It had been a rough few days. Renji had sensed it. He had just returned from the human world, but he could tell that he had been away for far too long. Usually, he made sure that he was only gone for a week or so, but this time had been nearly a month.

It was weighing on you. Renji was your rock, the reason that you were able to get up every day and have a sense of security. When he was gone for a long time it made you feel like a part of you was missing. And that part of you always seemed like the best part of you.

When Renji walked through the front door after his latest training session with Byakuya he could already tell that you were having a rough one. His feet made their way for the bedroom quickly, a weird feeling in his gut telling him that it was where you would be. He was right, completely right.

You were curled up into the blankets, staring out the window as the sun began to set. It looked to him like you hadn’t really gotten out of bed since he had left the house that afternoon. He peeled his robes from his body and threw on a pair of sweatpants, climbing into bed beside you. His soft lips pressed to your temple as his strong arms wrapped around you. “Sweetheart…” Renji’s voice was soft and smooth, calming even as you listened intently. Just the sensation of him being there was already easing you. “Talk to me. Tell me what’s going on.”

You shook your head at him, trying to push it off. The last thing that you wanted to do was worry Renji. “It’s nothing, I’m fine. Please don’t worry. I just need some time to chill for a while.”

Renji’s body moved closer to yours, he knew you better than you knew yourself and he always wondered why you tried to hide anything from him. His crimson hair dangled into your face as he leaned over you. “You can’t lie to me. I’m not stupid. I know you better than you think that I do. You can’t hide this stuff. Though you do always put up such a good effort when you try it.”

You swallowed hard and turned onto your back, his arms still securely around you. “I just get scared when you’re gone for long periods of time. But it’s nothing to worry about. I’ll be okay. I just need to get used to it.” You reached up and cupped his face in your hands. “You’re one of the soul reapers appointed solely to the human world now, I should get used to you having to be gone more often.”

Renji pushed his lips out and captured yours with them, knowing that there was more to it than you were letting up but not wanting to push it any further. He knew when you were at your limit and respected your boundaries. Renji was just happy that you had opened up as much as you did for him.

Instead, he did his favorite thing and teased you. “Come on darling. I know what this is really about. You’re afraid that if I keep going to the human world to see Ichigo he might become my favorite person, right?” He chuckled and peppered your face in kisses. “I promise that the carrot top will never take your place. Not now, now ever. You’ll always be my favorite person.”

You nearly melted at his words, knowing that he had sensed the way you had needed that affirmation. You let out a small whimper as you wrapped your arms around him and pulled him toward you, leaning into his body as he settled in next to you. “Thank you, Renji. I- I didn’t realize just how much I really needed to hear that.”

His smile spread across his face, the sound that you made giving him a sense of comfort. It was the sound that you always gave him when you were feeling better, the one that he loved more than anything to hear. It was then that he knew that you would be okay, as long as he continued, and he had all night long to do so. If praise and affirmation were what you wanted, that’s exactly what Renji Abarai was going to give you.

Renji now looked just as you did, tears stained his cheeks, emotions now covering every inch of it compared to what it had just been. He had cared, he just hadn't wanted to show it before, didn't want to make you feel guilty about a decision you had made. He had thought that you had wanted him to leave.

Quick strides left him standing in front of you as he wasted no time in lifting you from the floor, keeping you on your feet as his hands cupped your cheeks. His lips captured yours before you knew what was happening, your tears seeming to fade at a moment's notice. He had chosen you, he would always choose you.

As your lips danced, his hands traveled to your hips you leaned into him. You couldn't be close enough to him, needed to be closer than you ever had been before. Renji's hands slid into the waistband of your shorts, pushing them down as he spoke softly against you. "Fuck, I need you. I love you. I love you so much."

That was it. That was all it took. Knowing that he still wanted to be with you, knowing that he still loved you. Renji Abarai's heart belonged to you and nobody else.

As his hands nearly reached you, you pulled away, the look on his face making you pout at him evilly. “What’s the matter Renj?”

His teeth ground together as he grasped tight, refusing to let go when you tugged. “Not so brave now that you’re caught, are you?” You locked eyes with him as his hand tilted your chin up to get a better look. “I think you’re about to learn why you shouldn’t tease me like that.”

His body turned, yours going with him as he pushed you down the hallway. Renji had a rasp to his voice that he only got when he was ready to snap, one that you had heard many times, one that made your loins ache and your heart race when you heard it.

Another milestone is upon us and for 8k we’re gonna change it up and do something that we’ve never done before. You guys are in charge of who these pieces will be involving, but I’ve already got an idea for what is going to be in each of them, it’ll just be molded to whomever is chosen for that day.

For anyone that isn’t already aware I’m a huge Machine Gun Kelly fan and what better way to bring him into my work than by using his latest album as a milestone event. Each of the songs off of his new album has found a way to inspire a piece for me. This is an entire event of song pieces.

You’ll find the tracklist underneath the cut and each piece will quite simply be named after the song. Some of these pieces will be NSFW and some of them will contain some content that not everyone will enjoy so if you’re familiar with the songs please make sure you choose wisely. As always my writing will be x fem!Reader because that’s what I’m most comfortable doing, but any of them that I am able to I will be trying my hardest to keep GN. And I’ll obviously be tagging everything accordingly, but just some disclaimers before they come out.

It’s first come first serve for who gets the pick for characters! Simply send me an ask with something as simple as “Ken Ryuguji with track 3” or “Eren Yeager and Drug Dealer” and if that track hasn’t been selected then that will be the character I choose! Character repeats are fine, but I encourage everyone to try to pick different characters, just to spice it up a little bit since I do tend to write for the same people over and over.

These pieces will start rolling out as soon as 8k hits and will continue to roll out every other day for the next three or so weeks after we hit the mark. 19 pieces in all! Some of them are already labeled NSFW because of the context of the songs, but others may change as I get them written.
