I Made Some New Friends: Part One

Transcript:

"So I made some new friends lately.

The first being Jolie Dasinger, the nurse from the studio's infirmary.

How did we meet?

Well, one day I was in Sammy's office.

I had given Sammy some more blank paper from one of the supply closets.

On my way back to the recording studio, I ended up making the wrong turn and fell down one of the flights of stairs that led to the infirmary.

Last thing I could recall before passing out was a woman's voice asking me if I was alright.

When I woke up, I found out from Jolie that I twisted my ankle and had passed out for a good two hours.

We talked for a bit while I waited for the swelling to go down and ended up becoming friends.

Huh?

Oh no... Did one of the violinist's bows break again?

Guess I'll have to make second part to this story another day."

My Secret Patient Log #1

Transcript:

"I met my new patient today.

It was just laying on the bed we have in the infirmary when I arrived.

I couldn't tell if it was sleeping or trying to relax.

When I got a closer look at its body, I was horrified.

Poor thing looked like it hadn't eaten a thing in weeks.

Possibly months even.

I said "Hello" to it, trying to see if it could understand human speech.

Turns out, it did!

It didn't respond to me vocally but it did recognize I was there and it got up from the bed to a sitting position.

The next thing I did was ask the patient if it could see me.

It shook its head very slowly, like the patient was afraid it would fall off its body if it shook it too fast.

Made me realize I couldn't do any eyesight tests.

I then asked the patient if could stand up for me because I wanted to take a look at the rest of its body.

It did as I asked but I noticed its legs were shaking.

Which was odd considering how thin the patient was.

The patient almost fell onto the floor but I managed to catch it by its arms, which were very... "human-like".

I then told the patient to sit back on the bed as I didn't want to stress it out anymore than I might have.

This has led me to an interesting conclusion.

What it lacks in eyesight and mobility, it makes up for in its hearing.

I may make multiple logs if my employer allows me to visit more often.

I was pretty surprised when the Joey Drew gave me a call and asked me to be his new Director for his Music Department.

Apparently, Sammy Lawrence, the old Director, just up and vanished on the night of a big party he was throwing.

Some people have been saying that they last saw Kiara Kimberly, who was apparently the daughter of the mob boss in charge of the Kimberly Family, who also vanished that same night, go into the studio as well.

They've been making these tales about how the two were "secret star-crossed lovers" and were going to "elope" after they went in, which, if you ask me, sounds like a bunch of chunky soap coming from their mouths.

There's just no substance to those stories.

I accepted the job, of course.

Maybe my musical touch is what that place needs.

I mean, sure, Mr. Lawrence was a very talented composer, but someone needs to keep that studio's records spinning."

He said he "knew how I felt". How I "had big dreams but didn't know how to make them come true".

Mr. Drew said he wanted to bring my dream to life. You know what I said? I said, "You know what? I'll take that job Mr. Drew. But you better send a letter to my office".

We shook hands and everything. Well, Pa? Still think I'm not great?"
