I’m very forgetful and I can be annoyed and overwhelmed easily, but it doesn’t take long until I’m back to my usual bubbly, giggly self. I’ll laugh at anything and everything! It’s my natural response to anything and it can get me into trouble at times. I don’t know how to handle certain types of situations, so my go-to response is laughing 😵‍💫. Summary: Merman!Prince Sunwoo is supposed to be in an arranged marriage, but manages to flee right before his wedding and make his way up to earth. (fem reader as requested)

Sunwoo had never been more furious at his parents in his life. How could they do this to him? He had always plotted to rule the kingdom alone, by himself. The last thing he needed was a wife.

Ever since day one, he had been forced to be nice to her at events, forced to hang out with her, forced to date her, and even forced to ask her to marry him. And of course, she was ecstatic and wanted nothing more than to marry him. However, this was more than likely due to his royal status as the one and only Prince of Atlantica.

It was the wedding day and he was not happy, he could feel his blood boiling so much his deep green tail was becoming hot. He paced back and forth in his room, just trying to collect himself. He didn’t want to do this, and he knew he’d be unhappy for the rest of his life,

Then he remembered something; Jacob. Prior to his wedding day, his friend Jacob had left to shore to be with a mortal. That’s when Sunwoo remembered— a sea witch could fix all his problems.

He had never left the castle so quickly, and he had never swam so quick to the dark and gloomy cave where her lair resided. He took a deep breath, making his way through the seaweed curtains.

The entire cave was lit up blue as the woman sat there brewing some sort of potion, pouring things into her cauldron. Sunwoo studied the room, noticing all of the vials and bottles that occupied the shelves. Things he’d never even heard of or seen before— like lice, which he presumed to be some sort of bug and crystals of almost every single color resided on the shelf.

Not to mention, the skeletons of other merfolk crowding the room. He looked around for a bit, before he was brought back to reality by a voice. “My my, hello your highness.”

Sunwoo gulped, running a hand through his hair. “Hello, Sunmi. I’ve come to ask you well…a favor. I was wondering if you could—“

Sunmi quickly cut Sunwoo off with a chuckle, raising her eyebrows. “Turn you human? Hm, you must be in love with Jacob or something… I always knew your friend group was a little too close.”

“No, it’s not that. I can assure you it’s not.” She spoke over him again, not even letting him start his next sentence. “Well then, what is it Your Majesty?”

“I want to escape my marriage.” Sunmi laughed, laughed so loud it echoed through the cave and shook the bottles and vials on the shelf. “Oh look how cute, he’s giving up his entire life just to avoid marrying her.” She seemed to be talking to the skeletons, who all began to silently laugh with her.

“Alright then, that can be arranged. But you, my lovely prince will have to pay a price.” Sunwoo began to panic. “I don’t have any money!”

Sunmi simply patted his shoulder, and then ruffled his hair. “Honey, did I say I wanted money?”

Y/N had a lovely life it seemed, when she wasn’t inside on her computer all day. Being an introvert you had never really connected to anyone besides your family. So being on your computer and finding yourself in a new YouTube rabbit hole every two hours was how you lived your life.

Except today. Tonight there was supposed to be a lovely meteor shower, so you planned to go watch at the beach. So, just to catch the sunset you made your way to the beach— but as soon as you got there you noticed something odd.

There was an eerie silence as the sunset melded into orange creamsicle and bubblegum, it was almost as if you felt something wrong in the pit of you stomach. You tried to ignore it, and made your way further onto the beach to collect pictures of the sunset.

Then you saw him— he was face down, completely naked, and seemed to be pretty bruised. You quickly flipped him over and shook him awake, only to see the boy cough up water.

“It worked! Ohmygod it worked! Yes yes yes!”

“Are you okay? What happened to you? Why are you naked?”

Sunwoo quirked up an eyebrow, before looking down and smiling shyly— a blush dusting his cheeks as he tried to cover himself up. Thankfully, you had brought a blanket.

It didn’t take much time at all for Sunwoo to explain who he was or why he washed up— and you listened very intently as you were amused by the whole tale.

“And now I’m here, and my new mission is to figure out how to behave like a human.”

“Well, I can help you with that. I’m Y/N by the way—“

“Y/N, what a lovely name for a woman as ethereal as you..” Sunwoo complimented, grabbing your hand and pressing a kiss to it.

“Thank you…now let’s get you up and take you back to my house. Maybe we can find you clothes.”

“What are those?”

“Oh Sunwoo, you have so much to learn.”

With that, you taught Sunwoo how to walk and was making sure he held onto you as he did. But truth be told, he wasn’t telling you the full truth.

He felt like he was going to die. His feet hurt worse than any other pain he had experienced, and as he walked each step it began to hurt more and more. A repeated stabbing sensation over and over and over. However, he didn’t want you to fret.

So now this is how he would spend his days for the rest of his life— miserable as he walked through life.
