Rembrandt is a painter that would mostly do self portraits which is something I like to do myself. So his work has always been influential to me and my own work. Rembrandts work was always controversial because of the way he would depict things in his paintings. I would go into more detail about it but researching it would be better because I may explain it wrong. An interesting fact about Rembrandt is he had roughly forty self portraits by him survive still to this day and are shown around the world and can be found online. Below is a few of his art works enjoy.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir was an impressionist and modern art painter that left history. He was mostly known for his impressionist paintings. Pierre was best known for his paintings of Parisian modernity and leisure in the last three decades of the 19th century. An interesting fact about Renoir is he had rheumatoid arthritis and suffered tremendously because of it but still even with Renoir having this he was made to be known as one of the most influential painters in art history. Below are two of my favorite works from him.

ARTEMISIA GENTILESCHI (1593–1653) and ÉLISABETH LOUISE VIGÉE LE BRUN (1755–1842) are two more artists I want to share about. I learned about Artemisia in my art history class and I learned about Elisabeth from my own research. I wanted to see if there were more female painters during the decades so throughout my research I found that there were and they were very good at their art. Each painter had a significant style that was very well brought out in each painting that they did. I love their work and I hope you love it as well. The first 2 are ARTEMISIA work and the other 3 are ÉLISABETH works. I hope your enjoy.

Gustave Courbet is another painter that I love hearing about. I especially love his work because of one specific piece he did. The expression of it, the light and dark in the painting is phenomenal and extravagant to look at. You can just see the raw emotion in the painting. The name of the painting is named the Desperate Man and it is a self portrait produced in 1843-1845. He was famous during the Romanticism and Academic Art periods. Below is the painting the desperate man.

Another painter I love learning about all the time is Leonardo da Vinci. His artwork is so beautiful and always noticed when anyone talks about art. My favorite pieces of him are the Mona Lisa, the last supper, and virgin of the rocks. He also used the chiaroscuro technique which is very noticeable in his work. I also learned more about him then I thought I ever could in my art history class so it was definitely enjoyable. I hope you guys do your research about this as well. Below are some paintings he has done and the third is a portrait of him. Enjoy!

A painter that I wanted to share with everyone is a man named Henry Fuseli. Henry was known for his paintings, and he was a painter in the time period of Romanticism. I learned about him when I did my own research about artists and see what I could find. Henry's artwork is very beautiful, and his art was very important because of his fascination with dream worlds, sexual symbolism, and the supernatural. I have noticed while I do research on artists specifically painters I usually go for the painters that use a technique called chiaroscuro technique which means light and dark. Hope you enjoy this painter and love his work as much as I do.

Posted is my Five painting series that I have done for my painting special projects/ Painting 3 class. To be honest I am not very fond of painting the way I was when I was younger, but it was nice having the chance to take the class and explore more into painting and learning about more artists. My five-part series was about my memories of me and my family. I hope you enjoy the paintings as much as I enjoyed painting all of them.

An artist that I would like to share with you all is an artist named Jean Honore Fragonard. His art work is usually most known by his loose brush strokes, lighting, and color palettes. His work is very inspiring to me because when I look at it it makes me feel amazed because of how beautiful his work is. It inspires me to try harder when I paint and to push my myself the best I can. Below are 2 of his works that are my favorites. The first one you can see at the Frick Collection.

Hi, long time no talk. So far I have almost all of my paintings complete, my third painting that I am showing is a picture that was taken of me and my brothers in Jamaica. I decided to add this photo because it was fun to look at when my mother first found it and showed it to me. It’s a memory that represents good times and growth of me and my brothers. I also decided not to add our faces in the pairing because it is blurry and not easy to draw, but I believe not adding the faces gives it more of a deeper meaning. Below is the picture of my finished painting and the picture of me and my siblings.

Hello! I started to work on the process of my five part series paintings. My series is about my memories of my life and the emotions it has evoked for me.This is all through pictures and videos that I have. For my first painting I decided to do a 20x30 painting of my sister and father during her father daughter dance at her wedding. The reason why I choose this is because it evokes a lot of brought up emotions for me. Such as from being sad, happy, and joyful all at the same time. My second painting is a picture of myself on a 20x30 canvas, the reason as to why I decided to do a picture of my self is because I am my own memory, as I am growing up and the emotions in the picture that I have chosen are as my mother puts it very overwhelming. Because she once saw me as a little kid and I am now an adult pursuing art. As I continue with the second painting I may change the idea of it but I am not sure. As of now I’m keeping the idea because I like it and hopefully you will all like it too. These are the processes for each paintings.

another one of my favorite artists of all time is Claude Monet. I actually discovered Claude Monet through a painting professor I had a few semesters ago. She told me that my painting style was very similar to Claude Monet’s work. After doing thorough research about Claude Monet and his paintings and painting style it inspired me. I love the soft layering and the pastel colors he uses in each of his work. He made each painting so unique and life like almost as if it has a mind of its own. To top it off his work is very breathtaking and eye opening. Below are three of my favorite pieces he has ever done.

Painting Prposal edited
The concept of my idea is to signify human emotions in a series of five paintings. I want my paintings to have movement and make you feel what the painting may be feeling, even though it may be a different emotion to anyone, the key is to make you feel an emotion through my artwork. The artists that influence me the most when doing art are Lenoid Afremov and Claude Monet. Claude Monet uses lots of pastel colors in his work that makes his work look very soft and alive while Lenoid Afremov is a painter that uses a lot of color in his work and you can feel the emotions through his paintings. When looking at Lenoids work I think to myself that is what I want to do, his work makes anyone feel what he has felt while doing it, as long as anyone who views it can feel an emotion he knows he did a good job. My work is about experimentation, I like exploring and playing with my paintings. I take a lot of time and patience trying to make my art the best it can be. Even though it takes time along with mistakes in the process, I enjoy doing it because it makes me happy and it makes me wanna keep doing what I love. I will be using acrylic paint and using different color palettes some will be colorful while others will be all grayscale. First I will make sketches to plan out my ideas then transfer it onto the canvases and work on it for as long as needed. To move further on each painting will be a scene from my memories that conveys more than one emotion.

This is a recent project I’ve done, I enjoyed the project because it made me feel very motivational. It took a while to get it done but I’m very proud of the look. The butterflies took a lot of time but it was definitely worth it. I decided to paint them this time and it made enjoy it more. I kind of now want to move further and make my own butterfly canvas and hang it up in my room as a decoration.

Today, I want to talk about an artists that inspires me. The artist name is Leonid Afremov, his work is exquisite and you can always feel emotion from his work. Leonid uses movement in his paintings, he does this by using a palate knife making sure to never blotch anything. The reason as to why I love his work is because before when I was new to art I never really knew what to do and it was hard for me to find inspiration. That was until I bumped into one of his pieces on Pinterest, when I first saw it the bright colors he had used made me feel energetic and happy and inspired me to do whatever makes me happy when I draw. He also uses oil paint, even though his paintings never look finished to some, it is actually finished he does his paintings in that way so there can be movement. Down below is 2 images of his art work. Hopefully you guys enjoy it as well.

This, this is something I am incredibly proud of. I decided to challenge myself a little more and make paper butterflies along with adding paper on the canvas making it like a a part of a book that may pop out to you. Such as the things written on the canvas can give someone butterflies. So I wanted to portray it and I think I did a pretty good job doing so.

In class we were still working on experimentation in painting and I finally decided to do something out of the ordinary and that is damaging something. Usually when I paint, draw, or do art in general I always make sure to be neat and if I mess up I get upset. I added two people in the middle of the canvas and decided to do weird colors but making it have a nice color scheme. I also ironically made this on Valentine’s Day which made it more fun. This time I didn’t let my neatness affect me, I decided to make what I did into what you would basically see in a book. Ripping up pieces of paper and gluing it onto the canvas making sure it’s messy. Then I grabbed my exacto knife and cut into the canvas along with the paper making it look like worn out paper and added charcoal all around the edges and the cuts to make it have a better worn out effect. So all together it would look like a piece of a book that was burnt showing the love that the two people have for the middle is burning passion. This was the result of what I had made and I’m very proud of it. Sadly I forgot to take pictures of the process because I was in the zone 😅.
