Caleb and MC's Relationship Dynamics

The LDR trope literally just amplifies his yearning, and I am eating it up real good. They have been together for most of their childhood and started to drift apart when they reached the adult years. It's these instances where they are trying to somehow reconnect and figure out their relationship beyond close friends really hits different.

Abyssal Chaos hinting Caleb's Lore

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I got this scene from one of the Dilemmas in Abyssal Chaos — Final Farewell.

I initially thought this isn't just a gimmick by the writers since the tarot cards have Caleb's face, so it must be important.

Please note that I haven't encountered the other versions (if they exist) from the other guys yet, I only have Caleb's for now.

I am still a beginner in tarot, so please share your inputs and don't hesitate to correct if I'm wrong in the interpretations of each cards.

We can take these choices as a tarot spread. (RW)

From what I can understand, it shows that Caleb surrendered himself into smth or gave up smth he had (his body for Prof. Lucius). All while he's not content about where he is rn (in the main story where he talked about why he wants to become a pilot), as if he wants to leave while also dwelling about his own desires with MC. He has been alone (after the explosion, he also said in the main story that doesn't want to be abandoned), seeking light in between the shadows of his own mind (in his myth, it was hinted that he's almost close to a machine because of the Toring chip inside him and his memories with MC are like being subconciously protected).

In the last chapter of his myth, it shows that Caleb would often have dreams about MC and their past together. Prof. Lucius has been trying to decode this kind of dreamscape/memories to fully make Caleb a literal war machine but failed.

I picked the Hanged Man, and this was his response.

If we take these cards in a spread, the Hermit is walking towards the Two of Wands who had their back faced to the Hermit while looking out the scenery. On the left will be the Hanged Man being tied down, and facing forward.

My own interpretation is that while Caleb dreams of something bigger/better for both him and MC, he couldn't escape from something that binds him, he is stuck in this situation and is awaiting his end.

Caleb took us to a rollercoaster ride with his Chapter.

I really had to sit and read everything to understand his character because I was not prepared for him to be having that character archetype.

I will do a breakdown of his lore and character soon. Probably after I'm calm abt this whole update lmao. ❤

CALEB'S FLOWER ARE PURPLE WREATHS

The Purple Wreath was emblematic of strength and endurance, traits attributed to its hardy nature and enduring blooms that often persist even in challenging conditions.

The description fits Caleb's character. We all know Infold often presents their symbolism through the flowers associated with each guy.

Caleb has definitely been through a lot of hardship during his time in military while also being away from MC. I think that MC's prolonged absence really did a number on him.

Also, the drawing underneath!

I would like to think that this is how Caleb views MC—as someone that he should protect at all costs. While petals fall, the boy in the doodle is holding an umbrella seemingly helping/guiding the girl to get underneath it. It's as if this umbrella will act like a shield from the cruelty (falling petals) around the two of them.

"I want to keep you in a world with just the two of us."

I don't think this dialogue aims to present Caleb's jealousy/possessiveness. Rather, it is a way to show his desperation to keep MC safe. Remember that in Chapter 4, they got into an argument before the explosion happened. Caleb was starting to fear the possibility that MC will stray further away from him now that she became a hunter, and he wouldn't be there to protect her. He might've thought that no one will be there for MC.

"If not me, who could you possibly turn to?"

This is one of the things that he said during their argument. I feel like Caleb knows something about what's really going on with EVER/Josephine.

CALEB & Chapter 4: Observations

Hear me out! I replayed a few chapters of the game and now I will try to explain what I have noticed so far.

MC's hometown address is 502 Sunset Street.

The first half of Chapter 4 happened during sunset which could also represent how this chapter marks as the transition to the main plot point of the game. Kinda like setting the mood for the upcoming darker themes after we've met the three initial love interests.

The mystery man MC saw during the stroll.

That man might be the cause of the explosions that was reported on the TV back at their house as the fluctuations seemed to be near him.

As for what was reported, it seems like Josephine and Caleb will be the first casualties of this explosion incidents. Coincidence? I think not! We know Josephine was also into some shady stuff before and it seems like they're being intentionally targeted this time. When MC and Caleb went out, Josephine was left alone in the house, giving enough time for the perpetrator to plant some sort of bomb at the door.

Caleb used his right hand to close the door.

Right after Caleb closed the door, the explosion happened (perpetrator probably used impact fuze bombs?). This might be the reason why he lost his right arm as it was the first thing that came into contact with the explosion.

The military got him that bionic arm that also uses protocore energy.

It seemed like he uses that protocore for doing maintenance on his arm. But in the other trailers, he still has his arm intact. The protocore might have some sort of effect that can create a protective shell over his bionic arm.

His back still have burn(?) marks from the explosion and it's clear that he's still under recovery. The military (or EVER) probably had him under a contract/agreement that he will work for them in exchange for his recovery or for that bionic arm.

The bionic arm CANNOT channel his evol.

He basically lost his tactile senses. He also said on the latest trailer that he cannot feel her anymore. Notice how he was using his left arm to ground MC on the chair with his evol.

WE MIGHT BE GETTING GOLD STELLARS FOR CALEB

Our guy finally got his own Medical Rescue! Anyway, look at the gold protocore on his desk.

EDIT 01-23: SORRY, I WAS WRONG. HE'S GOT THE RED STELLARS.

He could be using that gold protocore to heal/repair himself, especially with his robotic arm. We all know protocores are widely used for surgeries and life-extension research.

I also noticed a few more things and trying to stitch everything together so I'll be yapping here more frequently.
