Curse looked down at her phone when she realized she had gotten a reply and openly snickered when she read the response. It hadn’t been a “Yes, where would you like to meet?” or a “Sure, did something happen?” it was; “I will see you both then.”

Hiroki made a happy chirp at the base of the tree they were positioned under. The spiderling had long since ruined his onesie gleefully after discovering raised tree-beds were super fun to dig and crawl around in.

“Hey, Hiiiiro~” she hummed at him, causing the infant to roll over and gurgle at her in delight. “Shinji’s going to see us tonight!~ Are you ready to say hi?”

Hiroki didn’t make a noise, his eyes merely darted around slightly as he observed everything around him.

“Are you ready for munchies and crunchies?” she asked-- now that got Hiroki excited. “Crunchies” had become the toddler’s favorite word. Primarily because it meant food.

Hiroki wiggled his legs and let out a pleased coo as he reached up- and Curse snagged a picture with her phone before immediately sending it to Shinji.

“Always happy for munchies and crunchies.”

.... Okay, real talk though. I really like making the “I am Hiro” comics. Comic-ettes? Mini-comics? Idk. I really love how much people (even self-proclaimed arachnophobes) love Hiroki’s design...

So I’m making this a series.

I have a general idea as to where the comic is going to go- but it will largely center from Hiroki’s point of view as he lives through his life. Some of it will be cute little ramblings, other points will carry a lot of weight for children who have to deal with similar issues. There aren’t very many child-centered stories anymore and I hope that I can change that.

Who knows? Maybe I’ll have a consistent style at some point.

Curse Reference Sheet

I figured it was about time I actually draw my OC like she’s actually my Main OC. I have references to the key things of her character/arsenal.

(From the top, going left-to-right.)

A visual reference of Curse’s face and eyes without hair getting in the way. She’s actually really hard to keep drawing consistently. So I had to break down her eye shape and size down next to it- and simplify her freckles so that she becomes a little more consistent in the face area, especially as she changes in outfit/hair rather frequently.

Next we have a not-entirely final design of her sniper-rifle, Broomstick. It’s supposed to be an anti-armored-vehicle rifle that’s been custom-made to shoot a wide array of bullets- but it looks a little plain rn. The point is-- it’s huge (and not drawn to scale, but whatever.

Next we have the other hard part about her design-- her hair in the two primary styles she wears it in; Beaten into submission and “crazy swamp lady”. Her hair is about 3 and a half feet in length and is very thick- but because it’s so curly it only comes down to about her shoulder-blades right above her mid-back.

Next we have nothing more than a figure sketch of her work uniform when she’s working as a body-guard. She’s over-all modestly dressed- but she enjoys wearing a pencil-skirt because she feels like she looks good in them.

Next are a various array of items one could associate with her. “Mementos”, I suppose. Her writing journal, a mostly drunk soda-bottle to keep her dopamine levels up, a copy of not-silent-hill 1, A polished gem-- it’s actually Sodalite, her favorite gemstone-- commonly known as poor man’s lapis lazuli. I could have totally looked up if sodalite could even have been given an emerald cut-- but I was lazy. She likes rocks... And pens. Sorta goes hand-in-hand with her journal.
