but what if instead of Resume aging super quick and being all special, she’s like a normal kid? And Bella decides she doesn’t want children? Edward never expressed a want for kids either and they talk about it like actual adults? She wants to continue living her human life before turning and sees there are others who would much rather have a child than her? Like idk maybe Rosalie?

AU where Bella decides she wants Rose and Emmett to adopt the baby who they name Lillian Marie after her moms. Rosalie is okay with Lillian knowimg who her birth mom is when she’s older and once she gets older she makes Rosalie break down by saying “Bella might be my birth mom but you��re my Mom mom”.

And like Charlie knows about Lillian and Rose and Em is more than happy to let him be the grandpa he wants to be because Charlie reminds Rose of her dad. Bella and Edward are more than happy to just be the cool (and slightly embarrassing) aunt and uncle.

And no imprinting. That isn’t even up for discussion.

Folks, friends, y’all…. esk*mo is a slur. I understand a lot of people don’t know that, I don’t want to be a dick about it, but I’ve been seeing it in fics. Wanna write “esk*mo kisses”? Just say “nuzzled noses” or something.

I’m not here to call anybody out, it’s been in multiple fics, I’m not vague posting. This is just a psa. 👍🏻

(this quote is an extra good example, because its said to Horatio, who acts as the audience's voice, the everyman boyfriend sidekick. it's not just a reminder to Horatio, it's a request to all those who witness tragedy to do it the honor of seeing it, rather than giving up too)

I think a surprising amount of writers don’t realize that tragedies are supposed to be cathartic. They’re intended to result in a purging of emotion, a luxurious cry; the sorrow caused by a great tragedy is akin to fear caused by a good horror movie – it’s a “safe” sorrow, one that is actually satisfying to the audience. It can still be beautiful! It’s isn’t supposed to just be salting the earth so nothing can grow.

But that’s how you get grimdark: writers who don’t realize that they’re supposed to be doing something with the audience instead of to the audience.
