Silver lining // Brant (Wuwa) x Reader
(Congrats to those for who pulled for this gorgeous man! For those who haven't, may all Brant wanters be Brant havers! :D)
(CW: Mention of alcohol towards the end)
Splash!
The cold ocean water enveloped you as you sunk. You frantically swam up to the surface. With your head bobbing above water, you looked around for anything to cling onto. Fortunately, there was a driftwood floating not too far away from you. You swam towards it and struggled to hold onto it for dear life against the turbulent waters. You shivered, feeling your eyelids drooping but you tried to stay awake.
Just then, you spotted a ship. In a hoarse voice, you called for help but you weren't sure if the people on board could hear you over the howl of the wind. Your eyes slowly shut, exhaustion finally getting the best of you, and everything went dark...
xxx xxx
" -- alright?"
"I can feel a pulse so hopefully they are. Hey, can you hear me?"
You slowly opened your eyes. Two figures looked at you in concern. One was a male with short teal hair, purple eyes and a feathered hat and the other was a female with long, two-toned hair tied in bunches and heterochromia. The two of them heaved a sigh of relief seeing you had regained consciousness.
"You're awake! How are you feeling?" the male asked, smiling.
"W--what happened?" you mumbled, disorientated. You combed through your memories, trying to remember what had happened before you lost consciousness. When you finally remembered, you asked if they were the ones who rescued you.
"That's right. Lady Luck smiled upon you. You were suffering from hypothermia. If we came any later -- "
It was then that you realised that you were covered in layers of blankets and was wearing a new change of clothes. They must had done that to alleviate your hypothermia. A warm feeling coursed through you at the thought. The male shook his head, his smile fading for a brief moment before returning. "Anyway, we've made some soup for you. I'll go get it. While I'm at it, is there anything else you need?" You shook your head.
"No, I'm good. Thank you --?"
"Ah, yes. Where are my manners?" the male took off his hat and bowed. "I'm Brant, captain of the Troupe of Fools. And she's Roccia, my First Mate." Roccia shyly nodded her head in greeting which you reciprocated.
"Thank you, captain," you smiled weakly. You introduced yourself to him and Roccia.
"A pleasure to meet you, (Y/N)," Brant grinned. "I'll go now. Rest well. If you need anything, Roccia will be here." You watched as he exited the room, leaving just you and Roccia. An awkward silence filled the air. You hesitantly asked about the well-being of the people who had boarded the same ship as you. Roccia informed you that they had rescued a few people who might be them, much to your relief. You were, of course, devastated that some could not be found but at least there were survivors. The two of you moved on to other topics and you even got to meet the adorable Pero.
Brant eventually came back with the soup. You gratefully took the bowl and had some of the soup. You nodded your head in approval.
"It's delicious," you remarked, having some more of it.
"Glad you like it," Brant smiled. His face turned serious. "I assume you and your crewmates were sent on a pilgrimage by the Order?" You nodded silently, hanging your head.
"I figure as much. Only those going on the Pilgrim's Sail would pass through there," the captain sighed. The corners of his lips curled into a grin. "Since you're already dubbed a Fool by the Order, why don't you join our Troupe?" You pondered for a moment. It wasn't like you had anywhere else to go anyway since you were essentially an exile. Besides, Brant seemed genuine. You nodded your head. The male's grin widened.
"Welcome aboard, (Y/N). I look forward to seeing your performance, both on stage and off stage."

"What do you think, captain?"
"Impressive. You have a talent for script writing," Brant grinned, giving you a friendly pat on the back. "With that said, it could use a little tweaking to make the dialogue flow more naturally."
"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind as I edit the script," you smiled bashfully, your heart fluttering.
"Splendid," the captain nodded, a twinkle in his eyes. "By the way, how is life with us so far?"
"It's been great so far. There's always something interesting going on and the people here are very welcoming. It helps that a few of my crewmates are here as well."
"Good, good," Brant smiled, his expression softening. "That reminds me -- " He snapped his fingers. In a burst of purple flames, a mask materialised. He handed it to you.
"For you, my friend. Roccia and I came up with the design and we think this best suits you. Now you're officially part of the troupe!" he grins. You took the mask from him, thanking him and remarking how gorgeous it looked. You attached it to your belt.
"My pleasure," the male bowed. "Come on. Let's go have lunch. All this work as captain has worked me up an appetite!" Taking your hand, the two of you headed to the dining area.

"I'm sorry, you want me to what?"
"You heard me! I want you to play the lead role in our upcoming play," Brant beamed.
"B--but I've never done this before. What if I mess up?"
"That, my dear (Y/N), is what rehearsals are for!" the captain assured you. He looked at you sincerely. "I can't think of anyone more suitable for the role than you. Besides, don't you wanna act out the script you worked so hard on?"
"Well..." you considered for a moment before nodding. "Alright. I'll give it a go."
"That's the spirit!" Brant ruffled your hair. "Don't worry, I'll be here with you every step of the way." He winked. You smiled a little, anticipation bubbling inside you despite still having a little reservations.
"Aye, captain."
xxx xxx
You peaked out from the backstage. The audience was abuzz with excitement, chattering away. Your heart thudded wildly against your chest and your hands felt clammy with sweat.
"Is nerves getting to you, dear (Y/N)?"
You whipped your head around to see the captain, his usual easygoing grin on his face. You nodded.
"There are a lot of people out there. The last thing I want is to disappoint them and the troupe. What if they don't like my performance? What if I say the wrong lines? What if I --?"
Before you could continue, a familiar-looking hat was placed on top of your head. Surprised, your attention found its way back to the now hatless Brant. He gave you a gentle smile.
"Look. You've been doing wonderfully during rehearsals. Also, do you remember what we stand for?"
"Freedom and bringing laughter through tales."
"Mmmhmm. And to get the audience to enjoy themselves, we ourselves have to enjoy performing. So relax and have fun. You got this!" he winked. You smiled a little, feeling the tension in you loosening.
"You're right. I can do this. Thank you, Brant," you said softly. Brant took his hat from you and grinned.
"Then let's get this show on the road, shall we?"
xxx xxx
"To yet a successful show!"
The clinking of glasses resounded through the dining hall as everyone made a toast. Everyone was in high spirits, you could pratically feel it in the air. A broad smile crossed Brant's face. He lifted his glass once again.
"All of you did great tonight, from the actors to the backstage crew. It's because of everyone's efforts that the show was a success. Let's keep this up and may our future performances be just as spectacular or even more than this one! Cheers!"
Everyone raised their glasses, cheering. After taking a sip of his drink, the teal-haired male walked towards you.
"Amazing job earlier. Told ya you can do it!" he grinned, wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
"Thank you. You did great as well," you beamed. It had still rather been nerve-wrecking at first but heeding Brant's advice helped. There were, of course, still areas of improvement such as your line delivery needing to be more smooth and expressive. With that said, you hadn't done too bad for your first performance if you did say so yourself. Overall, you were just delighted and relieved that your hard work had bore fruit.
"Glad that you like my performance!" Brant laughed heartily. His expression turned sincere. "Seriously though. I applaud you for being able to get over your nerves rather quickly."
"Haha. You flatter me," you laughed sheepishly, your cheeks flushing.
"But I mean it and it isn't the alcohol talking," the captain chuckled. The two of you then happily talked about other things, taking sips of your drinks in between.
"Nothing beats a good drink and good company on this fine, celebratory night," Brant remarked, swirling his drink. You nodded, sipping your drink.
"Yeah. I look forward to more of this," you beamed. Brant returned your smile.
"Same here," he agreed. Hearing Tina calling his name, he excused himself and told you to enjoy the rest of the celebrations. You assured him that you would. You smiled, watching him leave. Despite having the misfortune of becoming an exile, a couple of good things came out if it: meeting the captain and finding a group of people whom you could call family.

this fundraiser is extremely low on funds and has only received one donation in two days
Amina is a 28 year old mother of three: Nasser (8), Bara (4) and Adam (2). She’s fundraising in hopes of saving her children from this genocide and getting the money to feed them and give them a safe future. They’ve already been displaced five times and are struggling very badly to find food and water and everything they need to survive, and even when they find it it’s extremely expensive. It’s every parents worst nightmare to see their children suffering but not have the means to give them food and get them to safety. These children deserve to live healthy and safe, not have to hear the sounds of bombs every day. Amina is not asking for much, only whatever you can give to save her children. If you have any money to give today, please consider helping Amina or at least share this post so it can reach people who will. They only have €2,288 raised, which is only 5% of their goal and have only received €5 in the past three days. we can change that!

Bungee jump // Kinich (GI) x reader
You looked down from the bungee tower, body harness strapped on. You gulped. Goodness was it high up here. Things below looked like specks to you.
"Hey! Are you going to do this or not?" Ajaw huffed. "You're wasting our time here!"
"Ignore him. You don't have to do this if you don't want to," Kinich assured you, clapping your shoulder. A hint of concern etched on his features. You sent him a grateful look. You told him that you still wanted to bungee jump, trying to put on a brave front despite your racing heart. You wanted to face your fears. Besides, you trust Kinich.
"... Alright then. Just know that I'll ensure your safety," Kinich responded. You smiled a little despite yourself and nodded.
"Actually..." you hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you mind if we do this together? I think it'll be less scary for me." Kinich's expression softened slightly before agreeing. He gave a rundown on what to note safety wise and whatnot before attaching the bungee cord to his and your harnesses.
"We'll jump on the count of 3, ok?" he said, wrapping his arms around your waist and holding you close. You voiced your agreement, nodding. You could feel his strong, steady heartbeat which helped you calm down a little.
"Break a leg, you two! Better yet, break your neck, Kinich!" Ajaw sneered.
"..."
You watched, amused, as an unfazed Kinich put the self-proclaimed 'Almighty Dragonlord' in timeout, the latter cursing and complaining as he did so. All your earlier nerves seemed to have dissipated in an instance. Seeing that you looked much more relaxed, a barely noticeable smile tugged at the corner of Kinich's lips.
"Ready?"
"Yes."
"1... 2... 3."
Shrieking, you found yourself plummeting along with Kinich, the view whizzing by in a blur. Kinich tightly held you, a constant and reassuring reminder that he was with you. The bungee cord swung up and down until it came to a stop. Kinich flipped the both of you such that you were right-side up.
"Look at the view but try not to look down."
With your heart still racing from adrenaline, you did as told and gasped. The view was amazing from here. You could see most of the Scions of the Canopy, from the lush greenery to the cliffs.
"Wow, it's beautiful."
Kinich hummed in agreement. He gently squeezed your hand, softly telling you that you did well conquering your fear. A warm feeling coursed through you. You beamed at him.
"It's thanks to you."
"Alright, alright. Stop with the mushy stuff already," Ajaw complained.
"Alright, alright," Kinich answered, mild annoyance in his voice. As much as he wanted to put Ajaw in timeout longer, he needed his help to get back up. He turned his attention back to you. "Ready to head back?"
"Yeah. I wanna do this again, this time by myself," you answered, giving him a determined look. Kinich looked at you for a moment, his calm yellow eyes filled with approval and pride, before nodding.
"Of course."

Having him as a duelling partner // Yuto, Yugo (YGO! Arc-V) and Yudias Velgear (YGO! Go Rush!!) & reader
(Inspired by Cross Duels which unfortunately has ended its services)
Yuto
You were intrigued by the XYZ duelist when you first duelled him. He might seem stoic but from the way he dueled, you could tell that he was kind and merciful. So wanting to get to know him, you asked him to be your tag partner after the duel. To your surprise and delight, he agreed to it. Apparently, he was curious about you as well.
Whenever you doubt yourself whatsoever, Yuto was always there to encourage you with a soft smile. He was also protective. Even though tve Interdimensional War was over, it still had an effect on him. He couldn't help making sure that you were alright physically and emotionally. You would assure him that you were alright, even though you didn't know what was the cause of his worry at first. You did your best to support him, both during and outside duels as well.
If the two of you won a duel, Yuto would warmly congratulate on a job well down. Grinning, you would give him a fist bump, saying that he did well too. On the other hand, if you lost, Yuto would comfort you, telling you that you did your best and that the two of you would do better next time. You would nod, smiling a little.
"You know, I used to enjoy duelling, playing with Shun and others back at Heartland Academy but after the Academia attacked, I was forced to view dueling as a means of survival instead. It was you and Yuya who helped me find the fun in dueling again. For that, thank you."
"It's nothing. That's what partners and friends are for."
Yugo
Yugo was the one to offer you to tag team. He had a lot of fun duelling against. Besides, he needed a partner. You readily agreed, sharing his sentiments.
Yugo would cheer you on when it's your turn during duels (and outside of duels). Seeing his grin would give you the confidence you need. You would cheer for him as well when it was his turn.
As Yugo tended to be hotheaded, you had to calm him down if opponents or anyone else offended him (by saying his name wrong, etc.). Your soothing words would do the trick and Yugo would mutter that he was letting the person off easily because of his partner, making you chuckle.
The two of you would often engage in friendly bickering. But the two of you would try to not let the little arguments get in the way of duels... most of the time.
If the two of you won, you would high-five each other, smiling brightly. Yugo would remark that the two of you made a really good team (or something along those lines) to which you agreed happily. However, if you lost, Yugo would feel bummed at first. He would then check on you to make sure you were alright and cheer you up by taking you on a ride on his D-Wheel, treating you, saying encouraging words, etc.
"Hey, just wanna say thanks for being my partner. I have a lot of fun dueling alongside you. You never fail to amaze me with your dueling skills and to help me improve as a duelist. I couldn't ask for anyone more fitting to be my partner."
"Thanks! You're pretty awesome yourself. Here's to a long partnership!"
Yudias
The serious yet dorky alien amazed you with his potential and passion for Rush Duels. And so you eagerly invited him to be your tag partner. He agreed without hesitation, seeing a kindred spirit in you. Moreover, it was nice to have another human friend.
Being an alien, he could come off as... eccentric but you got used to it, even finding it charming. He was also curious about Earth culture (aside from Rush Duels) and would you about it. You, too, would ask about the culture of his people.
Because of your kindness and patience in teaching Yudias, the 8.8 million Velgearians aboard the Valvelgear liked you, acknowledging you as one of them. You, too, were fond of them, giving them gifts, talking with them and such.
As you were the more experienced between the two, you would give tips to Yudias and coached him (Fortunately, your training sessions weren't as vigorous as a certain actress's...). The Velgearian took your advice and training sessions seriously and was grateful for help.
The two of you would support each other during and outside duels. If the two of you won, you would give each other a thumbs up, grinning. If you lost, the two of you would of course feel disappointed but motivated to improve.
"Thank you for teaming up with me and for teaching me about Rush Duels, my dear friend and comrade. You and our friends have helped me understand Rush Duels better. It's been fun as well."
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)!"
"My pleasure, Yudias! I enjoy having you as my partner as well! Let's continue to work hard!"
"UTS!"

Knowing the enemy // Blitzwing (TfA) & reader
"Now wear did I put the syringes?" you muttered, looking around. After combing around the medical bay, you managed to find said items sitting on a table. Letting out a quiet 'aha', you grabbed the syringes and placed them in the box you were carrying. As you did so, you spotting the band on your wrist. The Decepticons had put it on you to keep track of your movements and to harm you if you were to do anything rash. It was a constant reminder that you were their prisoner. You frowned. You hoped that the Autobots and Sari were alright. As much as you trust the Autobots to take care of the young girl, you couldn't help worry about Sari. She was your charge, after all. You had to escape from here and reunite with them. Somehow.
Your pondering was interrupted by the sound of the doors opening. Random entered the medical bay, greeting you and asking what you were doing.
"What does it look like to you?" you asked, smiling. However, your smile didn't reach your eyes and your voice dripped with sarcasm. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you looked at it), Random didn't pick up on your sarcasm and instead chattered on. You sighed and decided to ignore him, hoping that he would take the hint and leave you alone. However, the Deception still continued talking.
"Could you please shut up!" you yelled, your patience finally running out. Random looked bewildered to say the least but before he could speak, you continued, "Do you not get it the first time? I don't wish to talk to you, who is part of the group that holds me hostage and blackmailss me into work with them so that those I care about won't get harmed. So please kindly get out. I want to be left alone." Random, although seeming reluctant, did as told. As soon as he left, you gritted your teeth, trying to stop the tears that threatened to spill, before resuming your work.
After a while, you had calmed down and was about to finish the sorting the medical supplies when there was a knock on the door.
"Hey, can I come in?" Random asked.
"Yes, you can," you agreed. Random entered the medical bay hesitantly.
"Sorry about earlier. I haven't interacted much with you humans aside from you know, harming you guys. Besides, you seem nice. Nicer than my teammates, anyway," he apologised. You raised an eyebrow. Dang. The Decepticons were a terrible bunch for him to think that way. Not that you didn't know that, of course.
"Eh, it's fine," you waved a hand. "I could have made myself clearer." An awkward silence fell between the two of you before you spoke, "I there's anything you're curious about or you just want to talk to me in general, feel free to do so. Just... don't expect me to reveal anything that may give me or the Autobots any disadvantage."
"Really?"
"Of course. Unless you want me to change my mind," you shrugged.
"Of course not!" Random hurriedly replied.
"Good. Now if there's nothing else, you may go. I have things to do," you said.
"Alright. See you around, human."
"See you."
