My apologies for disappearing… that’s what happens when you get an urgent message to up and fly out and begin some filming shots because apparently my film schedule for the movie I’m going to be in is going to interfere in my schedule with the show. It’s strange being a wanted man in this career, but it feels good. How are all of you?
Tumblr media
Oh, wow. How did all of that go? It’s good to hear that you’re doing well in your career, though. I’m alright, though. It’s the summer and it’s busy with all of these movies coming out.

Well, you could do snorkeling. You just kinda float and breath through the tube.
Tumblr media
Wait, are you suggesting I put a small tube in my mouth and go wade around in a pool of sea water? That sounds even worse! Maybe I’ll just go sit in my bath tub with my suit shorts on and splash around like a complete moron. At least then I won’t drown!

It’s okay. I haven’t showed much of my animation. This is the longest one I’ve done so far.
Tumblr media
It’s really good, though, Fraye. You have a real talent for it. Do you have any of the storyboards that you used in order to have a layout as to how it was going to go?

Wow. Mister Fancy… that’s what I’ll call you from now on. I ain’t ever been outta’ the country. Never even been on a plane. I know what video games are, I just ain’t understand anything else you said… Hm… So, they’re not pornographic. Ohh. I see. Sorry ‘bout that, darlin’… I misunderstood.
Tumblr media
You never did tell me your name?
My name is Seth. I’m sorry for not telling you that before. But I envy that you have never been on a plane. They’re frightening and I’d much rather stay on the ground. It’s okay, though. I’m glad we got that cleared up so there’s no more confusion. The other things are just mostly games.

SLC Punk - 08/27/2015
Critique #408: God Damn Trendy-Ass Poser
This was one of the first insights I got to American life back when I was a teenager myself. My friends snuck in this movie into his home while we were all sharing a six pack of Koff that his brought bought him. It was the worst tasting beer to me when I got older, but then, I felt as if I were some sort of bad ass. This movie helped emphasize that chaos of breaking the rules that I usually followed. It introduced a world of rebellion that I had never witnessed. I watched this movie more than I could’ve ever thought possible. The bonus to it: there were comics that I got imported into Finland that this movie was based off of.
The movie is about two punks in Salt Lake City, Utah; the mecca of the Mormon religion. Stevo, played by Matthew Lillard, is the main character and narrates most of the movie to you. He goes through his life as a punk in 1985, telling you about all of the different countercultures that were all connected through a system. As an Anarchist, he believed there shouldn’t be any order; only chaos. The fault with him, though, was that he was still young and wanting to bring down the system. He learned this lesson as he went through all of the people he knew. Sandy, Sean, John the Mod, Eddie, Mike, Trish, Mark, and his best friend, Bob; affectionately known as Heroin Bob, were all described and he couldn’t help but be exciting about the audience meeting them all and explaining how he knew each one of them.
Spoiler Alert! Bob dies in the end and this is where Stevo finally cracks through his rebellious life and finds out where he really belongs. He realizes that Bob was the one who got him into punk, threw him into this mass of rebellion and anarchy. He fought the concept of giving in, of joining the world as a middle-class citizen, but he didn’t realize that growing up meant that he would give up those values down the line. It was hard for him in the end, but he truly found himself when he went to Harvard Law and became an amazing lawyer. He even said that his dad, a lawyer as well, knew all along that he would be taking that road one day. Just like Stevo says at the very end of the film, “Fuck you if you’re already thinking it. I guess when it was all said and done, I was nothing more than a god damn trendy-ass poser.”
RATING: 4.7/5 Movie Reels - After reading the comic books, I did realize they left out a couple of plot points but it was still a great film. It’s just sad that it seems as though they won’t be making SLC Punk 2.

So where are you from?
Tumblr media
I… ain’t got no idea what those things are, sugar… but I can tell you that my favorite beer is Blue Moon. Graphic Novels? Is that like pornography? Bless your heart… I’ll pray for you…
Finland, actually. I lived in London for a bit, though. You don’t know what video games are? How is that even possible. I mean, it’s all over the TV, there’s even sports video games. And RPG is kind of like Fantasy Football, except that’s more mainstream than what I usually play. Graphic novels aren’t porn. They’re just thick comic books. I don’t think I need praying for when it’s nothing gross.

Ohhhh a critic…. Silly ol’ me.
Tumblr media
I’m a cheerleader. A San Diego Chargers Girl… What am I into? Beer, at the moment. On a daily basis, cookin’. gardenin’, shootin’, y’know. That kinda’ stuff. What about you, mister?
Yeah, it’s okay. When I was first learning English, I used to get cricket and critic confused. The English language is very strange.
Tumblr media
A cheerleader, hm? Do you like sports at all, then? That sounds like a stupid question, but eh. Haha! I like beer, too! What’s your favorite kind? You like to cook, though? That’s fun. I don’t think I’ve ever shot off a gun, though. I’m really into comic books, graphic novels, movies, video games, table top gaming, RPGs, MMOs, so on and so forth.

Ohh, I was here for the same reason. Met a lots of awful nice friends.
Critic, actually, but yeah, I’m one of those. I’m a film critic, mostly. What do you do for a living?
Tumblr media
I met a few nice people, too. It’s a lot of fun here. So, what kind of stuff are you into?

One in the morning is always prime time to be up, especially when a review is due the next day and it took longer than expected to write and proof-read.
Tumblr media
No, I wasn’t here. I just joined a couple of weeks ago? I think? I can’t remember. Figured I’d try out this whole social networking internet craze and try to be hip to the jive and crap.

It was a good thing what he did. I do have some, but nothing posted. They are all at home on my hard-drive. But we did just finish one project that I am going to post soon. I like a little of everything, but I am more inclined to the new animation, but I’m not a big fan of 3D. I didn’t win the show, actually I as voted off this week. It makes me sad, but I’ll be okay. You’ll have to inviste me for movie nights.
Tumblr media
I’d love to see your work sometime. With a review by me, you’ll definitely get noticed by studios. Trust me. But yeah, I’ve seen some of my connections work on films on their laptops while we have coffee and it’s pretty intense. I couldn’t imagine doing that for a living without tearing out every hair from my head. I know a lot of studios use Photoshop and Maya even for 2D. Perfect example of that is South Park. They went from legitimate construction paper to Maya. I was impressed with how they got it to actually mimic their style so perfectly. I’m sorry you didn’t win but, hey, at least you got that chance, you know? I bet you were great. I’ll definitely invite you over, just bring a pizza or a drink or something to help contribute to the marathon.

Did you see the new Jurassic movie? There was so much hype about it. I didn’t get a chance to see but I heard it was enjoyable. Ha! I definitely didn’t see that either. Hey, you do what you have to, no judgement here….alright, a little bit of judgement that you sat through it but still, a jobs a job. What’s one book you’d love to see on the silver screen?
Tumblr media
Jurassic World? Fuck yeah, I saw it. It was seriously amazing, much better than Lost World, that’s for sure. I think I saw it about four times in theaters. Fuck, it was so bad. Imagine two people who absolutely despise being in the same room as one another, forced to act out light kinky stuff, and then make it into a movie. That’s pretty much what it was. That and the books were fucking horrible. I felt so bad for the director, you know? Getting stuck with that shit and them trying to make it a good film but the author of the book butting in every second and trying to force the worst scenes possible into the movie. Sorry, it was just so bad. But yeah, sorry about the tangent. A book that I want to see turned into a movie? Well, the book I recommended for your class. Then there’s The Prince Lestat by Anne Rice. Most of the Anne Rice books I want to see turned into films, especially the Sleeping Beauty series. Hm, that and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. That and his graphic novel series Sandman. Oh and Johnny The Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez. Those would be the greatest ones I could see becoming movies. Deadpool, though, would’ve been my top one if it wasn’t already being made into a movie.

That’s always good, though! It’s nice to be a bit of both. Healthy, but not overwhelmingly fixated on it. Best of both worlds!
Tumblr media
I can assure you that it’s a good life. I work out once a week just to keep healthy but I’m also terrible when it comes to any strenuous physical activity. I’d rather sit with a bucket of popcorn and a soda while watching an awesome movie than go to the gym everyday so I can do my best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression.

Is the gym still a reasonable place to try and meet guys when all else fails, or is that overwhelmingly 90′s?
Tumblr media
It could be a good place if you go. I’m more of the kind that’s a couch potato...but I work out enough to stay in shape.
