This is my first summer I am unable to work at camp so for this #TBT I’m going back to when camp had a band. I’ll be back this summer for a campfire without a doubt. I love the memories, friendships and lessons camp gave me. Thanks to everyone who always made my summers amazing and memorable. And who knows now…maybe since I’m going back to school to teach I may never have to miss a summer ever again!! :) 💚🌻🌼⛺️

I am an ATC and asked myself this plenty. I personally think it comes down to the fact that when I have to describe what I do the words 'athletic' and 'training' are not my go tos. We do much more than train athletes in proper forms, diets, etc (which is along the lines of what a personal trainer does). As Athletic Trainers we truly are Jacks of all trades. We prevent, evaluate, treat all kinds of injuries. We also understand and can help with the psychological damage an injury can have on an athlete. We understand the urgency of emergency care and what steps need to be taken to ensure our patient is taken care of to the best of our abilities. We also don't just work with athletes. You can find us in the military, theaters, factories, hospitals, doctors offices and more. Unfortunately, I haven't come up with or heard anything better that would truly encompass all that we do. My advice is to perfect your elevator speech on what we do and you'll open people's minds to the wonderful world of Athletic Training.
OK guys….serious question for my senior project. Why do people not understand the difference between athletic training and personal training?

Today, I'm choosing to live regret free. I want to love, forgive and be happy. It is as simple and difficult as that.

As a girl whole grew up playing ball with a bunch of boys, this makes me so happy.

‘MythBusters’ puts the classic insult 'You throw like a girl!' to the test.
The hit show “MythBusters” wanted to see if there’s a distinct difference in the way a guy throws a ball versus the way a girl throws a ball.
They put eight people in four different age groups up against each other to analyze their throws. They had the subjects throw with their dominant arm first. Then they had them use their non-dominant arm because, without practice or training of any sort, it’s sort of like you’re throwing for the first time. This is when the real results showed.
When using their non-dominant arm with zero training, the guys were more accurate, but the girls threw faster.
