I love how there's a thick, dark substance deep within the earth that was formed by the deaths of billions of lifeforms and has been trapped there for millions of years, that when harvested can weild such great powers that leaders are willing to start wars and slaughter millions just for it, however using said powers causes the very weather of our world to become corrupted, and yet we decide to name it after fucking olive juice.

It’s uncanny how similar Trump is acting like Hitler. People are now doing the Nazi salute. They’re drawing the symbol. The KKK was seen in Kentucky asking people to join them. ICE has been ripping families apart. Companies have pulled back Diversity Initiatives. We’re no longer part of WHO and there won’t be any communication from the CDC at least until February 1st. We’re being censored and the news can’t be trusted. Thousands of Americans didn’t know there were protests against Trump yesterday outside the U.S. Quotes from The Handmaid’s Tale and Anne Frank have been compared to what’s going on right now.
According to The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Studies and Prevention the U.S. has officially been given a red flag alert for Genocide.
I’m exhausted but I will never stop being angry.

[The Republican Administration] has ordered the CDC to not report on this"

REC: aletterinthenameofsanity - there's a special place where boys and girls can all be queens
URL: https://ift.tt/iBzSPst by @aletterinthenameofsanity Queerness is a…complicated thing for Edwin Payne. Edwin has always existed at an intersection, in this strange place between far too obvious and not obvious enough. Boring by many standards, too exciting by many others. Too queer to be considered acceptable, literally killed because of the way that he moved and expressed himself, but too old-fashioned to advance with the times. Edwin wears queerness in the way that others wear clothing. It clings to his skin in a way that could never be ignored. He is comfortable in who he is. In his own body. In the way that he moves. And despite the fact that he was killed for it, he has never sought to change that. Charles never made him feel uncomfortable in that part of himself. As a result, no one was shocked when he came out. Crystal smirked, Charles said "it didn’t change a thing," Niko welcomed him with open arms and offered him her “sweet but explicit” stories to read. But he worries, sometimes, that what he is, how he presents himself, is not enough for Charles. For the world that has emerged since Edwin lived. At least two major artists (Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan) making a point to vocally support trans people the Grammys is a big deal in this political climate.

Correct: the way Charles has chronic heart eyes for Edwin
Also correct: the way Edwin looks at Charles in return because he is utterly gone for him.

Workflows in federal agencies are not perfect but you know who the problems are NEVER caused by? The disabled employees. The employees at my agency who have intellectual or physical disabilities work diligently and do their jobs well. DEI hiring practices in federal government offered steady jobs with good benefits to the people of this country who are capable but otherwise may not have been given a chance.

hey there, regarding spamming government snitch lines:
since rb'ing this post, i've built a simple email bot to spam these snitch lines. it has its base functionality now, and i wanted to share what i learned from the statistics provided by mailtrap.io.
out of 40 emails (20 to [email protected], 20 to [email protected] -- which regards reporting undocumented immigrants), with copypasta and/or randomized madlibs-esque content:
100% of emails were "delivered" successfully.
no emails have been opened by the undocumented migrant line.
all emails have been opened by the DEIA line.
DEIAtruth's inbox provider is microsoft's office 365; senate.minority's inbox provider is proofpoint email protection.
these results inspired some further research:
microsoft provides this "power automate" service that can be programmed to automatically handle incoming mail.
proofpoint has a default antivirus and spam-checking process flow for inbound mail.
i could not find any proofpoint equivalent of power automate.
i'm not entirely sure what to make of this -- if this means all of my emails made it past proofpoint's spam filter as they were marked delivered; if DEIAtruth is set up to scan and dump spam based on the internet's reaction to the snitch line in the past week; if the emails are sitting in senate.minority's inbox waiting to be opened. i am sharing this information in hopes of piecing together what is effective, however i have very limited means of discovering signs of effectiveness. they could very easily block the domain these emails are being sent from and be done with me (if my emails are even identified as significant amidst the incoming spam).
i will be targeting another opm.gov address next, which could provide more information.
i may share the spam script i've built: anyone who owns a domain and has access to their DNS certificate management can set it up and customize the copypastas and madlibs. in fact, if you are new to webstuff, i would suggest this might be a good introduction.
finally, for your reference, snitch lines to do with as you wish:

As of Jan 21st, 2025, a full copy of the constitution is no longer available on whitehouse.gov. I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the biggest threat to authoritarianism and facism is a well educated and informed population. Inform yourself and fight.
a copy of the document can still be found on the archives website. I think now is probably a good time to read it if you haven't and download it, incase it is erased from here as well.

reminders:
if you or someone you know might need it in the next few years, purchase plan b. the shelf life of plan b is 4 years, and we might not be able to access it as easily as we can now in the days ahead.
if you are larger/plus size: go online and purchase ella instead of plan b. plan b is less effective if you aren’t under 160 pounds.
if you can, purchase books that project 2025 is looking to ban.
mass deportations are starting. if you see ice vehicles or agents, yell ice raid and la migra as loud as you can.
if someone asks who you voted for, keep your mouth shut. they’re fishing for traitors.
if anyone, anyone at all asks about your neighbors or their legal status in the us, you know nothing. don’t be the reason that their family is separated.
if anyone asks about your religion or lack thereof, keep it vague. this administration will look for any excuse to persecute you.
your friends are trans or queer? for the next four years they’re not. don’t expose anyone’s status as a trans or queer person to anyone else, even if you think you can trust them.
did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. they were never pregnant.
in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.
we can survive this. we’ve survived before, and we’ll survive again.

Americans, I know we're going through it, but why do I keep seeing stuff like "I'm sorry world, we'll fix this in 4 years"? But like... what do you mean "4 years"?
We have midterm in 2026, yearly local elections, special elections, primaries, etc.
We have the right (dare I say responsibility) to contact our representatives and the right to organize and protest if/when they don't listen.
We need to find a meaningful way to educate people about propaganda and media literacy. We need to convince people to be willing to educate themselves. The habit of only checking in to politics on presidential election years needs broken.
I understand how defeating today feels, but we, especially those of us who could conceivably make it through these four years unscathed, need to stop this proactive surrender.

Ryan Adamczeski at The Advocate:
Michigan's hate crime law has been updated to include sexual orientation and gender identity after Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed several bills into law last week. House Bills 5400 and 5401 amend the definition and sentencing guidelines of the state's 1988 “ethnic intimidation” statute to include sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, and age, designating them as protected groups against hate crimes if they are found to be a motivating factor for violent behavior.
State Attorney General Dana Nessel, who is an out lesbian, said in a statement that “it’s incumbent upon those of us with the authority to unilaterally denounce such sentiments; otherwise, there’s no stopping this behavior." “Over the past decade, we have seen not just an uptick in hate crimes, but a normalization of racist, antisemitic and bigoted language, symbolism and actions – including a close adviser to the President giving the Nazi salute during an inaugural rally just this week,” Nessel said. "I applaud the Governor for signing these long overdue changes to the state’s statutes.” The bill amending the hate crime statute's definition was first introduced by Democratic state Rep. Noah Arbit in 2023, but failed to pass after conservatives falsely claimed that the law made it a felony to misgender someone. Arbit noted in a conversation with CBS at the time that the bill did not contain the word "misgender" in its entire text, calling the claims "far-right fiction."
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) signs hate crime laws protecting sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or age status.
