An all new two-door model based on the latest 1 Series, which also will replace the same - goes on sale from March 8th 2014 From launch, two petrol-engined versions will be available - the four-cylinder 220i and the six-cylinder M235i. A choice of four-cylinder diesel engines will be available: only the 220d will be on sale from launch, but the 218d and 225d will follow shortly after. A six-speed manual gearbox will be standard for all but the 225d - it gets the eight-speed auto that will be an option for all other models. It will be available in SE, Sport, Modern and M Sport trim, and a convertible version is expected to follow in summer. India bound ? Triumph's 2014 250 cc motorcycle to rollout from India's factory
The first major motorcycle to roll out from Triumph's factory in India is likely to be a sub-300 cc motorcycle aimed at both developing and emerging markets. Triumph does have plans of establishing a full-fledged production facility at Narsapura, off Bangalore. The first spyshots of the purported Triumph 250 cc sportsbike have surfaced on RideApart. The motorcycle in question, which deceptively looks like a Triumph Street Triple on first glance, is actually a single cylinder bike, said to be using a 250 cc engine.

Erik Buell Racing today unveiled their latest sportbike, the 2014 EBR 1190RX, at the American International Motorcycle Exposition in Orlando. The EBR, better known in India for its partnership with Hero MotoCorp. 1190 RX is driven by basic philosophies of high-performance – less weight and more power. Specifications: The EV-V2 1190cc V-Twin produces 185 horsepower at 10,600 rpm, and, more importantly, 102 ft. lbs. of torque at 8200 rpm. This torque is spread out on a long and linear curve, which allows the 2014 EBR 1190 RX to produce optimal power in every gear. Regardless of high horsepower, which will enter World Superbike in 2014, reports that the 1190 RS gets 52 mpg; with the 4.5-gallon tank, the new sportbike can get 234 miles per tank.

Hyundai Motors India has rolled out the 5 millionth car at its manufacturing unit in Irrungattukottai, near Chennai. The milestone car was a Grand i10. Hyundai started production in India in 1998. Hyundai has successfully completed 15 years in India, with an investment of $ 2.7 billion and production capacity of 6.8 lakh cars.

BMW to launch sub 500cc bikes in years to come
The German manufacturer which recently announced a partnership with TVS Motor Company will also be rolling out a 250cc motorcycle by 2016. These bikes will likely be built in India at TVS’ Chennai facility and will be marketed in developing countries. The sub-250cc motorcycles may also be an adventure bike or a naked one. As of now, the smallest motorcycle in BMW’s stables is the G650S, which again is an entry-level adventure bike.

Honda unveils CBR300R at the Chongqing Motorcycle Show, China.
The CBR3000R looks more stylish with its twin slat headlamps and a slimmer form factor. Apart from the stylistic changes, the CBR300R will output more power and torque than CBR250R Production is slated to begin later this year, at Honda's Thailand factory. The motorcycle is also likely to be showcased at EICMA 2013, in Milan.

The driver from Sahara Force India Academy created history becoming the first Asian driver to ever win the British KF3 Championship, who also had won the 2010 JK Tyre National Karting Championship in India, had a close battle with rival Daniel Ticktum in the final round of the championship at the rain-soaked Shenington track. Jehan came strong in the end, out ahead of his championship rival ensuring he won the 2013 British KF3 Championship. He thus joins joins some prestigious names on the winner’s list – Nigel Mansell and Jenson Button have both claimed this very title back in the day.

Narain and Karun set for Race of Champions 2013. Both made history last year when they became the first ever Indian duo to compete in the Race of Champions at the Rajamangala Stadium at Bangkok. Their performance last year has resulted in them being invited to the Race of Champions for a second time and the Indian pair will compete in the ROC 2013 in December this year. The Nations Cup is scheduled for the 14th of December, 2013, while the individual ROC races will be held on the 15th of December, 2013.
