Themed : The Collective Invention When I was little, I joined my father at the factories of one of his inventions. He spoke proudly of the robot he had created. “In order to create newness, one must own the reversal of ideas.” When I was little, the book of René Magritte’s works my mother owned - The subdued yet photorealistic works that existed within an odd world - The unique words which brought union to these strange pieces - I was awestruck by the poetry that described their worlds. These memories are the origins of my own creations. To doubt the norms and shine light on that which was previously hidden. To release, from the confines of what is expected. To look upon material and process with intrigue In order to revisit from multiple perspectives. In order to break through the confines of fashion, And create new fabrics and honed designs, For the whole of the world. Leopard pattern and denim, wool and herring bone all fuse together as one. Fur grows out of wool tweed and cotton. A souvenir jacket into a tailored jacket, and a T-shirt into a riders jacket all as one transformation. Witnessing two fabrics, two pieces of fashion fuse together May seem like a transformation or perhaps an echoing of one another. Here exists a tremendous affinity. This visual paradox which may indeed find foots in dépaysement, Will unbound us from the chains that bind our imaginations. They are sure to also speak to us - That thread, fabric, folding, manufacturing, dyeing, and embroidery - Though all of these exists in the now - Many have forlorn the possibilities within.

Sebastian Kline's "grow apart" can be regarded as a piece that delves into profound inquiries about individual existence and the flow of time within the realm of music. The inclusion of Henry Thorowgood as a guest musician translates philosophical themes of encountering, intertwining, and eventually parting ways with others in the musical vibrations. The moments where the piano and cello intertwine symbolize the fragmentation and reunion of existence, reflecting the inevitable transformation of our relationships over time.
As the notes progress, we are confronted with the philosophical question of how individuals grow, evolve, and ultimately drift apart in the flow of time. "grow apart" extends beyond the confines of music, expanding philosophical exploration and delivering a masterpiece that brings deep contemplation and sensitivity to the audience. It goes beyond mere musical production, encapsulating an artistic and refined expression that delves into fundamental philosophical inquiries about individual and communal existence.

The 6th EP under the solo alias "iiP" of the renowned musician and sound designer Setsuya KUROTAKI.
This EP theme is not about creating a structure of opposition with the concept of "there are many people who don't even understand such things." Instead, it focuses on objectively examining oneself for not realizing the underlying premise that there are numerous individuals who lack comprehension even of such basic matters, emphasizing the importance of self-processing.

iiP is a solo project by musician, sound designer and multi-artist Setsuya Kurotaki.
His latest single is a work inspired by artist Ichi Tashiro's solo exhibition, "Serendipity".
A number of sounds were collected in Ichi’s studio. It is a collage of sounds from his creative roots in Hong Kong, Paris, and New York.
The cover artwork is based on a new work that will be exhibited at Gallery COMMON. It is a work born from the serendipitous encounter between an artist and a musician.
[iiP / Setsuya KUROTAKI] Setsuya's sphere of activity is broad and varied - music direction for domestic and international fashion shows, sound branding for commercial facilities, sound design for websites, as well as composing for film and various sound installations. So far his work has taken him to all the key locations around the world - Paris, London, New York, Milano as well as Taiwan, Shanghai, Hong Kong and of course his hometown Tokyo. Setsuya often features as a performing musician in studio recording and live stage situations and tours nationwide as a DJ / Music Selector. 2020 KUKAN DESIGN AWARD GOLD PRIZE www.setsuyakurotaki.com [ARTWORK] Ichi Tashiro (b. 1984, Ehime, Japan) is a self-taught collage artist. Tashiro previously lived in New York and Hong Kong before returning to Tokyo where he is currently based. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions across New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Belgium, Denmark, Singapore, and Tokyo, as well as art fairs such as Art Basel Hong Kong, ASIA Now Paris, Art Taipei, and Art Stage Singapore. [Gallery COMMON] Founded in 2010 by creative agency en one tokyo, inc. and currently under the direction of co-founder Satoru Arai, Gallery COMMON emerged from the street culture of Harajuku as an intimate space for both Japanese and international artists and trendsetters to interact with the local scene. Sensing the importance of establishing a physical art-centered space in the neighborhood, en one tokyo opened Gallery COMMON, one of the first galleries in central Harajuku, with the aim of fostering this energy. Approaching art from the unique and non-traditional background of creative agency, the gallery aims to bridge the paradoxical yet symbiotic gap between fashion and art, street and commercial, subculture and mainstream. Since then, the gallery has expanded its vision to work with both renowned and upcoming contemporary artists across diverse countries and disciplines while participating in art fairs and collaborative projects throughout Japan and overseas. www.gallerycommon.com 【Gallery COMMON】 2010年にen one tokyo, inc. www.gallerycommon.com

"Sebastian Kline's latest piece, 'Dweller,' stands as a bespoke composition crafted for the FUMIE = TANAKA 2024 Spring/Summer Collection, showcasing a distinct musicality that unveils a profound artistic expression. This composition intricately weaves unique melodies, creating an occasional vanishing sonic landscape, resonating intimately with people's lives.
The overlapping melodies symbolize the intersecting elements and moments within life, each individually beautiful yet generating exquisite distinctions simultaneously. The temporary brilliance of their connection gradually fades away, leaving an impactful impression.
In 'Dweller,' Sebastian Kline weaves an abstract yet emotionally rich narrative through music. His work transcends mere musicality, serving as an integral part of art that is poised to deeply move the audience.
This composition not only enhances the artistic sophistication of the FUMIE = TANAKA collection but also introduces a new dimension where fashion and music converge, offering a refined interplay of artistic elements."
