with the exponential growth of muzzles into ever increasing sizes for “pant room” have to wonder

when is a muzzle too big?

because unless your dog’s mouth is broken it’s not opening that wide and it doesn’t need to be that big.

how is the excessive size of muzzles impacting the dogs. show us a video of your dog in its excessively large muzzle. Record the sniffing your dog does with and without. How fast does your dog move. Does your dog run and play on its overly large muzzle. Does your dog suddenly magically walk slower and loose lead walk better with a giant muzzle. Can your dog perform natural behaviours. What is the weight impact on your dog’s head.

The Latvian animated movie Flow (dir. Gints Zilbalodis) is going to be released internationally in several countries, including the US (December 6, limited release November 22), Sweden (November 15) and Germany (December 19). If you get a chance, I highly recommend seeing this movie. It is quite special.

good news - we’ve got two regular sized eyes this morning! the swelling has gone down completely :)

bad news - Kaija puked multiple times overnight, including once in by bed. this is a possible side-effect from the prednisone i guess. at any rate she seems to be feeling good now.

went to the e-vets anyway. they gave her a shot of anti-inflammatories, hopefully she’ll be back to normal soon.

her entire face is swollen. e-vets said to just monitor for now, which is awful because it means that i get to just sit here and stew in my anxiety.

maybe i spoke too soon?? she has some swelling on her muzzle and these weird bumps that almost look like bug bites. i don’t know how the fight could have caused that but it seems a bit crazy to assume it’s just a coincidence as well
