I think Alice "the most well-adjusted person on the OIAR team" Dyer has an old dog, like a labrador mix that used to be called Queen Elizabeth. It was supposed to be ironic, but people didn't get it, so she's just called Queenie these days. She used to task Sam with taking the dog on long walks (clean up your mental health, Sam), and when he went without Alice's supervision, he always ended up in a pet shop buying dog toys Queenie wiggled her tail about.

These aren't the main characters or final designs! I'm taking constructive criticism!

So I have this comic in mind, I think I'm going to call it New Age. It is inspired by the early space age optimism, the kind that almost bordered on spiritualism. These designs are a work-in-progress (especially Jude, he's supposed to have a knight-like exoskeleton suit, but he looks like astroboy. Will probably need to change his name too). They're basically a small space colony (7000 people after more than 300 years on the planet), established with the purpose of terraforming a distant planet. Long story short, they managed to lose all contact with Earth before even arriving (or did they? ask me to find out), and now the planet is ruled by the isolationist "captain" (that's Lucy). Less people hate her than you'd think, but those who do have very good reasons.

I promise I'll draw more concepts soon and it'll make more sense. In the meantime, does anybody want to hear about why the spaceship that brought everyone to the planet had an extensive library of gut microflora samples, or about the society that's 80% lab-grown, or human lifespans based on luck, or maybe political crises that involve the population of entire planet (it's 200 people)? Anyone? Does anyone hear me?

I think I figured how to make presets for different comic page layouts in Krita. But it involves an SVG symbol library, so the creation will be rather tedious (for me), and applying will still be a four-step process, not counting the resizing + optional adjustments. And also it will probably be incompatible with Krita's native comic panels, whenever they become a thing (they ARE on Krita's 2024 roadmap, so imagine if my presets become useless after like a single month).

Greg died. Three hours ago the vets were saying that he's getting better and now he's dead. He was just two and a half years old, I got him in April

Sorry for the vent, but

I was at the vet today, and in the middle of everything, for unrelated reasons, I started having some circulatory system spasms, and it was going on for more than an hour, and from an outside perspective it was bad enough apparently that people thought I was having a stroke, and tried to fucking slap me on the face without even asking. And as come back to myself, they announce that yeah, Greg is having kidney problems, and they're going to put him on intravenous fluids, and his chances to survive all this are way less than 50%. I know that isn't like the end of the world, but I just had a very shitty day, and the skin on my face is still numb, and I've been crying for half an hour. Please wish Greg luck, poor bun is so stressed right now, it's not good at all for rabbits
