Hi
I made a new blog to use more as a catalogue/braindump of things I’m interested in, photography, music, things I’m reading, and more of my own original thoughts instead of just re-blogs. Follow me there because I’m done on this blog. http://dumpbrain.tumblr.com

Quote
I also love the man, his serenely contemplative, kindly-mischievous air, the fine, deep glance of his poor weak eyes, which with their blueness light up the gaunt, sharply cut face of an old Swabian peasant.
When Hermann Hesse (b. July 2, 1877) turned 60, his dear friend Thomas Mann wrote this beautiful tribute. (via explore-blog)

The continuation of a one sided conversation between artists Jesse Draxler and Richard Prince. Throughout his path as a young artist Draxler has made multiple references to Richard Prince in his ongoing conceptual & text oriented works, and in interviews has cited Prince as one of his biggest artistic influences - particularly Prince’s 2007/2008 exhibition Spiritual America.
On occasion, through the use of social media, Prince has “liked” Draxler’s work both directly and indirectly and once began following him on Twitter - only to unfollow shortly thereafter.
This untitled work is a documentation of a series of social media events in which Prince “liked” a tweet that Draxler’s work was referenced in. Being that Prince had been in the news quite a bit recently for his new Instagram pieces, Draxler saw the opportunity to finally make his non-opinion on the recent controversy known. Both an homage and a mockery but mostly the documentation of a moment in time, Draxler comments in Facebook post that he is going to sell a screen shot of Prince’s like notification for 100k - roughly the same price as Richard Princes controversial Instagram screencaps. To finish the piece Draxler screen caps his Facebook post, comments included, and reproduces it the same as Prince’s Instagram pieces - a 48"x65" digital print on stretched canvas.
