The hedgehog whips his head around to the voice. Sounds like.. shadow but smaller? His eyes dart around until he looks down and sees the younger hedgehog.

Oh my god. It really is just a mini shadow— sonic has to TRY and not freak out in a good way and shower this tiny guy in affection. Taking a breath, the hedgehog kneels down to the other with a warm smile.

“Uuuh hey there, little guy! Names sonic, Sonic the hedgehog! You look real familiar, yknow? Whats ya name? Uuuuh- ya want a chilidog-“

Oh, ugh, the humidity was totally ruining her quills, and the soles of boots were coated in mud, but she stopped in her tracks and turned when she heard sobbing to her right. A kid? Out here?! This late?!

C'mon, girlish intuition... it's time to kick in. She used to use it all the time, this innate dowsing...

Finding old coins in the riverbank when she was a kid, or locating Sonic whenever she heard a rumor he was somewhere, but time had passed, and she found herself using it less and less.

There! It was right there! The grass rustled a bit and Amy forced her way through the bushes, stumbling to find a tiny black hedgehog curled up near the riverbank, shivering and sobbing to themselves.

"Hey, don't worry," She called out softly, running up to the child and embracing them in her arms, "What's this about? Are you lost?"
