Update two

So I spent the last... 3 days or so finishing through the planning process. I joined NaNoWriMo this year and already got the first 1.6k words down. Not a lot, but excellent progress! I feel really good about it, nervous but good. It feels almost daunting now, seeing my dream come out onto paper.

No notes to give on my changes today, next post will have it though.

Entry One

It is currently... 8:12AM as I begin this entry. I did just wake up about an hour ago, but I have been slacking recently on planning. Although this book is my baby, I absolutely can't focus enough to continue the planning stage. I'm hoping that writing some of my thoughts out now might clear up the jumble in my brain; I just have a lot to do and I'm struggling to organize it into smaller tasks, which makes me stressed.

I think what makes it all the more stressful is almost the entire outlining process is done in my head already, but I can't get the silly little words out on a page, at least not correctly. Though, I suppose I've always been better at creating an idea and the writing process of it all rather than planning out the whole arch. But this is no silly little story, this is my dream I'm following and I am determined for it to come out perfect, for everyone to love.

So it is currently 6:08pm now, I got a bit done in terms of character creation and world building. Not as far as I would have liked to, but some progress is better than none! Plus it's better not to go and burn myself out too quick.

I found out that ChatGPT or whatever it's called can be used to assist in writing, so I was able to use it to get my thoughts in order to properly write out. Feels weird using an AI but it seems to be the best working solution for my ADHD thus far.

I'm super excited to see all of the characters begin coming to life. I specifically spent time working on the MMC, along with some dynamics between him and FMC. It feels euphoric to see this beginning to become a reality, despite me only being in the beginning stages. I wonder if anyone else feels this while writing their first book. This world I'm putting into words on a page, it's been important to me since long before deciding to take it to the next level and I can't wait to show everyone.

Established a name for prior dubbed "The Council"

Established names for the two island continents within the universe

Downloaded the Story Plotter program on my phone to test out for when I don't have access to my pc

Tried ChatGPT for the first time, will continue to use it to process my thinking

Got a good portion of MMC creation done

Introduction

This is basically like an introduction post to explain the purpose of this blog, and to introduce myself/the idea of my story.

Hi! My name will be kept anonymous on here, but I will refer to myself as "T.V.S" or "Author." It has been my dream to write my first book since I was 7, taking to writing online on a regular basis to get my "creative juices" flowing, in a sense.

As of the summer of 2023 I have begun the planning process for my first ever book, which will be a mix of psychological horror, fantasy, romance, and adventure. It will hold a lot of elements detailing mental health struggles, but I'll get into that soon :)

This blog is like a "diary" in a sense, for me to catalog my writing journey, both the good and bad things, as well as to motivate me to keep going, no matter how overwhelming it gets.
