Alright everyone. What is your pets' life's mission? Robin's is to be inside the dishwasher and Sparrow's is to dig all the way through both the hardwood floors and my boots

i feel like i make this same post every week (or at least i think about making it every week),, but Kaija did so great at rally class today 🥺 she was so switched on and engaged
and while we were waiting between runs i also worked a little bit with her on zen bowl skills from Laura Waudby’s “Bye Bye Cookie” class - first time i’ve tried them away from home. Kaija definitely found the exercises much harder at a new (and much more difficult) environment, but she still seemed super into them! they’re such a mental puzzle for her and so fun!
#i also really enjoy the bye bye cookie exercises#i love watching the gears turning in her head#and so interesting how much harder the basic exercises were at class#vs. at home where we’re already comfortably working on more advanced bits#it was a really great class#we’ve had a nice streak of those recently :’))

a very polite animal very politely waits her turn at rally class.
#3 years#dogblr#australian shepherd#rally obedience#i asked our instructor if we could do some RO-1/2 (beginner level) courses today and it was lovely :)#the instructor even noted at the end that kaija seemed to be gaining confidence while working on these easier courses#(vs when we work on more difficult signs she can become stressed and deflated and eventually disengage)#and overall it was just pretty nice idk#i'm trying very very hard to get the joy back#this winter it will have been 3 years since we started training in rally#a lot of this journey has been very fun and enjoyable#and i feel pretty shitty sometimes for essentially giving up#but i still don't see a likely path for us to get back to the trial ring. so.#oof these tags got away from me#i have many emotions wrt rally right now in case you couldn't tell

Im curious about something so if you grew up with dogs please answer
I grew up with a black labrador/weimeraner mix and now labs are simply everything to me.
#we had pugs when i was a kid#i’m not huge on the brachy breeds now but i do still have a little sweet spot for pugs#they are definitely not my favourite breed though nor will i ever have another#aussies are my fave of course#and they were my favourite breed growing up as well#as far back as 8yo when i got my first dog breed book :)

The Latvian animated movie Flow (dir. Gints Zilbalodis) is going to be released internationally in several countries, including the US (December 6, limited release November 22), Sweden (November 15) and Germany (December 19). If you get a chance, I highly recommend seeing this movie. It is quite special.

kaija and i went to rally class yesterday after 2 months off, and she was so enthusiastic and trying so hard! i had really missed that bright engaged expression she gets when she is really in the game.
tiny good things thread, i'll start
k'seil was so excited when i woke up this morning that she gave herself hiccups
#and i’m happy with myself as well for recognising the effort she was putting in#in a way it’s easier now that i’ve let go of my competition dreams#we can work on all the nitty gritty pieces of course but at the end of the day they don’t really matter#only the joy of working together matters
