a/n: inspired by DEMIAN’s cover of the song “time is running out” feel free to listen while you read. please watch the performance as well, i highly recommend its so amazing!

second a/n: pls bare with me this was super rushed and all written today as its all the time I had to write, ik its probably boring but I hope at least someone enjoys it. also based off my current hyper fixation with the scream movies

11:46 pm, October 30th.

“hello?” she answered, wondering why someone was calling her landline, especially this late at night.

“wanna play a game?” the voice on the other end of the line asked.

“who is this?” she asked. “well who am I speaking to?” they asked back.

“i’m y/n, now who is this?” she asked before going to hang up. “hang up and i’ll end you just like your father.” the voice on the phone threatened.

she dropped the phone, grabbing a knife from the kitchen counter. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you” the voice said condescendingly.

“what do you want?” she said, tears brimming in her eyes. “i want you to suffer the way i did” they said, voice dripping with malice.

“i dont understand!” she yelled. “who are you?!” she asked. “the question isn’t WHO am i, the question is WHERE am i” they said as she held the knife tightly, making sure all the doors were locked.

“too late, y/n. should have thought about my brother before you put him in jail” they said angrily. “w-what?” she paused, remembering her fathers murder, and the man she put behind bars for it.

“y-you’re him..his younger brother” she said slowly. “thats right! you put my brother in jail y/n, and now you’re going to feel what i felt when i lost my brother. but i’ll give you a choice” he said.

“w-what choice?” she said, the knife shaking in her hold. “you..or your brother.” he said carelessly as a light came on outside the patio door, revealing her brother tied up to a chair.

she covered her mouth, sobbing “please dont hurt him!” she screamed. “make the choice, y/n. you or him?” he said angrily. “if you dont choose i’ll choose for you!” he yelled.

“please i’ll do anything just dont hurt him!” she sobbed. “no choice means i choose” he said, coming out from behind the bush, standing behind her brother.

“no please!!” she screamed, banging on the door, unlocking it and running outside, another cloaked figure grabbing her, holding her back and covering her mouth as she dropped the phone.

she then realized there were two people behind this. “please dont hurt him” she said, her sobs muffled by the hand over her mouth. suddenly the first figure behind her brother slowly walked in front of the chair.

“no!!” she screamed but it was once again muffled as she watched the first figure repeatedly stab her brother, once done he turned around facing her, taking off his mask to reveal none other than han jisung, her fathers killer.

she sobbed as the hand removed itself from her mouth, she slowly turned around to see the figure behind her unmask himself. han felix, jisung’s younger brother. she screamed as jisung stabbed her from behind, she ran to her brother but it was too late.

the ghostface duo ran as the sound of sirens started getting closer, leaving her there bleeding out next to her brother. no one knows where the boys went or where they are now, not even y/n herself. she just hopes they never come back.

warnings/synopsis: lots of mentions of paranoia, minho’s narcissistic, mentions of demons/demonic summonings/demonology, open ending (part two anyone?)

a/n: inspired by hannah’s new song(GO STREAM RN) so feel free to play it while you read

paranoia. something you’ve dealt with your whole life, you started having dreams at a young age, but you wouldn’t consider them nightmares. always about a dark figure watching over you, you were paranoid about everything. but the figure fed the paranoia in a good way, you didn’t know how to explain it. it made you feel crazy in the best way possible. the dreams never stopped, even now that you’re 19. the figure always stayed within your mind, you would have never expected to see it outside of your dreams but here you are. you woke up to see the figure standing in the corner of your room, at first thinking it was a dream you sat up, rubbing your eyes only to realize you were wide awake. you stared at the figure, almost admiring it. “the dreams..” you whispered as the figure slowly walked over. “minho.” he said coldly. you were taken aback, this was the figure from your dreams but he was completely different. still feeding your paranoia in the best way possible, but his aura seemed cold and narcissistic, you couldn’t understand why. suddenly the figure disappeared into a puff of black smoke, you stood there in shock, you couldn’t understand anything about the encounter. you decided to dig into the history of shadow spirits and demons, and to your surprise, you found his kind. shadow demons, some of the most powerful demons of the shadow realm. but why would he just be watching over you like this? you wondered to yourself as you continued researching, not finding much until you found someone’s experience with one pretty similar to yours. shadow demons come to feed humans paranoia, thats all they do, they rarely speak to you, they don’t care about you, only themselves, they have extreme narcissistic tendencies and only come to feed off the worlds paranoia. shadow demons are drawn to humans who struggle with paranoia regularly. “like me..” you whisper to yourself while reading, suddenly he appears behind you. “having fun reading about my kind i see” he says smugly. you nearly jump from his sudden appearance, you take a deep breath and ask him “so you’re just here to feed off my paranoia to become even more narcissistic?” he laughs coldly. “yep. but you have to summon me. which is the confusing part, because you never summoned me. the only other way is..” he stops himself. “is what?..” you ask hesitantly. “if a human has too much paranoia within themselves it automatically summons a shadow demon and when the demon feeds the paranoia it helps keep the human’s paranoia at bay. it sounds crazy i know, but when shadow demons do it its basically reversed, they take your paranoia and give you less amounts of it by becoming your paranoia themselves” he explains, he was starting to feel more like the demon from your dreams, and for that you were grateful.
