Inactive Twitter accounts will be deleted

So like I understand the need to free up usernames that were taken and then never used again, but what about accounts of people who died ?

Its unclear if the criteria for an inactive account’s deletion is both “No log in for years AND zero tweets made by the account as a whole,aka empty accounts”

It could very well be “No login for years and zero tweets made during this inactivity”

Which would sucks cuz theres a lot of cool stuff made from accounts who are inactive, and again, all that some families have left from their deceased loved ones is an inactive twitter account.

Back in 2019,this concern was brought up, and Twitter said they wouldnt delete accounts to free up names without making it possible to memorialize accounts of a deceased person first.

Now, Under Elon, i dont know if it will be made.

So if you know an inactive account you really loved.. make sure to save its tweets into the wayback machine, take screenshots, etc.

Just in case.

Also they dont even specify how many years. We’re left in total darkness regarding questions we have.

“This place’s a mess,” Jotaro sighed.

“You had fun though,” you began “the always-so-serious Jotaro had fun and I’m happy that you did babe.” 

By the time everyone had left, your living room was slightly messy, streamers littered everywhere and furniture disarrayed. After spending the last few minutes moving everything, Jotaro, your beloved boyfriend and eternal grump sat content on the couch. He skimmed through each card, telling you how he would open each gift tomorrow. You sat upon the couch opposite and nodded. 

“Is that a smile I see?,” you teased as he read through a familiar looking card, yours to be exact. 

He scowls in your direction, “I’m not smiling.” A chuckle escapes from your lips as you roll your eyes. You watch the way his face softens as he reads your message and you slip away to your room to get the gift you’ve been saving for after the party. 

“Close your eyes!” you yelled from the hall. Tucked behind items on the top shelf of your wardrobe was an unsuspecting bag with the gift. You propped up and carefully retrieved the bag, making your way back to the living room. The sound of quick footsteps echoed in the room, the bag making contact with the table as you sat beside him. 

“Alright, open!” 

Jotaro removed his hands from his face, opening his eyes to the bag across him. Carefully, he pulled the items out of the bag and a genuine smile appeared on his face. His eyes softened with appreciation as he examined the jacket adorned with details of gold and a hat that matched nicely. He took his current hat and plopped it on your head playfully, tugging it down and messing your hair in exchange for the new one.

“Hey!” you squeal. “Because I’m nice, I won’t ruin your gift,” you laugh. 

Jotaro pulls you onto his lap and with your arms around him you hug him tight. “Happy birthday, Jotaro.”

“Thank you y/n, this was the perfect way to end tonight. How do I look?” 

You squint your eyes, scrutinising him jokingly. “Hmmm…handsome,” you conclude, nodding in approval. If you could freeze this exact moment and see Jotaro happy forever, you would. Your fingers brushed the stray curl away from his forehead, taking a moment to admire the rare sight of flushed cheeks and shimmering blue eyes under his thick, dark lashes.

“What are you looking at?” he smirked. 

“Just remembered, I have another gift for you.” Still on his lap, you leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. One. Jotaro wraps his arms around your waist and closes his eyes as your warm lips meet his skin. Two. By the time you’re on kiss number ten, he’s flustered but you keep going. “Ten more, don’t hide baby” you whisper. 

Kiss number thirteen is so tender and you trace your fingers against his jaw, his heart is pounding out of his chest. Seventeen, Jotaro’s body is slumped against the couch, head resting against the armrest. Nineteen, his silly hat still atop your head as you lean down and capture his lips. Finally, number twenty, he yanks the hat off your head and pulls you down so you’re resting against his body. This time he’s the one initiating with a little more intensity. Parting from the familiar sensation of his lips, you’re both a little breathless and can’t help but laugh. 

“One more,” you whisper, closing the distance again and exchanging another addictive kiss. “One for good luck.”
