Apparently moving a bunch of furniture by myself was not a great idea on my part. I am still suffering 🫤 my ankle continues to try and dislocate…again….after I popped it back into place, and both of my wrists have decided that giving up on life and separating from my arms seems like a fun idea to try multiple times a day. Yay me.

Anyway I promise I’m not dead and I miss you guys like crazy. I am here I’m just gonna be pretty slow at stuff until my body stops trying to fall apart 😂😂

Okay I know I've been afk for a bit and I wanted to say I'm so so sorry for my absence. I've had a lot of medical stuff going on and several doctor's appointments that have just drained me. I'm okay-ish, but I'm not back completely just yet. Tomorrow I'll be busy, and then Saturday I'll be out of town for most of the day, but hopefully Saturday evening and/or Sunday I'll be able to be back here and get things going again. For those of you waiting on responses, I am so so sorry. I promise I haven't forgotten about you guys and Lucifer is throwing an absolute fit about not being here.

You're all so wonderful and appreciated. Thank you guys for your patience with me, and I promise we'll be back very very soon!

With a little appreciative smile, Lucifer nodded his head slightly - knowing better than to protest or try to argue. Alastor didn't offer things simply because he knew someone else would want it. He only did things he actually wanted to do...so the fact that he was offering to help him with preening wasn't lost on the Fallen. If he was offering...he meant it.

"...I...y-yea. Thanks, Al."

He was going to say something else, but pressure at the base of his spine had him clamping his mouth shut tightly instead, determined to keep the little flustered noise he was about to make from escaping his lips. His wings flared, fluttering slightly, and he leaned forward just a bit - pretending it was to give the other better access to the feathers, but it was really just to help him hide the faint blush now adorning his cheekbones.

It wasn't like he left them un-preened on purpose...well okay maybe it was sometimes. They were just so much effort. And it wasn't like he could reach the ones closest to his flesh all on his own. Besides - for the longest time they'd only served as a reminder of all he'd lost. All that had been so viciously ripped away from him. A cruel mockery of what he'd been once upon a time. Now it was just something he didn't really think about...something he put from his mind until the Radio demon so casually reminded him, and he tensed as the other stroked over the sensitive appendages.

"...I...w-well I mean it...it's not like I...b-but if you want to I wouldn't...y'know...tell you no or anything. But only if you want to....and aren't busy."

There are exactly two people that Lucifer can think of off the top of his head that he wants to find a way to fix things with from before his Fall. A few others he wouldn't mind being able to make up with, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.

The two, though....the two kill him on the inside a little bit. And by a little bit I mean a LOT. He just doesn't think it'll happen and doesn't see a way forward into making it happen. Both sides have their reasons, and rightfully so. He just doesn't know how to genuinely apologize to the point that it would actually mean something, and isn't sure he even could. He also doesn't really believe he deserves their forgiveness, and as such he can't/won't ever ask for it.

He's well aware that he's made mistakes. But he refuses to ever say that he was entirely in the wrong. That's not his Pride speaking, that's how he genuinely feels.

Not me over here just...imagining how much of a mess Lu's wings are. Sure they look pretty from a distance but he keeps them tucked away so much and can't reach the feathers closest to his back so he can't really preen them properly - so in reality they're just messy and ruffled with damaged/broken feathers because he can't care for them properly himself and he just kind of...stopped caring about their appearance/maintenance after his Fall.

What was so bad about killing Sinners? Sure, he knew that most of Heaven probably shared that view but...hearing it was like yet another knife in his back, heart clenching painfully.

"Killing Sinners is still killing. It's mass genocide. Every year. Over and over and over again. It makes you no better than they are. If anything, it makes you worse. Committing crimes of your own and being hypocritical enough to call it 'justified' as if you're not doing far worse than anything they've ever done."

He wasn't necessarily saying him in particular...just Heaven in general. Hypocrites, the lot of them. Claiming their own sins were 'justified', using their status as angelic beings to commit atrocities against any who didn't share their view or mindlessly obey like little puppets dancing on strings.
