I feel like I am stuck in this Ally McBeal episode in which she’s waiting for him to kiss her and he just doesn’t. Like, I’ve been making it fairly obvious during the last two dates that I kind of wanna kiss him, and I am fairly sure he’s picked up on it. And why would he continue to make plans with me etc. if he wasn’t interested? I am so confused and just hoping that it’s a good sign? My mind just keeps going back to that Ally McBeal episode where Larry Paul says that he doesn’t want to rush it and ruin it by going too fast as “this could be right”....??
#sexybadassdowney is dating#sexybadassdowney is single#single life adventures#larry paul#I mean wtf#I mean he even keeps mentioning kids#but the tension is slowly driving me crazy#which in a way is a good thing but still

Robert Downey Jr.:
“I’ve seen the folks who the second they hit their critical mass, they essentially shut the door on the story of their past, who they really are, and they become this narcissistic personality disorder version of what they thought they would want to get away from, whatever injury got them to having half of their drive being to get somewhere, because then they could no longer be seen as they see themselves. It’s really tricky to see it happen. It’s another thing to be put in check by people that I’m close to that sometimes are an accessory in a creative burst. I still have little pilot fish that want to overstate that or centralize that or make it about me. I’ve noticed more and more lately that, say, we’re in a writing session, and Act Three is in desperate need of a breakthrough, and I come up with the idea. I want to, occasionally, parade around and do my ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ paw-print stomp, and I’d say, ‘First of all, it’s nice to celebrate, it’s nice to be excited, it’s another thing to sully that with your own character defects.’ Worse still, it’s a shame to not see that it’s not true, because without the context – and that’s why I love partnerships – without the context of somebody who’s actually holding the entirety of what we’re looking at and what we’re doing and what we have to accomplish, rather someone who knows all the challenges inherent in Acts One and Two, and believes, even though we’re using a bookmark where the movie ends, where the final image is, that just because it works for now, it works for now because it’s comforting, because you believe you have an end. I’ve been noticing more and more lately how partnerships and small groups of well-matched people are all equally responsible, whether you’re the front man in the band or whether you’re just mixing behind the scenes. It’s awesome.“
Guy Ritchie:
"Do I have any idea what the fuck he is talking about most of the time? No fucking way. He fucking rants, sounds very clever, and then I have to tell him: 'Repeat that, but this time fucking speak English.’ ”

Honestly, has anyone figured out how to save your settings once you’ve turned them all off? I do all of this and then click done and then you have to click accept and of course you’d assume that it would have saved what you’ve done, but it doesn’t. But if you just try to return to the tumblr main page after disabling all these without clicking accept it keeps you in a loop until you accept. And if you accept it immediately turns EVERYTHING back on, including your “Cookie Consent”. I am getting really fucking pissed off at this! Fuck you, tumblr!
Don’t just accept the new Terms of Service
Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)
OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:
Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.
My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:
Now you’ll see this page:
Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:
Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.
When we click on that one, what we will get is this:
A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.
(If you wonder how i got that number, I copied the list into excel and looked at the cell number. No way am I actually counting all those entries)

Here‘s a thought that may not go down well, but I really struggle with the concept of cultural appropriation and feel it’s mainly something white girls get upset about. Like, where does it begin, where does it stop? Who defines what’s ok and what isn’t? Is me, as a German, wearing jeans and jumpers cultural appropriation? Because it technically probably is as it’s something that came over here from the US. We adapted a lot of things from the US and the UK. So I think it is, but that’s ok. Why? Because the US is still privileged? Does this mean, by complaining about appropriating other cultures, we automatically see them as somehow ‚beneath us‘ and that’s what’s the issue? Or do I, according to tumblr, have to now find out what the heck my ancestors in 50 BC were wearing and walk around in that? Because honestly, what??

I am honestly wondering why it is/was so difficult for people to see Tony Stark as the caring person who just wanted to make things right as it was there in one way or another in all those films. Sure, maybe there were more snarky comments, but it was always there, this was always his character, basically ever since he was taken captive in Iron Man 1 after the fist, what, 15 mins?, of the very first film? That is what Tony Stark has always been all about. Owning up to mistakes, taking responsibility, trying to build a better, safer future for everyone.
„Tony: You stood by my side all these years while I reaped the benefits of destruction. Now that I'm trying to protect the people I've put in harm's way, you're going to walk out?
Pepper: You're going to kill yourself, Tony. I'm not going to be a part of it.
Tony: I shouldn't be alive... unless it was for a reason. I'm not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what I have to do. And I know in my heart that it's right.“
And before Iron Man 1, sure, he may have reaped the benefits of destruction, but I would argue that even then, he was lost, looking for meaning in his life that he couldn’t find, distracting others and himself of this hopelessness with money and women.
I personally think that this is all very very clear and obvious in Iron Man 1 and honestly, once he is in that cave, there is hardly anything smug, wisecracking or arrogant about him. In the flashback at the beginning, sure, but once he is in that cave and also once he is out, he‘s very straight forward and open. There‘s a sincerity and honesty about Tony Stark in that film that is, admittedly, a bit harder to see in most of the other movies, but it is always there.
Iron Man 2 is a prime example of Tony Stark maybe partly falling back into old patterns of behaviour to hide his true feelings, and maybe because that is what people expect of him. But even though, there are enough moments in it that let us see past his facade and which allow us to spot the frightened, hopeless guy behind the mask. He knows he is dying in that film, after all, and he feels that he cannot tell anyone as he doesn’t want people, and especially Pepper, to worry about him when there is literally nothing anyone can do to save him. So of course he goes a bit crazy and throws that last birthday party, because why the fuck wouldn’t he? But you can see the pain in his eyes when he tries to hint to Pepper that something is indeed very wrong and he wants to spent some quality time with her (before he‘s gone) on that plane and she doesn’t get it and thinks he’s just being his old douchy self (because how should she know what’s really going on).
And the list goes on endlessly. We’ve discussed him flying into space with that nuke in Avengers a million times already, which is him making the ultimate sacrifice to save others, and he doesn’t hesitate a moment. Hell, I bet Steve already realised how fucking wrong his accusation about Tony “not being the guy to lay down on the wire” were once Tony went to start that engine on the heli carrier again by putting himself in massive danger. Time and time again we see him standing up for what he believes is the right thing to do to save as many people as he possibly can, never once bashing as much as an eyelid if that means that he might die in the process. Tony getting into that “donut ship”, leaving Pepper and facing Thanos even though that has literally been his greatest fear for years is only the very last example of this behaviour that has been driving him ever since he was kidnapped in Iron Man 1. All those jokes in between etc. have only ever been a facade since then, and I just don’t get how people haven’t been able to understand that.

why isn’t anyone allowed to be wrong anymore? it’s okay to be wrong. no one should be terrified of every tiny little mistake they might make. being wrong, and realizing you were wrong, is how you learn and grow and change.

What’s hilarious about the “Tony is the True Villian [sic] of the MCU” hot takes is that none of these people crafting these “think-pieces” have actually thought about what they’re saying.
Have they well and truly considered how fucked everyone would be if Tony really wanted to go full big bad? If Tony embraced the god-given powers of his goatee and went supervillain?
If Tony Stark truly was a villain…
He wouldn’t have stopped producing weapons. In fact, he’d probably use the arc reactor technology to make even more powerful weapons of mass destruction. These weapons he could then use to line his pockets, becoming even more insanely wealthy – or…?
He could’ve enacted the Iron Legion protocol and successfully taken over the world because the other heroes wouldn’t have been around (or were too inexperienced/weak to fight someone as formidable as Iron Man at the time). Like, imagine if Tony had started work on his project to put Iron Man suits “around the world.” We saw just a glimpse of that in Age of Ultron. It was hella scary.
And if none of that happened? If Tony just up and decided to turn coat outta the blue? Then he could’ve killed all his “allies” (the Avengers) at any time he wanted, because he knows all their weaknesses, where they live, etc. He makes their tech. If he wanted, he could exploit it and end their lives. Clint’s arrows? Suddenly go boom in his quiver. Nat’s widow bites? Suddenly overcharge, electrocuting her to death. You get the picture.
Tony wouldn’t have bothered stopping the Mandarin. Wouldn’t have bothered saving the President of the United States.
Could’ve easily killed Cap and the others in Civil War if he’d really wanted them “out of the way” to further his own agenda.
Hell, he’d probably do such an efficient job cleaning house, Thanos might even be impressed. Adopting him as a “Child of Thanos.” Do you think evil Tony would care about half the population of Earth getting wiped? No. Not if he was guaranteed safe.
My point? Supervillain Tony would have wiped. the. floor. Tony has the mental acumen, financial capital, and tech to cause massive damage. Even take over the damn world.
It’s lucky for Earth that Tony has such a strong moral compass and decided to be a hero. Because if Tony were a villain? Earth would be beyond screwed.
