Hi everyone! Hope you're doing good!
I'm looking for new queer fiction podcasts to obsess about! So far I've listened to:
The Adventure Zone (that was a while ago, and I'm still not caught up on Dust S2 or Steeplechase)
Welcome To Night Vale
The Penumbra Podcast (Only the Juno Steel arcs)
Wolf 359 (that was supposed to be my HAPPY COMFORT PODCAST jeez)
King Falls AM (Also was supposed to be my comfort podcast)
Kaleidotrope (This one's really a comfort podcast)
Dragon Shanty (Thanks for the rec!)
Dark Ages (Thanks for the recommendation on this one too!)
The Lavender Tavern
The Two Princes
Second Star To The Left
RADIO: Outcast
So if there are any suggestions, I'd love to have new stuff to check out! (Finished podcasts would be great but if it isn't that's fine) (Also maybe not TMA bc it looks SO GOOD but it seems like it's too violent/gory for my taste)
Edit: Wow! Thanks for all the recommendations! Now my to-watch list is much, much longer than it was before!

“See that tree, Boots? I love that tree.”
[Image description: digital drawing of Gwen Hartley and Boots from Second Star to the Left podcast. They are both facing away from the viewer, with Gwen kneeling on one knee while she points with her laser sword at a group of weird looking trees in front of them. Her space suit and leg prosthesis have small scratches and is slightly smudged with dirt. Boots - a spherical robot with wheels on each side and colored a pale yellow - also has some dirt and scratches, indicating that they been traveling for a while. They are surrounded by large blue green and yellow cabbage-like plants. The group of trees in front of them have very thick - almost egg-shaped - trunks topped with small clumps of purple-orange leaves. Their exposed roots raise them from the ground, almost as if they were walking. End description]

Bello Collective 100 Best Podcast Episodes of 2021
"Second Star to the Left, “The Scout” - Independent
If you enjoy nerding out about science while grappling with the complexities of human emotions and relationships, Second Star to the Left doles out both in perfect unison.
Gwen is a Scout-Explorer, sent on a five-year-long solitary mission to a habitable planet in order to prep and prepare it for settlement. Only, she’s not actually that lonely because she has Bell Summers in her ear for four hours every other day, a minder in another part of space entirely.
Second Star to the Left concentrates on the power of stories, the strength of our voices to build entire relationships, and what it means to be able to simply listen to someone when you think you’re helpless.
It all hinges on voice actors Ishani Kanetkar and Jorin Baas and their confusing, frustrating, explosive meeting in the very first episode. A plot mainly carried by two actors needs stellar voice work to buy into their relationship as a movable, mutable thing, and Kanetkar and Baas have not only embodied the twin feelings of whimsy and fear of taking on a new, uninhabited planet, but the very core of what it means to try to create your own Neverland.
Chosen by Elena Fernández Collins, Bello Collective staff writer and creator of Audio Dramatic"

😍😍😍
I started Second Star to the Left and it’s so good!!!! I’m on episode 2 and very worried about Priyanka (I have no idea how to spell her name yet). It’s fun sometimes hearing echoes of Arkady in you doing Gwen, but she’s fully Gwen to me
thank you!! i'm really glad you're enjoying it; the last couple of episodes might be the work i'm proudest of in my career to date.
and it's reassuring to hear that gwen still feels like her own person! (i fully admit that this happens to me, too - i had a moment listening to starfall the other day where i got distracted by a leona line that had a shade of arkady in it XD) but i've got some friends and family who can't listen to any of my shows because it's too weird for them to hear my voice, so knowing the characters i play feel distinct is always a relief!
