Have you seen one of these dipshits? If you post regularly on ao3, chances are YES, but more likely you didn't notice nor suspect it was a bot. Sometimes they start off nice, or even praise you before getting nasty out of nowhere, like so:

I don't know where they come from, or what purpose this could possibly serve other than suicidebaiting random people in the internet, I guess; but apparently they've started parroting names from real users to send these comments and shifting their general length to go by undetected. Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.

Are you telling me (person who only watched the series) that the governor module is basically a fucking shock collar?

one bit of clarification I got from reading all systems red is how the governor module works: it doesn't force secunits to do things, it's not mind/body control, it just physically hurts them a lot if they ignore a command. which I think is worse than direct body control, actually. there's no sitting back and letting the marionette strings to their thing, you've gotta actively follow along, and the promise of punishment always looms if you don't comply the right way. oh no.

Phantom of the Opera is to the Universal Monsters what Batman is to all the DC Superheros?

Every other character in the Universal Monsters lineup has something supernatural going on, but the Phantom of the Opera is literally just a guy. I know he's only there because Universal happened to own the movie rights when they were putting together the world's first Big Stupid Cinematic Universe back in 1930-whatever, but it's like, as though being the Phantom of the Opera wasn't awkward enough.
