
There's a huge audience this night!
“I have a tiny bit and determined that the supplies from the woods would make for a good shelter,” Wiress replied, trying to recall everything she had learned from her days in the arena. Judging by the look of the sky, they would have to move quickly and build a shelter as soon as possible.
“While these woods are different from the ones back in the arena, it shouldn’t be too hard to…” Wiress looked around, her thoughts once again straying from her mind as her eyes began to pick out the things they needed. Branches, vines for ropes, a nearby hole which could be used for a fire pit; all of these things would be perfect to get them started. “Over here.”
Without waiting to see if Rachel was following, Wiress began to collect supplies before starting to prepare a shelter big enough for them both. It felt good to finally make something, even if it wasn’t with the wires, metal and electricity she was used to. At least her mind was active and not dwelling on old thoughts and memories.
It didn’t take long for her to completely zone out; her expression focused and serious as her eyes never strayed from the materials before them.

If there was one good thing that Arcadios had offered her so far was nice people. Nice, polite and friendly people. Rachel shouldn't be so quick to judge, but her stay in that place had been way better than how things were in her highschool. She could possibly start getting used to it. Maybe. If her life was going to be like that from now on at least.
"Nice to meet you as well!" She said, with a big smile on her face. The least she could do was being nice to Shizuru as well. Rachel wasn't good apologizing, being showing gratitute was something that went better for her. Her smile fell when she heard what Shizuru said though. So nobody else from her world had been saved. Rachel had been saved though, so there was still the slight chance that some others had survived. She hoped so. "I guess you're right, but I suppose there's a chance she had saved others too. Just that we haven't seen them yet."
It was unfair that the goddess had saved only certain people, and as much as she was grateful for being alive now (the goddess must had recognized her potential, she was sure of that!), it would be different without her friends. Lonely, maybe, but wasn't that the life of a star? Even if you were performing in front of a lot of people, you were alone your stage.
"Oh!" Shizuru's question brought her back to earth. "The New Directions is the Glee club I am... was part of, back in my highschool in Ohio, I'm one of the co-captains." She said, proudly. But did Shizuru know about Glee clubs? Probably not, considering they were from different worlds. "It's a singing club." She explained. "We've won some competitions too, thanks to my voice especially, if you let me add."
Thinking about it, just like Shizuru didn't know much of her, she didn't know much of the other girl either, so Rachel did the polite thing to do, she asked. "You were from the Earth, right? You did know Greece, after all."
first solo ☆ a star is born! ...or kidnapped [intro | open]
Shizuru smiles. “Nice to meet you then, Rachel.” She can understand why Rachel didn’t believe her at first. This story does sound unlikely and Shizuru had trouble believing it herself upon her arrival here. “It is a shame that only we were saved. I think she should have saved everyone in all the worlds. Sadly, that’s apparently not possible for even a goddess. See, I think she had to choose carefully which people to place here.”
As Rachel apologizes, she nods. “That’s quite alright. You’re forgiven. And no, I haven’t heard of the New Directions. What is it like?” Her parents? It has been quite some time since Shizuru saw her own mother and father. They were always so busy and Shizuru would be as well if she wasn’t brought here. What should she do to keep the conversation moving? Oh, that’s right. Shizuru can ask questions about her home world. Since she did get elected as the student council president, she had to possess great communication skills. Yes, even though Shizuru often shunned her duties in favor of Natsuki she still knows how to treat other people. Plus, it is a nice change of pace to have someone that isn’t fawning over her greatness. Shizuru quite enjoys having a normal chat for once. It is relaxing to not be student council president anymore as well.
