Ok so I think I’ve officially figured it out when it comes to Christian’s and their looks. They NEED to look a little deranged to work they need that scruffy ‘I’ve spent three days locked in my room writing this’ crazy eyes. Messy hair, a bit of scruff.

John and Derek have the perfect just enough unhinged look. They’re nice enough at the start but then you watch them unravel, their eyeliner gets messy, they stop combing their hair

Aaron … looks perfect the entire time and cries maybe sometimes

Casey- we haven’t seen his performance yet but he’s suffering from major model syndrome in the promo photos he looks too nice

*This has nothing to do with skill level or preformance I’m talking purely costume and costume progression! They wear almost the same costume/formula some nail it , some don’t. Also all of these men are attractive, that’s not what I’m getting at

that ability that some broadway actors have to really act the songs they’re singing without caring about sounding perfect while doing so (like jeremy jordan or antonio cipriano) are one of the main reasons I love musicals so so much like they really make you feel something

Serge and his scars,,, I just,,,

His relationship with Kimiko began with him showing her his scars - by making himself immediately vulnerable and trusting her and showing her his pain and saying 'we are the same.'

And now he was being put on display in front of her, his scars being shown in a way that's supposed to cause pain/humiliation. Their stories are being told as consequences of his actions - not because of what he's endured but because of what he's done and who he is.

Also fun fact for people who don't have prime/don't look at the trivia thing - with the scar on the back of his head - which I've always wondered about lol - Nina he started a bar fight like it was for no good reason but he actually was protecting a girl who was getting hurt/sexually assaulted. There's always more to it ya know

(2nd also - i find it really interesting how Nina is constantly bringing up the BDSM shit and trying to take that and say he enjoys pain and suffering in all areas of his life and he doesn't care what atrocities he commits as long as someone is telling him what to do and who to be. When obviously that isn't the case. I don't have anything really to say about that but it's interesting.)

with new pictures of Hayden Christensen floating around I keep seeing people saying 'imagine if Anakin didn't turn bad, the biggest problem for Luke and Leia would be that their dad is a dilf and all their friends swoon over him when he comes to pick them up from school'

and yes of course that's valid because Anakin would absolutely be casually leaning against his modified speeder with sunglasses on dressed in black like a model but please imagine the twins getting horrified by their friends drooling over him and going "dad you're not allowed to show your face at school now, mom will come pick us up" but HAVE YOU SEEN RECENT PICTURES OF NATALIE PORTMAN?

the twins have zero ideas how hot their parents are, they're just their lame parents, they don't realise that their mom has the face of Natalie Portman and the second their friends see her they're like "your father is a dilf and your mother is a former queen and the nicest AND hottest milf in the galaxy?? you guys are so lucky"

Okay, I ADORE Derek Christian. Perhaps even more than I do Aaron’s, which is quite wild to say and potentially a hot take but here we are.

I had the privilege of being able to see Aaron a few months ago in the show, and man do I love him too! I mean he is THE Christian, he built this role. There is no denying his portrayal is iconic and amazing, but something about the youth Derek brings to the role just got me hooked instantly. He’s cheerful, full of energy and running off the adrenaline of being in this fantastical world of people like him. He just feels happy to be alive—and meeting Satine only furthers that intense sense of feeling like he’s got somewhere to belong, with someone who he loves. And it truly seems like this is his first romance! We see him slowly break out of his shell and grow into this family. While Aaron still has that wonder to him, at first it seems like he’s more basking in it than jumping into it (if that makes ANY sense whatsoever). He’s more mature, laid back and quiet. He seems like a deep thinker. As well as that, it comes off like he knows about this whole romance thing—he’s a little more smooth, I guess. He feels more calculated in his words. Both interpretations have their fair share of dorky moments for sure though. I think at its core, Aaron’s Christian appears to be driven by a deep passion for Satine, while Derek’s is driven by sheer adoration for Satine. Derek’s Christian just radiates pure young hopeless romantic vibes and I love it. His line delivery is so good, plus it’s so interesting to hear a bit of a deeper-toned Christian!

But of course, that’s all just an opinion, and neither way of playing the role is wrong!
