Full Hunter’s Moon
Tumblr media
This year’s October moon is known as the Full Hunter’s Moon. It reaches its peak on Sunday, October 13, at 5:08 pm EDT in Aries. Luckily, this full moon will remain in the sky for the entire night, but this means you won’t catch a glimpse of it during the daylight hours.
Like the Harvest Moon, the month of the Full Hunter’s Moon can change. The Full Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon (the full moon appearing closest to the autumn equinox). As such, the Full Hunter’s Moon may appear in either October or November. This moon earned its name from the late hunting season. With harvests complete, hunters could take the extra time to pursue game animals fattened in preparation for winter. Other names for October’s moon are Sanguine Moon, Blood Moon, Travel Moon, Moon of the Dead, Winterfelleth (Winter Coming), and Windermanoth (Vintage Moon). It heralds the coming of winter’s cold, the time when the veil between worlds begins to thin.
We come soon to Samhain, when the spirit world presses against our own and we can most feel the presence of the dead. Use this moon for spiritual and psychic growth, as well as communication with spirits and guides. Work on divination and dream magic, and be especially conscious of any messages you may receive. With the full moon in Aries, you may feel an uncertainty which drives you to make rash decisions. But do not rush. Instead, try to slow down. Take a moment to think and allow yourself to fall back into your own natural rhythm. Although the moon in Aries brings a lot of fiery energy, pause and work on your inner peace.
The correspondences for the Full Hunter’s Moon are:
Colors like dark blue, black, and purple
Amethyst, Apache’s Tear, Beryl, Carnelian, Hematite, Obsidian, Opal, Tourmaline, and Turquoise
Angelica, Burdock, Catnip, Ginger, Hops, Hyssop, Mint, Mugwort, Nutmeg, Patchouli, Star Anise, Sweet Annie, Thyme, and Wormwood
Acacia, Apple, Cypress, Elder, Pine, and Yew
Chrysanthemum, Calendula, Dahlia, Marigold, White Lily
Fire magics, protection, release, divination

If you’re a spoonie and a witch, reblog this! I have a chronic illness that causes me to be dizzy and fatigued often, as well as depression, which makes me very unmotivated. I’d really like to follow more witches I can relate to and maybe see some more low-spoon friendly witchcraft ideas?
Especially reblog if you’re a hellenic, crystal witch, chronically ill, do any potion-making, or have executive dysfunction!

Braid Spell for a Growing Relationship
In many magical traditions, braiding and weaving can come in handy as a spell work technique. As you twist and tangle strips of material or fibers together, visualize the intent of your spell – it can almost turn into a meditative exercise. One of the most practical uses of braiding magic is to strengthen a growing relationship.
Materials:
Three strands of red cord or yarn
Three strands of pink cord or yarn
Pair up the pieces of cord evenly so you have three pairs, each containing a red and pink strand.
Hold all six strands together and not them at one end. Begin braiding the pair’s slowly, crossing one set of red and pink over the next.
As you do, say:
Red for you and pink for me,
Love grows and grows and grows times three
Pink for me and red for you,
Love grows strong and fast and true
When you’ve reached the end of the cords, tie a second not so the braids won’t unravel. Hang the braid in your home or tuck it under your mattress.

repotting plants things:
don’t fill up the pot the whole way, leave about an inch of rim so you can actually water
but don’t plant way too deep either, this could lead to air flow issues which can lead to rot
don’t use really big pots for small plants. it makes it very hard to know when to water.
only go up an inch or so in diameter every time you repot. if you get a new plant and find it has almost no roots you can sometimes even go down a size. I’ve found many common houseplants like Philodendrons especially like this.
remove plants from plastic pots by gently squeezing, not always by pulling on the plant
remove plants from terracotta or ceramic/glazed pots by being gentleeee and maybe by running a knife or other utensil around the diameter of the pot if it’s really stuck and also by praying
loosen the roots by squeezing or gently untangling the root ball
it’s ok if you break some roots i promise
sometimes you’ll want to remove as much of the old soil as you can, other times just remove enough to leave some loose roots
throw small amount dirt in bottom of pot first, then place plant in. the base of the plant should ideally be level with where you want it when fully planted. if not, lift up and add more dirt and repeat
some plants you can plant deeper than they originally were, others you can’t
add dirt around the plant, packing gently. don’t pack it super duper tight but don’t just toss it in there loosely either
add one handful at a time. rotating the pot is easiest
rotate and gently pack, rotate and gently pack until dirt level is where you want it
water your plant in when finished. water deeply until the water runs out of the bottom. this is important to prevent air pockets (roots can’t grow in air). with succulents you may want to wait a few days to water in to prevent rot but most times they’ll be ok.
if you did have air pockets, your dirt might settle a bit. add some more and water again.
ta da, repotting

Do you know much of a god named Bragi? My family has been cleaning out the house of my grand-aunt how recently died of lung cancer and previously believed to be a very devoted Catholic. We found basically a shrine to a god named Bragi with poems and sheet music she appears to have written herself dedicated to him. We found the hidden shrine when we smelled something rotting--it turned out to be apples left on the shrine. Is he associated with apples? Family is a bit freaked, sorry to bother you.
Bragi? He’s a son of Odin, and the god of music and poetry.
And I’m laughing my absolute ass off that your aunt kept that a secret until she died, and feel like an ass for laughing. I’m sorry for your loss, but yeah, your grand-aunt was a heathen, and I may have to light a candle for her, because damn.

~a spell to heal a wilting plant~
Tumblr media
 ingredients
🌱full moon water (and a container for it)
🌱fresh soil
🌱ground eggshell powder
🌱dried leaves or roots you have collected from said plant
instructions:
1)re-pot and change your plants soil (you can look up how to do it if you dont know how)(also re-pot doesn’t mean you cant use the same pot)this is good to do for your plant every once in awhile even if you are not performing a spell
2) take some of the new soil from the pot and surround the container of moonwater so you have a ring of soil with the water in the center. sprinkle the eggshell over the ring. place the leaves/roots around the ring (or in between depending on how big you made your ring) you can also add any crystals or additional herbs you associate with healing to the ritual if you wish
3) hold your hands over the water and fill it with the energy of all the things you have surrounded it with. add your own personal intent and energy. this step might take a bit of concentration and prior knowledge in energy manipulation
4) once you feel the water is plenty charged, return the soil back to the plant’s pot and despose of the dried leaves.
5) use your newly charged water to water your plant (i recommend using a spray bottle but shwatevs) if you wish, hum or sing a song to your plant while you water it.
🌱 this was my first ever original spell aaaaaa so sorry if its a bit confusing  🌱
