Creator Sign Ups, Province Reservation, and the OC8 Admins Blog

🤠 Hey everyone! Anya and Chris here, it’s been a spicy minute.

To do some initial groundwork and to help facilitate everyone’s questions about the upcoming OC, Chris and I will be having a Frequently Asked Questions Chat so everyone will have a medium of communications with us and to avoid any repeat questions.

WHAT: With this, we will be posting a creator sign up form this Monday (June 14, 2021). This form will ask you to sign up as a creator/participant for OC8 with your name and Google Chats email. This form will also facilitate province reservation ahead of time to make sure everyone can get the province they’re planning their OC’s backstory without any hitches. (or if two people do have the same province preference, they still have more than enough time to rewrite and work around their character).

WHERE: The form will be posted on https://oc8-admins.tumblr.com/. Stay tuned for the link to be shared there. In the words of a Youtuber, make sure to turn on those notifications for new posts from us.

WHEN: The form will be posted on exactly June 14, 2021, 6:00PM (UTC/GMT -4:00). For reference, here’s a link to an online world clock to New York: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/new-york.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that province Reservation will be at a first come, first serve basis at the submission of forms. We also have an FAQ prepared.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

🗺 What if I don’t have a province in mind, but still want to be part of the OC? Should you not have a province or an OC in mind yet, THAT IS COMPLETELY OKAY! 💕 However, we must already disclaim that the province your Selected is going to have is going to be dependent on the non-reserved provinces.

🤔 What if I’m not sure about joining SOC8? Should you still be undecided, don’t worry! If you decide to drop out prior to Selected Applications this July 19, that is totally alright with us! You can still feel free to sign up to join the FAQ Chat to get a feel of what’s to come with the OC and make your decision later.

👯‍♀️ What if two people reserve the same province? The province reservation will be at a first-come-first-serve basis of submission of this form. Google Forms has a date and time signature for every submission, and we will be respecting the first person who submits their form. The other person will have to kindly change their preferred province with respect to this rule.

Hosting Applications for SOC8

Hello!! Thank you to everyone who submitted responses to the poll to gauge an interest on hosting. Seeing as we received multiple submissions, we are opening up applications for the next potential prince/princess! If you would like to submit an application, you can find the requirements at the link below. Simply copy/paste into a new document, or make a copy of the doc!

After all applications are submitted, we will be holding a public vote to determine the winner! Only the basics on this application will be required, no names or face claims. Thank you!! Wanna be stressed hosting?? Keep reading then :)

The selection OC is back at it again—Edition 8. We’ll call it SOC8. For the sake of ensuring an easy transition for the hosts that follow (and with SOC7 ending in about 2.5 challenges) discussions of who will host next have begun. Last OC we only had two applications, which is usually as it goes. Since it’s unclear if this round we will get two (or more/less), we thought it would be best to post about the SOC8. It is in the talks by possible participants as a July event... but in the end it is entirely up to hosts. In order to give the hosts time to plan and for the current OC to wrap up, we’re trying to figure out when to start the applications for prince/princess—it could be very soon. To figure this out, we have made a poll (end of post).

This is mostly to figure out if there’s serious interest in hosting from more than one party. If not, the selection process will be very simple. This also allows the admin council to figure out certain periods/times for when to post host applications. If you’re planning to apply start thinking about that royal family!

Anyone interested in possibly hosting should fill this form out by Sunday, April 18 at midnight MST.

More information will follow once we get a good idea of who will be applying! Thank you for your participation!! :)

Elise (@readwritevibe) and Myriam (@maxericaruleillea​) are continuing the OC tradition and have created their own OC Prince (whose information will be announced on December 6th), and associated characters to be the royal family.

Now, you’ll all get to create your own characters and compete for the prince’s hand through challenges and role plays.

However, given the past Selections, if you would like to submit a second character, please feel free to and make sure to indicate on your second application that she is your second character. This is important for the hosts to know.

So most of you already know the drill, anyone and everyone who is interested in becoming the next Prince/Princess can most definitely apply via the application form attached in the link below.  The tentative due date is September 20th, 2020. Please submit your form by sharing the document to fourthselectionad@gmail.com After all applications have been submitted they will be posted and a vote will be held to determine the winner.

In a break from previous applications only the basics will be required. Everything can be brief and no names or faceclaims are required.

Host SOC7

As SOC6 winds down discussions of who will host next have begun. No applications were submitted for the previous OC since only one group wanted to host. In the interest of fairness we thought it would be best that we post about the SOC7, which is in the talks to start in November/December. In order to give the hosts time to plan and for the current OC to wrap up we’re starting the “applications” for prince/princess early.

This is mostly to see if there’s any interest in hosting from more than one party. If not the selection process will be like last time.
