it didn’t take a genius to know that natsu was… inexperienced… when it came to romance. he also, as frivolous as the fire mage could be, actually enjoyed having money—not to take into account that he actually hadn’t done taxes in… well, never. so having someone around to keep his bad money habits in check sounded like a perfect idea.

except, apparently, it was easier to just skip the romance part and head straight to marriage ( for the tax benefits, obviously ).

and while he was not romantically attracted to his now-wife, he was a man—a man with eyes—and any man could see that she was attractive. and they were already married! so why was the thought of kissing her so embarrassing? see: inexperienced.

after swallowing the lump in his throat several times, the pinkette finally decided the best course of action was to just… do it. with that in mind, he approached the smaller pink-haired girl and, without any tact or forewarning, leaned in to press his lips against hers, accidentally bumping noses along the way. the kiss itself was short, but it still left the dragonslayer an embarrassed mess.

        a thought was momentarily halted by the sound of a cheerful, high pitched voice. turning to face the spirited blue cat, she smiled. she gave a side head tilt, while shrugging her shoulders. ‘ heh–– you think so ? ’ 

       helping comrades was first nature to her, so she didn’t think she deserved special compliments for such actions. meredy was confident her friends of fairy tail would do that same for her if the shoe was on the other foot. ‘ thank you, happy ! but it’s a no big deal. i know these woods pretty well. ––and i know it’s really easy to get lost, but you guys should be able to find the next town if you keep heading that way. ’ she directed her finger down a gently sun lit path decorated by fallen leaves. it was definitely fortunate for them to have run into her out there. pulling out a small container of food from her sack, she held it out to the feline. 

              ‘ here! take these too. i’m sure you’re really hungry. and don’t worry–– we have plenty back at our hideout. ’

Meredy, what would you do if you heard Gray had died?

     her lips were parted, as she pondered the question. it was obvious that meredy had a slightly complicated relationship with gray fullbuster. once upon a time, she would have wanted to see that man dead. this goal was driven on the basis of a lie, an illusion she was made to believe. meredy felt regret for her attempts of murder, however she was thankful that he was a forgiving person. 

    eyes vibrated as her green orbs shifted to examine the ground, not looking at anything in particular. she gave a blank expression that turned to one of discomfort. vaguely, she recalled witnessing gray die. it was like a dream to her, but it felt real. she remembered her eyes being flooded with tears, choking to speak behind her sobbing. she remembered seeing him lying on the ground, cold and unmoving. there was a pit in her stomach as she attempted to think of a legitimate response. putting herself in that situation gave her feelings of dread and distress. so she quickly took her mind away from that scenario, or memory. ‘ i don’t know–– i don’t like to think about death. ’ the idea of death brought her back to dark places. bowing her head, she closed her eyes. her hands were flattened to her chest, as she felt her heart beat more hard than usual. 

               ‘ i know his death wouldn’t just affect me, but many people. i see him as a close friend, and he really changed my perspective on life when i was younger. he’s loved by many, and i honestly was wouldn’t know what i’d do. i don’t really want to think about anyone i care about dying  ––sorry, i understand i didn’t give you a straight answer. ’

Maguilty Love.

          love is the only emotion meredy cannot truly share with someone that she binds with through the sensory link. Her magic is unable to properly transfer the feelings of love that one might feel toward another. Although they will share in all physical sensations and other feelings such as: happiness, anger, & frustration–– meredy cannot comprehend the love shared between two individuals, by herself. this is because love is not just an feeling in a moment. it’s something that roots from someone’s personal perspective of another person. love is built, and love grows over time. such a feeling is shaped by personal experiences and feelings shared exclusively between the two who love each other. 

                        meredy cannot feel someone else’s love through a sensory link.
