I just had some kid try to tell me his mentor saw a real dragon and had video proof. So I asked him to send me the videos because he’s been trying to prove to me his mentor hasn’t been misleading him with a fuckton of misinformation. I HAVE NEVER PLAYED SKYRIM AND I KNEW RIGHT AWAY THEY WERE TAKEN FROM THE GAME. I can’t even anymore.

In general yes. The thing is I think right now there is a decline in commissions unless you draw smut on FA. I’ve watched artists go “Guys I’d really like to not draw as much smut” or “Guys I don’t draw smut at all” and their commissions have been going down. (I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s FA because I’ve heard of con-going furry artists not having that problem)

I did at one point see advertised on FA a website called Artconomy but I haven’t done anything past signing up for their newsletter because when I saw it it wasn’t fully up yet. It is now though. It’s supposed to be specifically for getting commissions rather than it being a gallery setting like dA or FA. And then from there I would just blast it all over social media like if it was an Etsy listing.

Aight, look. I have some questions about furaffinity. If someone can offer answers, it would be appreciated.

I’ve never used it, so I really don’t know much about it, but Tumblr making it so much harder to offer commissions means needing to look at alternatives to keep cash flowing, so

Obvs every community is gonna have people that want to pay less for more work, but is it true that as a whole furries and related generally pay well?

I honestly am not that great at drawing animals/ furries/etc. Are more like… monster /alien type things welcome there? How would I advertise that? How should pricing for that be different from regular stuff??

I’m just a little desperate for cash and really need suggestions. ;^;

The thing about that is because people don’t know the definition of it being stories of a culture or religion you end up with a lot of butthurt Christians when you take a mythology class who didn’t read the book and find out Christian myth is included in the class.

So I’m all for telling people and people needing to realize myth /= untruth

I think my fav thing about “Bill Nye saves the world” is during panels with experts he will stop them and make them explain concepts they bring up. Its a way to bring in the audience in and understand what the experts are talking about.

That’s great, sometimes experts forget that not every body knows certain space terms are, or psychological terms ect. I think that’s an amazing way to stay accessible to everyone that could be watching, and you can tell Bill is trying to make science accessible to as much people as he can. I appreciate that.

The accessibility is noticeable in the vaccination episode too.

Practice doesn't make perfect.

If you draw the same thing in the same way 1,000 times, chances are that all you’ll get is a hand cramp lol

You know what *actually* helps? Improved frame of reference. Practicing WITH NEW art refs. Practicing with new materials. Practicing using new skills you’ve seen on YouTube. Practicing what a teacher just showed you.

If you suck at drawing, say, hands, you’re likely not going to get better (or even more confident) just drawing them again and again. Look at tutorials, and practice /that./

Practice new ways of looking at and conceptualizing shapes and dimensions.

Don’t just do the same thing and expect a different result. Change something, and practice that.

My diverse webcomic Ringaround is officially open for public viewing! If you’re not familiar with me, I’m a disabled Tsalagi-Mexican Two-Spirit and activist. This is my first extensive webcomic.
