Serena rolls her eyes, a small blush forming across her cheeks. “You’re too sweet. But obviously blind, if you think it looks good on me.”

The blonde pouts, arms crossing at her chest. “You don’t look half bad, though. Maybe if you ventured outside of black and white and blue once and a while, you’d know these things!” 

She looks down at her outfit momentarily before pulling her hat off and smacking Himashi with it. 

“You perv! I’ll only switch with you if you turn around!”

"Serena! Lemme wear your hat and you can wear mine, uh-uh!" [himacchu]

“Eh? Why, Himashi? I look horrible in black. But, okay…” The honey-haired girl pulls her newly acquired crimson hat off her head and attempts to pat down any sort of havoc it may have caused. 

“Okay, give it here.”

Serena smiles whole-heartedly, and stares down Dawn for a moment before sort of lunging toward her and embracing her in a yearning hug. 

“I missed you. Like, a lot.”

She takes in the girl’s familiar battle-singed scent and smiles to herself whilst buried in her shoulder.

She held her tongue. Adventure wasn’t for everyone and she didn’t personally think battles were that rough, but, well, compromise was a part of life and Dawn trusted that Serena would do whatever was best for her pokemon.

But, seriousness aside, Dawn raised her spare hand. “It’s ‘cause I’m psychic,” she joked.

She can’t help but grin at the comforting words from her girlfriend. “You’re right. I would rather see Braixen wearing frills and bows than bruises and scrapes.” 

A pale hand reaches out to grab her companion’s, and cerulean eyes meet. 

“Hey, I like you too. Who would have known?”

“I think.” Her brows furrowed, a gentle smile. She look concerned, but hopeful. “Yeah. I know you worry about your pokemon, so this isn’t as stressful, huh?”

“I’ll try, then! I’ll see when I’m in Kalos and when things are schedule.” The fashionista winked. “Hey, don’t worry about whether I think it’s stupid or not. You like it, and I like you, so it’s impossible for me to think of it too poorly.“

Serena nods sharply, her entire body rigid. 

“It’s just like the performance stage of a contest, but it’s more...girly, you know? There’s really no battle involved, which honestly makes it right up my alley.” She clears her throat before offering Dawn a small smile. 

“Maybe you could come to the next one, if you’re in town!” She stammers, with a little too much enthusiasm. 

“W-well, if you want to, of course! No pressure at all. And, well, if you don’t think it’s, you know, stupid or anything...”

“We kind of keep up with what goes on in the fashion world,” Dawn jokingly explained. “We by no means have much influence in the Kalos fashion world as much as we do in the four more eastern regions, but, well, we’ve gotta stay aware.” Dawn allowed her girlfriend to be embarrassed. There was no need to press or prod Serena when she was having a moment.

Calmly assuring Serena, Dawn nodded. “Well, they’re not my cup of tea for what I would have done when I was younger, and  do love a good battle… but I kind of see them as a fashion show, and I can appreciate the planning that goes into that!” She paused.

“… there’s more to them than that, isn’t there, though?” She smiled weakly. “It’s fine. You told me now, didn’t you?”

Hello my beautiful friends! 

I graduated high school today!! I have all summer to play here (except when i’m working part time at American Eagle) so please, PLEASE, don’t hesitate to tag me in something/send me a meme or ask, even if we’ve never interacted before or even if we’re not mutuals! I’d love to write with some new people as well as create and continue threads with my old and long time friends :)

Serena turns a rather alarming shade of bright pink as Dawn mentions her performances. “W-what? Who told you about that?” The blonde clutches the side of her skirt with her hand, and shuffles her feet as she stares at the ground. 

She takes a deep breath before raising her head to meet those azure eyes. 

“I...yeah. I’ve started in Pokemon performances around here. I, um, didn’t want to tell you, since I thought....well, I thought you would think they’re dumb. They’re not as battle-focused as contests are, and, I...I just...I figured you’d think they didn’t require any, you know, skill or anything...”

 Serena trails off toward the end, her gaze drifting back to the ground as she projects her own insecurities on Dawn. 

“Sorry, I should have told you.”

Hugging her newly confident girlfriend back, Dawn let out a small happy laugh. “Of course. You know if I didn’t have business, I’d be happy to escort you around Kalos.” She paused. “Actually, speaking of which, I heard a weird rumor around the office last time I was there. Did someone feature in a little somethin’ somethin’?”
