All Hell Breaks Loose (rewrite) part 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Warnings: Some light swearing
Word count: 3272
Description: All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 rewrite! I decided I would split the season finale into 2 parts cos a lot happens in this ep and I’m already at 3000 words so I’ll do another part to finish this episode off! Enjoy ☺️
You helped Dean and Bobby pull Sam’s lifeless body into one of the houses in the town and onto an old mattress. The last hour or so after was a blur, you waited with Bobby outside the room while Dean was alone with Sam. It didn’t look like he was leaving the room anytime soon so Bobby decided to go get you all some food since it had been almost 24 hours since any of you had slept or ate. “Watch him” Bobby said, pointing towards the door, you just nodded. After another hour or so you decided it would be a good idea to check on Dean, you tapped on the door quietly and opened it. Dean didn’t even look up to you from where he sat, he just stared at Sam lying on that mattress. “Dean?” You asked but he didn’t reply “do you need anything?” Again nothing it’s like he couldn’t hear you. “I’ll just be outside ok” you placed a hand on Dean’s shoulder but it was no use, Dean didn’t want you or need you right now, he just wanted to be alone.
-
You hated this feeling inside, feeling helpless to do anything to make this better for Dean. The one thing that you had always been good at, the reason why you had stuck around with the Winchester boys for so long. It was easy to feel like a third wheel with the brothers, they had a relationship that you had never seen between anyone else before. But even with their co-dependence you still had you place. Dean was the saviour, the muscle. He was head strong and ressilent. Sam was obviously the brains, smart and resourceful. But the boys shared one important thing in common, they had been hurt. They both shared experiences so painful that most people would just lie down and give up but they had you to turn to, to talk to when they couldn’t talk to each other. Sam would come to you when he was frustrated with his older brother, you two would complain about Dean and his bad habits or you would talk about Jess and how hard it had really been on Sam after her death. You and Sam shared a lot in common and it was always such a weight of each other’s shoulders that there was someone else that you could relate to. And Dean, well your relationship with him was different to say the least. You and Dean didn’t talk about your feelings or your depressing childhoods, that’s just not the way he was. Instead you shared a love of music, food and each other’s company, He would never admit it but it was your presence that would calm his nerves or distract him from the nightmares. You didn’t need words and long conversations to understand each other, you could ride for hours in the Impala in comfortable silence and be the happiest you had ever been. You and Sam were close but it didn’t compare to you and Dean. The way you had felt about him had started to impeach on your friendship more than you had cared to admit, it kept you awake at night and it was always the first thing on your mind when you woke up but you could never admit it to Dean, you could barley admit it to yourself. You played it off, you would call it a crush and try to forget about it but you could never grasp the scale of your feelings towards Dean. You thought maybe it was because you were scared that he would never share those feelings back or that sometimes you honestly believed that you didn’t deserve to be happy with anyone. Sometimes you thought how much easier it could be going it alone, not having to look out for anyone but yourself but you stayed with the boys because they are what gave your life meaning, hunting and saving lives that was all part of the job but caring for the boys, looking after them is what you really wanted, it’s what meant the most to you. So what were you good for now? You would do anything for Dean but he didn’t want you or need you, he needed Sam but that’s the one thing you couldn’t do for him, you couldn’t bring him back no matter how much you wanted to. All you could do is sit and wait, just be there for Dean and hope that he would come back to you threw all of this crap.
-
Bobby came back with some food and you were pretty grateful to not be alone again. Bobby handed you a sandwich and bottle of water, “Dean? Brought you this back.” Bobby said holding out a bucket of fried chicken for him. “No, thanks. I’m fine.” You don’t think you had ever seen Dean turn down food in your life. “You should eat something.” You said “I said I’m fine.” Dean snapped back at you, his voice made you cower slightly and immedetaly felt guilty for trying to push him to eat. Dean picked up a bottle of whisky from the table and took a swig, you sat down on one of the chairs and ate your sandwich in silence, you’d be damned if you weren’t going to eat something. You watched Bobby look around awkwardly to Dean, “Dean… I hate to bring this up, I really do. But don’t you think maybe it’s time… we bury Sam?” You didn’t look up from your sandwich, knowing that Bobby’s words were going to turn this into a heated moment, “No.” Dean replied bluntly. “We could, maybe…” Bobby started but was interrupted “What? Torch his corpse? Not yet.” You chewed faster, feeling extremely uncomfortable, feeling as if you were stuck between the two men, you would be forced to take sides and you had no clue who’s you would take. “I want you to come with me.” Bobby Pleaded “I’m not going anywhere.” Bobby looked at you for some support but you didn’t want to get between the two of them. “Dean, please.” Dean paced around the room to let out some of his tension “Would you cut me some slack?” You stopped eating and put down your sandwich, you could feel that this fight was starting to get serious. “I just don’t think you should be alone, that’s all. I gotta admit, I could use your help.” Dean snorts “Something big is going down – end-of-the world big.” “Well, then let it end!” You stood up from the table ready to intervene. “You don’t mean that.” Bobby asks “You don’t think so? Huh? You don’t think I’ve given enough? You don’t think I’ve paid enough? I’m done with it. All of it. And if you know what’s good for you, you’d turn around, and get the hell out of here.” You move over to the men “ok guys let’s calm down” Bobby just stands there, shaking his head. Dean shoves Bobby all of a sudden “Go!” You put yourself between them and hold Dean back, you knew that if he really wanted to he could easily push you aside but you doubted Dean would ever really hurt you or Bobby no matter how hurt he felt. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please, just go.” Bobby looked to you “I’ll stay ok” Bobby nodded knowing you would look after Dean while he was gone “You know where I’ll be.” He said as he walked out. You looked at Dean, you didn’t say anything, you didn’t need to your face had said it all. “What?” Dean asked, “You know what” you replied, you gave him another long glare and he returned back to the room where Sam laid. You were fighting sleep, it had been around 30 hours since the last time you slept. You knew you had to keep and eye on Dean and make sure he didn’t do something stupid but he hadn’t left that room in hours and your eyelids began to betray you. You had sat down on an old, dirty and torn couch, you rested your head on the side of the chair. You didn’t mean to but you slowly drifted away, letting all your troubles slip away while you fell into a dreamless sleep.
-
It had felt like you had only fallen asleep for a few minutes but you could tell by the rising sun in the window that you must have managed a few hours. Your eyes were heavy and you could kill for a shower. You looked around you and noticed the keys of the Impala had dissapeared from the table where they had been last night. A panic set over you and you cursed yourself for falling asleep, you had one job and that was to watch Dean and make sure he didn’t drive off somewhere and do something reckless. You raced out the door and tried to get your bearings, everything looked extremely different in the day light and you weren’t sure which way you had come into the town until you saw the Black Impala driving down the dirt road towards you. You were relieved to see Dean but you were ready to give him a piece of your mind for making you worry like this. As he pulled the Impala up you stood next to his door so he would have to confront you when he got out. As he got out he refused to look you in the eye and you knew that something was wrong. Dean went to move past you but you grabbed him and pushed him back “what did you do Dean?” You asked him, he just looked at you with honest desperation. “He’s my brother Y/N” he said, his voice all but defeated. You went to stop him from walking away but this time he pushed passed you and you couldn’t stop him. You followed behind him into the house and you almost dropped dead from disbelief. Standing in front of you was Sam, as alive as you and Dean, a rush of emotions flowed over you and you were elated to see Sam again but confused about how he was alive. You looked at Dean and knew immediately he had something to do with this. “Sammy? Thank god.” Dean pulled his brother into a hug “Hey, Owwww. Uh, Dean…” Dean let go of his brother and you both stand there, wide eyed staring at him. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry, man. I’m just… I’m just happy to see you up and around, that’s all.” Sam nods slightly and then looked to you still confused. You tried to hide your emotions from your face, not wanting to alert Sam of the event that had unfolded last night but you could feel your anger starting to rise just thinking about Dean medealling in things that neither of you understood. “Dean… what happened to me?” You looked to Dean, eager to hear how he would explain himself, you almost had to stop yourself from crossing your arms and tapping your foot waiting for an explanation. “Well, what do you remember?” Dean asked his brother. “I-I saw you and Y/N and… I felt this pain. This sharp pain, like… white-hot, you know, and then you started running at me, and… that’s about it.” Dean hesitated for a moment, “Yeah, that— that kid, stabbed you in the back. You lost a lot of blood, you know…. It was pretty touch and go for awhile.” Dean’s words were an understatement to say the least “But Dean, you can't— you can’t patch up a wound that bad.” You looked back to Dean again, he seemed to digging himself a deeper hole with each question. “No, but Y/N could.” Dean turned to you, it was the first time he had looked at you properly today. You thought for a moment about the consequences of being implicated in all of this, you could just tell Sam the truth and work something out or you could go with Dean’s and be forced to lie to Sam for who knows how long. You looked at Dean and he looked you dead in the eye, you could tell what he was thinking, he was begging with you not to say anything. You tried your hardest to do the right thing in the moment, you hated lieing and being lied to and felt strongly that it be best to tell Sam the gods honest truth , but you went against it all for the sake of Dean, you couldn’t let him down like this. You didn’t try to speak, convinced that your words might betray you and give you away so you just nodded. “Thank you” Sam added and hugged you tight, as he did you noticed Dean’s eyes dart away from your’s and you could sense the guilt he was so desperately trying to hide.
-
“So who was that guy anyway?” Dean asked, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible. “His name’s Jake. Did you get him?” Sam asked. “No, he disappeared into the woods.” You replied, finally regaining the ability to speak. “We got to find him, Dean. And I swear I’m gonna tear that son of a bitch apart.” Sam started for the door and you and Dean move to stop him. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy, Van Damme. You just woke up, all right? Let’s get you something to eat. Huh? You want something to eat?” Sam nods “I’m starving. Come on.” Dean goes to walk off but you grab his forearm, “we need to talk” you demand. “Can this wait?” Dean asks in a hushed voice, but you don’t let up, you need him to know that this is serious. Dean nods, he glances towards Sams direction who has gone to the bathroom, making sure he won’t hear you and you follow him outside. Once you step out to the fresh air all of your anger that has been building up inside you seems to rise to the top and you can’t keep it in anymore, you shove Dean hard in the chest and you do your best not to scream at him but the tone in your voice is nothing that you had ever used with him before. “What the fuck did you do Dean?” Dean looks away like a guilty puppy but your not having any of it and you shove him again. “What did you do!” This time your voice threatens to get louder, Dean tries to hush you but you push him away. “Was it a deal? Dean please tell me you didn’t make a deal!” Dean just nods, you raise your hands to your head and pull at your hair, it was the worst thing you could have thought off. You didn’t know what to think or how to feel in that moment, except one emotion stood out the most. The white hot anger you had for Dean was palpable, you had seen it time and time again. Dean’s little to no regard for his own life when it came to his brother drove you mad, you really couldn’t understand how he thought so little of himself to think that everyone would be better off without him. That he didn’t care that if he wasn’t here that you would have no reason to live, that Dean was the last tangible reason to you staying on this earth and he had gone and sold his soul. “How long did you get?” You asked trying to bring your emotions back under control. Dean took a moment to answer, worried about how you would react to the truth. “One year” all your effort to control yourself was futile, the tears that had been welling up had started to fall and you felt sick to your stomach. You were lost for words and you just didn’t have the energy to fight him anymore. “What could I do Y/N? He’s my little brother! I’ve got to look after him!” You were pacing infront of him, “so that means throwing away your own life Dean?” Dean didn’t respond, he didn’t have a good answer. “Dean what about Sam? How do you think he’s going to feel after he learns what you did? How did you feel when John did it for you?” You knew exactly how Dean felt, it had been eating away at him for the last year. “I’m not even suppose to be here! At least this way something good could come out of it, you know it’s like my life could mean something.” You couldn’t believe how little Dean really thought of himself and it tore you apart in the inside. “Dean your life does mean something! It means something to me! What the hell am I suppose to do?” Dean tried to move to touch you but you didn’t let him. “ you gotta look after Sammy when I’m gone, please” you hated hearing him talk like it was already over. You took a few deep breaths and composed yourself, you don’t think you had ever let Dean see you cry before and you felt so weak for doing so. “I’ll help you finish this, we will find the yellow eyed demon and I’ll do whatever it takes for you to kill him..” you pause for a moment, you weren’t sure if you were going to go threw with the rest of your sentence but you had to, it was the only way you would be able to move on from this in one piece.
“But after that I’m out, I’m not going to hang around to see you get dragged to hell Dean, I-I cant” you choked on your words and held back more tears. You wanted nothing more than to be with Dean right in this minute, to hold him close and tell him that it would be alright, that you could go on without him but that was far from the truth. Your instincts told you that the only way your coming out of this being ok is putting as much space between yourself and Dean as possible, you knew that if you stayed around you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from giving into your true feelings for Dean, you would let yourself be truly in love with him and you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from telling him, you would need to feel him next to you every night and then you would have to watch him get torn to shreds, after that there would be nothing left for you, no reason to hang around. You thought it best to cut ties now before you let yourself get involved, it might hurt now but that didn’t compare to the hurt you would feel in a years time. Dean looked hurt by your words but nodded in agreement, “ok”. You wanted to keep screaming at him but there was nothing left in you, in a moment of weakness you let Dean move close and lay his hands on your cheek, his touch sent shivers threw you and you almost gave into your feelings then and there but this is exactly what you knew would happen and you pulled your cheek away from his touch, it was clear to Dean that you weren’t going to budge on your decision so he left you outside to rejoin his brother. You gave yourself a minute or so to process things and returned inside to the two brothers to decide your next move to find the yellow eyed demon.

All Hell Breaks Loose (rewrite) part 1
Tumblr media
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Warnings: None, just follows the episode
Word count: 1,753
Description: Rewrite of all hell breaks loose part 1&2
You answered your phone to a panicked Dean on the other end, you hadn’t heard from the boys for a couple months but it was good to hear Dean’s voice again. “Y/N is Bobby with you?” He shouted into the phone “Hi Dean, nice to hear from you to” you replied sarcastically, you should have realised from the tone in his voice that something was wrong. “Y/N I don’t have time for this! It’s Sam, he’s missing” you immediately felt guilty for having a go at him for not saying hello. “Uh Bobby’s on a job at the moment, where are you Dean? We’ll come find you” Dean gave you his address and you and Bobby made your way to the oldest Winchester brother. You met up with Dean on the side of a highway, usually you were met with Sarcasam and casual flirtation but you watched Dean pace back and forth in frustration and panic. Bobby brought out a large map of all the demonic possessions and omens within the last month and laid it flat out on the hood of the Impala. You could tell Dean was confused, “Are you joking? There’s nothing here!” He was right, it was dead out there. No sign of demon activity which meant no way of finding Sam. After about another 20 minutes or so of trying to work out another plan Dean got a call from Ash and by the sounds of it, it was something serious. You and Dean made your way to the Roadhouse to talk to Ash with Bobby following closely behind. You were sat in the front seat of the Impala next to Dean, it was a rare occasion that you got to sit up front but you couldn’t really enjoy it. You had never seen Dean like this before, he hadn’t even bothered to turn on the radio which was unlike him.
As you pulled up the driveway you saw black smoke coming from where the Roadhouse used to stand. It had be burnt to the ground. You and Dean rushed out of the Impala, you walked through the remains of the Roadhouse trying to distinguish one body from another “any sign of Ellen or Ash?” Dean asked, you looked around and couldn’t find any sign of either of them “No I don’t think so” not that you could really be sure anyway. You watched Dean bend down over a charred body and shook his head “oh, Ash, damn it!” He yelled. You and Dean walked back over to the Impala where Bobby was standing, his mouth was open and he looked distraught, you knew Bobby knew a lot of hunters, probably half of the people in there. You placed a hand in his shoulder to comfort him. “What the hell did Ash know? We’ve got no way of knowing where Ellen is. Or if she’s even alive. We’ve got no clue what Ash was gonna tell us. Now, how the hell are we gonna find Sam?” Dean was furious now and you didn’t know what you could do to help “We’ll find him.” You tried to reassure him, all of a sudden Dean clutched his forehead in pain “Dean?” You ask to see if he’s ok but he doesn’t respond, Dean groans and doubles over. You move over to him and reach out for his arm to stable him. “What was that?” Bobby asked “I don’t know. A headache?” Dean replied rubbing his head. “You get headaches like that a lot?” Asked Bobby “No. Must be the stress. I could have sworn I saw something.” You and Bobby gave each other a glance “What do you mean? Like a vision? Like what Sam gets?” You asked, Dean looked shocked at your suggestion “What? No! Come on, I’m not some psychic.” Suddenly Dean groans in pain again, you still have a hold of his arm and Dean leans into you with all of his weight, Bobby had to hold onto him to to stop Dean from falling ontop of you “Dean? Dean! Are you with me?” Bobby asked, Dean took a moment to balance himself “Yeah, I think so. I saw Sam. I saw him, Bobby.” You let go of Dean as he stabled himself leaning against the Impala “It was a vision.” You asked, Dean nodded “Yeah. I don’t know how, but yeah. Whew. That was about as fun as getting kicked in the jewels.” Dean took a few breaths and you leant next to him on the car. “What else did you see?” Bobby asked “Uh… there was a bell.” You looked at him confused “What kind of bell?” Bobby asked again “Like a big bell with some kind of engraving on it, I don’t know.” “Was it a tree? Like, an oak tree? Bobby’s question we’re getting specific you thought, he must have some idea of where this bell was. “Yeah, exactly.” Dean confirmed “I know where Sam is.” Bobby pulled out his map again and pointed to Cold Oak, South Dakota. You recognised the name, “isn’t that town deserted? You asked Bobby “why is it deserted?” Dean asked you, “it’s a town so haunted that everybody practically up and left” bobby responded for the both of you.
Without another words you were back in the Impala making your way to South Dakota, the drive was maybe 3 hours away and you were tempted to fall asleep but you didn’t want to leave Dean to his own thoughts and worries so you blasted one of Dean’s mixtapes and rolled down the windows. You could tell Dean was worried by the way he furrowed his brows and his tense shoulders. There was not much you could really do to help Dean when it came to Sam. All you wanted in the world was to make this better for Dean, secretly you wanted to be enough for Dean but you knew that Dean would always pick Sam over you no matter what. You had this stupid crush on Dean since the day you met him, at the start it was nothing more than some innocent flirting and sexual innuendos but after a few months of that you had noticed how your hands started to get sweaty and your face blushed when you were around him. You had ignored it for the most part, you had even avoided the brothers for awhile to try and distract yourself from it but it was useless as soon as Dean would call you would be there. Dean often made moves on you, after a hunt when you were at a bar, long after Sam had gone to sleep. Dean would lay down one of his pick up lines and you would use all of your self restraint not to follow him back to his motel room. But you had made a deal with yourself, you watched the way Dean was with other girls and you couldn’t let yourself be another notch in Dean’s belt, you’d never forgive yourself if you did. After the first couple of times with no luck Dean had given up trying to sleep with you, you yearned for the attention from him but you knew you would be better off this way. You and Dean were better as friends, you knew were you stood as friends you would both have each other’s backs always and there would be no confusion or blurred lines.
The Impala pulled up to Cold Oak around 1am you and Dean moved from the front seat of the Impala to the boot and loaded up your bags, holy water, salt shells, the whole nine. Bobby pulled up behind you and did the same, you decided to split up Bobby went one way and you followed Dean the other. It was a freezing night and you could barley see anything in front of you, it was so dark you couldn’t see when Dean had stopped infront of you and you walked straight into the back of him. “Shit sorry” you replied but Dean hardly noticed “do you hear that?” He asked, you focused on the noises around you and you could hear the faint sounds of grunting as if people were fighting. You nodded to Dean and you both moved towards the sound, as you round a corner you can just make out two figures up ahead. “Sam!” Dean called out and the figure turned around. Dean started sprinting towards then and you followed behind as closely as you could. As you got closer you could make out the figure to be Sam. You watched Sam as he clutched his arm and staggered towards Dean and you exhausted. “Dean!” You could hear the relief in Sam’s voice, Dean’s pace picked up and you struggled to keep up with him. The man lying on the ground next to Sam begins to stir and suddenly wakes up. He grabs the knife from next to him “Sam, look out!” Dean dropped his bag and gun and sprinted towards Sam but it was too late. The man stabs the knife right through Sam’s back. “Noooo!” The man twists the knife, creating a massive wound, before running away. Gasping, Sam falls to his knees. You spot Bobby round the corner and chase after The other guy. Dean reaches Sam first and slides to the ground to catch him before he falls. He grabs onto Sam’s shirt to keep him up. You finally make it to the boys and through your bags down on the ground. You lift up Sam’s shirt to look at the wound, the knife had gone clean through Sam’s spine. Dean looked at you and you just shook your head. “No, Sam! Whoa, whoa, whoa, Sam. Sam! Hey! Hey, Hey, look at me. It’s not even that bad. It’s not even that bad, all right? Sammy? Sam! Hey, listen to me. We’re gonna patch you up, okay? You’ll be good as new. Huh? I’m gonna take care of you. I’m gonna take you care of you. I’ve got you. That’s my job, right? Watch out for my pain-in-the-ass little brother?”Dean touches his brother’s face “Sam? Sam! Sam! Sammy! You hold your hand over your mouth as you watch the brothers, you feel tear after tear rolling down your face, unable to help you were useless in that moment. You watched as Sam’s eyes slide shut. His entire body slumps forward onto Dean “No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, God. Oh, God. SAM!”

New Memories (part 1 & 2)
Tumblr media
Pairing: ThomasxOC
Warnings: none atm
Authers note: so this just basically follows the first book/movie of the maze runner series, I want to work my OC character into the story line in an original way but I’m not sure how I want to do that yet, anyways here is chapters 1 & 2 I hope y9u like it, send me feedback or let me know how you’d want this story to go!
First breath
I opened my eyes and waited as they adjusted to my surroundings, I was unfamiliar with my environment and tried to think why I had woken up without any memory of how I had gotten here but nothing at all seemed to answer my question, in fact it was if I had no memory at all. The cage was to small to stand up straight in so sat on my knees and used my hands to feel the objects around me. The metal cage shook and a light flashed on and off and illuminated the cage in a harsh red hue , the sound of metal clanking against metal and chains and gears grinding together I realised the metal cage was moving. It jerked up and threw me off balance and I fell onto my back, as the cage began to move upwards I heard another voice in the cage which startled me. The voice was panicked and angry,
“HEY! STOP!”
The voice sounded like a boy because of it’s deep tone, I was a girl, that all I knew. The boy banged and hit the sides of the cage in a violent effort to stop the cage from moving any further. I don’t think the boy had realised I was there, I hadn’t made a sound yet, I didn’t even know what my voice sounded like yet. I hadn’t really decided how I felt about the situation yet, wether I should be banging and screaming in panic like the boy or if I should remain calm as I was doing now, maybe remaining calm was a personality trait that I had or maybe I was yet to grasp the reality of what was happening around me.
“SOMEONE….HELP….ME”
The boy screamed again. I felt more concerned about the boy then myself, I wanted to help calm him down. “Hey” I called to him so he would know I was here, the boy jumped and turned to face me, he had a scared expression but it turned more confused when he saw me. “Who are you? Where the hell are we?” He asked me, I wanted to be able to give him an answer but I was at a loss as to what we were doing here. “I don’t know”
I moved closer to him and he reached out his arms to balance me as the cage shook, I held onto his forearms and he had his hand under my elbows, his touch was comforting as I hoped mine was for him. “Do you remember anything?” I asked him, he looked down for a second and then back up to me. “No…” another jolt and we both fell, the cage was building momentum and began moving at a violently fast speed, I looked up and noticed the roof moving towards us uncomfortably fast. My hands moved to protect my head instinctively and the boy did the same, we prepared for an impact when a loud clank an a thin line of light appeared on the roof, the light grew and grew and I realised the roof was opening to let us threw. The boy next to me used one hand to cover his eyes from the bright light and the other was holding onto my arm to balance me, like he had before.
The light had enveloped us and suddenly everything was different again, the light faded and I saw the blue sky and felt the warmth of the sun on my skin. I heard more voices around us, all boys.
“Look at that shank.”
Tumblr media
“Hang on a sec.”
“What the shuck.”
“Is that a girl?”
“A girl?, let me see!”
“I call dibs!”
Everything finally came into focus and I realised there were about 50 boys standing around us, some were older then me a few younger. One of the boys jumped down into the box, he had an aggression about him that set me in edge and I shifted my body slightly behind the other boy.
“Nice to meet you greenies, welcome to the glade.” I knew the boy was speaking English but I had no idea what that sentence meant.
The boy held out his hand to us and pulled us out of the cage, I felt every single persons eyes staring into my back, but that all faded into the background as I looked around me. A wall surrounded a huge field, the walls must have been hundreds of feet high and made a square shape around us. I could here some of the boys laughing and snickering to themselves, I turned my attention back to the strangers that surrounded me, “where are we?” I asked, needing an answer to what was going on.
“Nowhere good.” A tall dark-skin boy said with a grin on his face, I was frustrated at him, I just wanted some proper answers. I looked at the familiar boy and he was stared back at me, neither of us had any idea what was going on. “Where are we” I asked again, this time demanding a better answer. “It’s a long story shank.” The boy held his hand out to me to shake it, “My names Alby.” I remained still, if no one was going to give me a straight answer then there was no way I was going to trust these boys.
“Just give them the bloody tour Alby.” Boy with an unfamiliar accent stepped out from the crowd and walked over to where Alby, the other boy and I were standing. “My names Newt, we call this place the Glade.” Newt gestured to the surroundings “We call ourselves Gladers, this is where we eat, sleep and live.” I looked around and noticed the make shift huts on the outskirts of the small forest. “Who sent us here?” The boy from the box asked, I had almost forgotten about him in the commotion. “We don’t know green bean.” Alby replied “look all you need to know right now is our 3 rules, everyone does their part, we don’t need any slackers round here. Never hurt another Glader, we have to trust one another, that’s the only way this works. And Lastly, the most important rule, never leave the Glade, unless you’re a runner.” Every sentence Alby said there was a new phrase I didn’t understand, what the hell was a runner? I was so overwhelmed with all the information that was entering my head that my stomach began to churn and I felt my head spin, my vision blurred and I felt my knees buckle under me, unable to support my weight any longer. I fell towards the earth, before my body crashed into the ground someone caught me, my eyes closed and I blacked out.
Only girl in the Glade
I woke up in a small hut, the bed I was lying on hurt my back but I felt so tired I couldn’t sit up, I turned my head to look around the room and saw a boy attending to other injured people, I must have been in a med hut. The boy walked over to me and placed his hand on my head. “How you feeling greenie?” Even though I was still feeling faint I just wanted to get out of this place and find anything familiar. “I’m feeling better thanks.” The boy passed me a glass of water. “Names Jeff, Clint and I are med-jacks.” He pointed to the other boy in the hut wrapping up someone’s ankle with a bandage. I drank the water and passed back the glass to Jeff. I flung my legs of the side of the bed and pushed myself up, I shook a little on my feet and Jeff grabbed on to my arm to steady me
“hey just calm down there.”
“Really I’m fine, I’d like to leave now.”
I exited the med hut and noticed that it was much later in the afternoon, there was a large bonfire that all the boys were gathered around, I made my way over and a feeling came across me, one that I had noticed before but was only now realising, the reason why everyone stared at me as I walked past, why they were all so surprised when they first saw me. It was because I was the only girl. That thought didn’t sit well with me, I quickly rushed over to where I saw Newt and the boy from the cage. “You’re back.” Newt smiled handing me a plate of food, I sat down on the dirt and began to eat, I felt like I hadn’t eaten anything in days. The boy from the cage looked calmer then earlier which comforted me knowing that this place was not as bad as I imagined. “Well greenies, first day is always the hardest.” Newt sipped from a glass jar, he winced before swallowing the brownish liquid. “So, we trapped here?” I ask “for the moment…but you see those guys other there? They’re runners, and that guy in the middle is Minho, he’s the keeper of the runners. Every morning when those gates open they go out and run the maze. Mapping it, memorising it, trying to find a way out.” All three of use were staring out at the edge of the Glade, the entrance of the maze was now closed. “What happens if they don’t come back before the doors close.” I asked “then they get stuck in the maze for the night, no ones has survived a night in the maze.” Newts expression changed and he looked down at the ground. “Why?” The other boy asks. “We call Em’ Grievers.” There he goes with another made up word, its was going to take me forever to understand the slang in the Glade. Newt stood up and reached out his hand to pull us up. “All right that’s enough questions for tonight, let me show you around.”
“There we have the builders, good with there hands, not much going on upstairs. Winston is the keeper of the slicers. Then there is Clint and Jeff.” Newt looked to me and smiled, “you must be familiar with our med-jacks now.” I nodded my head and we moved along
“What if I want to be a runner?” The boy asked. I looked at him with a confused expression, why the hell would you want to be a runner, risking your life in the maze only to come up with dead ends. “Did you listen to a word I said? No one wants to be a runner.” It seemed I was thinking the same way Newt had. “Anyway you have to be chosen.” We had moved over to a few boy who had been wrestling, A taller boy pushed the smaller one out of a circle and everyone cheered, the small boy crashed into us and nearly knocked me off my feet for the second time today.
“What do you say greenies?” The taller boy looked at me then the other boy. Was he really expecting me to get in their and wrestle with him? He must have had rocks for brains. “Gally fighting a girl won’t show everyone how tough you are.” Newt said in my defence, I’m glad someone was looking out for me. Gally looked to the other boy, I guess it’s you and me greenie.” The boys around us began chanting, “Greenie!, Greenie!, Greenie!” He stepped into the circle and charged Gally but he was quick and manoeuvred out of his way, letting the boy fall to the ground.
“Get up Greenie, I’m not done with you yet.” Gally taunted. “Stop calling me that.” The other boy yelled, he charged at Gally again, this time getting the upper hand and Gally fell to the ground, a few boys cheered, others booed the greenie. “Not bad for a Greenie, huh?” The boys cockiness distracted him as Gally used his leg to trip him.
The boy fell to the ground and hit his head on the sand, the impact made me wince and I ran over to him to make sure he was ok. He looked up at me, a mixture of pain and excitement in his face. “Thomas.” I was confused, was he referring to me? I hope my name wasn’t Thomas. “Thomas.” He said again a little louder. I helped him off the ground and he looked around the circle. “Hey, I remember my name, it’s Thomas.” Thomas grabbed my shoulders and pulled me in for a hug, the circle around us enclosed and about twenty of us were all standing together cheering that Thomas had remembered his name. I was happy for him but thought about how long it might be before I remember my name, or anything about myself before I came to the Glade.
The celebrations were cut short when a loud rumble came from over the walls, it sounded like an animal and it came from almost every direction of the maze. I looked at Thomas and he looked just as concerned as I felt. “What the hell was that?” He asked “that my friend…was a Griever.”
The little party was wrapped up by Alby after that and we were all sent to bed, a boy named Chuck showed Thomas and I were we would be sleeping. The hut was filled with hammocks and make shift beds, Chuck handed us a thermos each filled with water, a spare set of clothes and then handed me a small bag. I opened the bag and it was filled with woman’s toiletries. I looked at Chuck who was blushing bright red. “That came up in the box today.” I nodded and thanked him. Hygiene hadn’t even crossed my mind but I was thankful for a few items of comfort. Chuck showed us which hammocks were ours, Thomas and my hammock were close together, then Chuck’s hammock hung in the other side of Thomas, we were one the outskirts of the hut, I assumed this is were all greenies started. I hopped into my hammock and pulled a lightweight blanket over my body. I was very uncomfortable but as I looked around most of the boy layers in their hammock so I didn’t think complaining about it would help me get anything better. After a few minutes of silence a few snores could be heard around the room. I turned to face Thomas in my hammock, I wondered if he could sleep. He was wide awake as well, he looked at me and gave me the best reassuring smile he could, but I knew deep down we had both felt extremely unsure about this place. “Thomas?” I asked him, he waited for my question, “do you think I’ll remember my name tomorrow?” It was really bugging me not knowing who I was, I felt like once I remembered my name some of my memories might come flooding back, but that didn’t seem the case for Thomas yet. “I hope so.” Was all he said. I nodded and closed my eyes, even though with all the events of today leaving me like I would never be able to sleep again I felt how stiff and sore my body was and how exhausted I really felt. “Goodnight Thomas.” I turned from him and looked at the stars threw the gaps in the ceiling, my eyelids fell over my eyes and I was asleep within seconds.

You turned the tap and the water came pouring out, you waited for it to heat up before you stepped under the it. You and the boys were back in another dingy hotel, working on cases while trying to stop Lilith from breaking the seals. The boys had gone out for some food, so you finally got a chance to hang out in the room by yourself. It had felt like you hadn’t had a shower in years, in this job you were constantly covered in blood or dirt so taking a shower was always like a fresh start. You ran your hands through your Y/H/C coloured hair and washed out as much grease from it as you could. You grabbed a shaver from the shelf and hacked at the hair on your legs then washed yourself with the complimentry body wash that smelt mostly of chemicals. You stepped out of the shower and wrapped yourself in a towel, you always forgot to bring in clean clothes when you got into the shower. You dried your hair and gave it a brush before putting it up into a messy bun on your head. You opened the door into the bedroom to get dressed when you notice Dean sitting at the table eating a slice of pie. “What the hell, I thought you guys went out to eat” you held onto the towel to stop it from falling down. “We got it to go.” Dean mumbled, his mouth full of food. Dean’s eyes wondered over your body, he had seen you in less before but it had been a while since that night. You grabbed your clothes and headed back into the bathroom to change, Dean didn’t take his eyes of you until you closed the door. You walked back out after a minute in one of Dean’s old tshirts (You didn’t really have much clothes with you so you took all the hand-me-downs you could get) that almost covered your knees. Dean liked it when you would wear his clothes. “Did you get me anything” you ask, hopeing he brought you back something to eat. He passed you a burger and you took a seat next to him. “Where’s Sam?” you ask, taking a bite into your food. “He went to do some research on the case.” you looked over to Sam’s bed, his laptop sitting in the middle of it. “Without his laptop?” you ask, Dean just gave you a shrug and took a sip from his beer. “So what do we know about this case?” you picked up Dean’s beer and take a sip, he gives you a half annoyed, half flirty look, you knew that you had been teasing him after the way you saw him looking at you and you liked it, being in control for once. “Just the usual, woman goes crazy murders her husband and then goes on a killing spree, after she was caught claimed she didn’t remember a thing, said she was possesed.”
You were leaving the police station, you had interveiwed the woman who had killed those people. Her story seemed to fit with any typical demon possession. Now you just had to figure out why. You and Dean made your way back to the motel to meet up with Sam and fill him in on what you had found out. Dean opened the door to the motel room and all of a sudden he fell to the ground, he had been knocked out by a tall, skinny man, another 2 men where standing behind him, there eyes flashed black and you knew right away. The skinny man walked up to you and punched you hard in the gut, you fell to your knees holding your stomach, groaning in pain. “Long time no see” he says to you, you were confused, you dont think you had ever me this demon before, you couldn’t think about it much longer before he knocked you out with the back of your gun. You woke up tied to a chair in a dark room. You could feel your hands and feet had been tied to the limbs of a chair. you tried to lift your head but your whole body seiezed in pain, you assumed the demon must have gone a few rounds with you while you were passed out. Your eyes finally adjusted to the dark room and you could see a few objects around you, you looked over to your right and see Dean tied up like you were, still knocked out. “Dean” you whisper to him, you didn’t want to alert the Demons and let them know you had woken up. “Dean” you whisper again a little louder. You see his head move and his body shift, when he finally came to he tried to free himself from the ropes but it seemed to be know use. “Y/N, you ok,” you gave yourself a quick once over on your body, making sure you had no serious damage. “Yea, I think so” you reply. “What about you?” Dean did the same and checked his body for anything. “Yea, im fine” you wait a second and have another look around the room for anyhing that could help determine where you are, or could help get you out. “So whats the plan Dean?” it wouldn’t be long until the Demons would barge through the door and probably kill the both of you. “Im thinking!” Dean sounded agetatted, he must be at a lose for anyway of breaking free. The door infront of you swings open and the same man from the motel stood before you, he walked in and turned on the light, It looked as if you were in a factory wearhouse somewhere. “Well, if it aint the dead daddy’s club.” the demon looks at Dean then at You, he gives you an evil grin. “And who the hell are you suppose to be?” Dean asks, that all to familiar sarcastic voice was back. “Well Dean we havn’t had the pleasure yet, but I’v heard all about you.” Dean gave the demon his usual smirk “I know, I’m kinda a celebrity.” Dean laughes, followed by a painful cough. The demon turns back to you, he started walking around you, touching your hair, then you bareskin. “Don’t touch her, you bastard” Dean warned. “It’s ok Dean, me and Y/N go way back.” you were confused, you don’t remember who this demon was. “Y/N, you don’t remember? oh that’s to bad we had so much fun together. You and your Daddy had been tracking me down, trying to ruin the fun I was having” you stopped yourself from going back to that night, the one you had tried to forget. “Your Daddy found me and trapped me didnt he, tried to exorcise me” you couldn’t hear the rest, you didn’t want to. “Shut up, just Shut up!” you yelled pulling at the ropes on your arms, wishing yourself loose so you could jump on the son of a bitch and kill him. “But Daddy was a little rusty, made a mistake and I got free. then you walked in, and then we had our fun didn’t we.” Dean was looking at you, but you couldn’t look back. “Don’t listen to him Y/N, he just trying to mess with your head” He wanted to help you but he didn’t know how, he was useless tied up like this. “I made you watch didn’t I, as I tore your Daddy limb from limb” you stopped struggling and your head dropped “I’m going to kill you” you said in a low voice, barley audible. “What was that?” the demon asked. You lifted your head back up and stared at him. You tried your best not to show any fear. “I said, Im going to fucking KILL YOU!” the demon just laughs at you, tearing you up inside. “So what you kidnapped us and now your going to kill us?” Dean asks, he knew you couldnt take much more of his taunting. “Not yet, you know Lilith want’s your brothers head on a spike.” “So this is a trap then? for Sam?” the demon holds up his hand “Ding, Ding, Ding, you’ve hit the jackpot” Dean shakes his head with a smirk on his face, “You think Sam will fall for this?” the demon stops in front of Dean and leans down so they are face to face. “I’m counting on it.” The demon raises his hand and you feel like all the bones in your body begin to break, and your throat closes up. You heard a loud commotion in the other room and suddenly preassure on your body was gone. The door slams open and Sam is standing there, a woman standing next to him and the other demons were lying on the floor. “Well Sam it’s about time you showed up.” Sam held up his hand to the demon and closed his eyes. The demon started shaking and black smoke started to exit his mouth, you couldn’t believe what you were seeing, Sam was excorsising a demon with his mind.
You were back at the motel, your body ached all over. Sam and Dean where outside fighting over what Sam had just done. So you thought it was best to just get out of their way. You pulled of your clothes and put on Dean’s old tshirst, you could hear Dean yelling outside at his brother and he sounded pissed. You sat on Dean’s bed and waited while the boys figured their shit out. To be honest you agreed with Dean, that what Sam was doing was crazy and Ruby was bad news. You knew well enough that all demon’s were just...evil. Dean swung open the door to the motel room and slammed it right behind him, Sam didn’t follow. He walked over to the fridge and pulled out a beer. It was a little awkward, you could tell Dean was angry still and you thought if you said anything to him now he might take it out on you. So you just sat on his bed in silence. Two beers later and finally Dean spoke. “I can’t believe him” you really didn’t want to get yourself involved in the brothers fight, it was a complex relationship they had. “He did save our life.” you say, Dean looked at you with the same eye’s he was giving your brother on the car ride home. “He can exorcise demons with his mind Y/N, thats not normal” you nodded your head, agreeing with him. There was another long pauce before anyone spoke, “So that demon, he killed your dad?” you went silent, “I don’t want to talk about it.” you say. “Look it’s ok, I know what its --” you cut him short “I said I dont want to talk about it Dean” you stood up facing him with your arms crossed. “I just think, it helps to talk about it” you opened you eyes wide, really? you thought, he was such hypocryte. “Ok you want an open hour, lets talk about you huh? what do you remember from hell Dean?” Dean stood up and moved towards you, aggetated that you had brought this topic of conversation up. “I told you, I dont remember a god damn thing.” you knew the truth though, you had known Dean long enough now to know when he was lying. “So the nightmares, they have nothing to do with it?” Dean looked away from you, he was upset. “I don’t know what your talking about.” “Come on Dean, I know you” you move towards him, you were only a few inches away. “What do you want me to say?” Dean yelled, he had never acted like this around you, he was usually calm and gentel with you but this was a knew side of Dean you had never seen before. “I remember everything ok, I remember every god damn thing that happened to me down there. Not only that but 4 months in the pit, it’s like 40 years.” You wanted to reach out and touch him, comfort him but you were frozen. He continued, it was like he had been holding this in and needed to let it out to somene, someone he trusted. “They, uh... They sliced and carved and tore at me in ways that you... Until there was nothing left. And then, suddenly... I would be whole again... like magic... just so they could start in all over. And this demon, Alastair... at the end of every day... every one... he would come over. And he would make me an offer. To take me off the rack... if I put souls on... if I started the torturing. And every day, I told him to stick it where the sun shines. For 30 years, I told him. But then I couldn't do it anymore, Y/N. I couldn't. And I got off that rack. God help me, I got right off it, and I started ripping them apart. I lost count of how many souls.” you noticed his were glassy and filling up with water.  “The -- the things that I did to them. “How I feel... This... inside me... I wish I couldn't feel anything, Y/N I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing.” You knew there was nothing you could say to help him or make it better. You put your hand on his cheek and he leaned into it. You move in and press your lips against his. It was all you could think to do and it seemed to work as you felt his heart beat slow under your hand which was resting on his chest. You pulled away and looked at him. He had a look of shock on his face, you guess he wasn’t expecting what had just happened. For second you thought maybe that wasn’t what he wanted but Dean grabbed the back of your neck and kissed you again, harder. You reached up and put your arms around his neck, you needed to be as close to him as you could get, to make sure he knew you were there. You and Dean needed each other more than you had realised until this moment. Dean started to pick up the pace, the kiss went from gentle to passionate and you let your hands down from his neck to his chest. Dean’s lips wondered from your mouth to your neck and you let out a small moan. That must have set him off because Dean picked you up and pushed you against the wall. You pulled off Dean’s shirt and threw it down on the ground, you let your hands move all around his upper body, taking in how he felt under your finger tips. One of Dean’s hands was still on your ass, holding you up on him, the other was exploring under your top. He moved you over to the bed and pulled your top over your head. You were left basically naked and you had a moment of embarasment, but Dean made you feel comfortable. He placed kisses all over your body, making you moan with each touch. You pulled off his jeans and you were in the exact same position as that night a year ago, you half expected Dean’s phone to ring again or for Sam to walk back through the door, but nothing happened. It was just you and Dean, and for once, in a very long time, you felt genuinly happy.
You woke at around 3am in the morning, Dean had sprung up from the bed sweating and panting, it had been another nightmare. But this time it was different, this time you were there to bring him back to reality. You kissed Dean’s cheek and he turned to look at you. “It’s ok, I’m here.” You both lie back down on the bed you rest your head on Dean’s chest and he warps an arm around you. This felt like what you to had been designed for, to comfort one another, that you would always be there for each other no matter what. “Thank you” you heard Dean whisper to you, you lifted your head from his chest and moved up to his lips, the kiss threatened to become passionate again but you were both exahused so you broke away and layed back down. Even though the world was literally going to shit, and an apocolypse was just begining you had never felt safer than you did right now in Dean’s arms.
To Be Continued...
