Cats, Dogs, and Agricultural Crises
17 June 2021
Heavy rain in parts of Southern Myanmar, namely Kayin, Rakhine, and Chin states, have been reported over the last few days. As the rains swelled into floods, farmers found themselves swamped, unable to harvest their crops and sell them to exporters and at local markets.
Angry farmers have begun demanding action to be taken by the regional ethnic governments. With largely agricultural-based economies, it is only a matter of time before resources run low for these states. Despite requests made to neighbouring countries for support, there has been a telling lack of response thus far.
This crisis affects Rakhine state the most, as 95% of Rakhine State is under the poverty line.

1 June 2022
The MNDAA and AA have expanded their area of control to occupy all of Yangon state, pushing the Tatmadaw back to Bago. Mediated via an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, the United States has redirected its fleet to taxi the waters of the Indian Ocean, while the French naval craft have been surrendered back to French forces.
Rohingya refugees from Chin camps have, in turn, displaced disordered Chin citizens, the latter of which have largely fled over the border to Mizoram State. Pu Zing Cung has sought asylum in Kachin, while Salai Isaac Khen reportedly took the first train to New Delhi, where he aims to launch a Chin Diaspora Network.
China's PLA has occupied the Wa capital, deposing of Bao Youxiang's government and extraditing him to Beijing. Bao, however, has managed a slippery escape, and was last seen on the streets of Hong Kong, asking tourists if they'd like to sign a ceasefire treaty.
Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Thanh has migrated to Thailand, where his national tour is expected to gross over US$50 million.
Yee Mon, Pu Zing Cung, Lway Poe, and remaining NUG ministers, looking back at the last year's progress, say, hey, let's build some more refugee camps.

Ramifications ?
13 April 2022
For his crimes and misconduct, both Pu Zing Cung, Attorney-General of the NUG, and formerly detained Lway Poe, now Joint Minister for Justice, have denounced Tar Aik Bong's leadership and declared orders for his arrest. Yet, there has been no move to instate the NUG's commands. Lway Poe has proposed another bounty, now of 10 million kyat, for his arrest.

Maritime Misconduct
2 April 2022
A joint assault by the MNDAA and AA has managed to break through the defences of the MNLA and take control of the ports of Yangon. The MNLA-controlled French warships are stalled some clicks away from the ports.
The U.S. fleet is about two days away from reaching Yangon.

Who? What? Where? What? Why?
29 March 2022
Palaung citizens awoke this morning feeling sleepy and dazed as an intoxicating vapour settled over the Self-Administered Zone. With no news from the local newspaper, many chose to stay in their homes for the day.
Deep in the Ta'ang jungle, however, a flurry of gunshots and grenades flung from an offensive by the Unified Militia pelted a Ta'ang prison. Caught off-guard, the TNLA still managed to hold them at a distance from the prison.
In the chaos, A Wa Army officer and bribed prison wardens assisting him raided the cells of Lway Poe and Pang Fa, only to find them deserted.
One single figure emerged – Aung San Suu Kyi, dressed as a TNLA soldier. She was last being escorted into a car, which the Wa officer then drove off in.

TAN AIK BONG CAPTURED!
18 March 2022
Pu Zing Cung has indicted TAN AIK BONG on charges of collusion, embezzlement and wrongful imprisonment. Having released a bounty for his capture and extradition to Chin State, a man was delivered within two days to Fort White Base.
Reports say he was tortured by the Chin for a day before they realised he was not, in fact, the commander of the TNLA. He was identified as a Wa citizen, and China has strongly condemned the Chin’s unlawful actions.
Contingents of the People’s Liberation Army have accumulated along Yunnan’s western frontier.

We Will Free Yangon
17 March 2022
Citizens of Yangon have overrun the palace, as news of warships docking at the ports have spurred renewed momentum amongst the Civil Disobedience Movement. They have welcomed the MNLA, who pledge to support their fight against the Tatmadaw:
–––––
"TO ALL MYANMAR
DO NOT RESIST. WE ARE THE MON NATIONAL LIBERATION ARMY. OUR MEN HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF FRENCH WARSHIPS, AND HAVE RECLAIMED THE YANGON PORTS.
THE TATMADAW HAVE RETREATED, AND WE HAVE ESTABLISHED OUR AREA OF CONTROL IN YANGON."
–––––
In other news, Defence Minister Yee Mon promotes Pu Zing Cung to 5-star General of the United Militia. In his capacity as Foreign Minister, Pu Zing Cung has alerted the French Government of the urgency of the matter, who have immediately responded. The U.S. Navy has mobilised a fleet from Changi Naval Base in Singapore, headed northward to Yangon to liberate stolen French ships.

LEAK: Aung San Suu Kyi found in TNLA Prison
1 March 2022
From classified sources, in the midst of the turmoil unfolding in the Palaung Self-Administered Zone, it has been leaked that State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi is detained in prisons guarded by the TNLA.
Citizens in Chin and Kachin are outraged at the news, claiming that the TNLA masqueraded as a staunch supporter of the federal movement while secretly accepting bribes from the junta.
Tatmadaw forces have been accumulating on Mandalay’s eastern frontier.

Chin State Divides
7 February 2022 Abusing his powers as the General Secretary of the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC), Pu Zing Cung has recently attempted to suspend Chairman Salai Isaac Khen from his duties, and take over as chairman himself.
This has resulted in unrest and internal mutiny, with half of the CSDF’s 1000 troops choosing to support Salai Isaac Khen, and the other half backing up Pu Zing Cung. The Chin State itself has also been divided in two, with Pu Zing Cung now having jurisdiction over Southern Chin State, and Salai Isaac Khen having control over the North. Civilians are divided over who to support, and most are choosing to not leave their homes.
Kachin has withdrawn their troops from Fort White Base, and increased recruitment into the KNA.

(Drug) War is Over~
7 February 2022
After much deliberation, the NUCC has taken action on the ongoing drug and Rohingya crisis.
Cheers were heard echoing through the streets of Kachin and Shan states as farmers were provided with payouts to pivot their farmlands away from drug production. The novelty of the tea exports, supposedly having medicinal properties due to its cultivation on soil that was previously used to grow opium, has been a huge hit overseas. Legislation has also been put into place to ensure the ban of opium in these states.
Dealing with the influx of Rohingya refugees into Chin state, the NUCC has publicised that shelters are to be constructed, and humanitarian aid is to be provided to them accordingly. Lastly, the establishment of military tribunals will help bring the perpetrators of the genocide to justice, much to the joy of Rohingyan refugees.
The NUG has also provided massive payouts to ethnic leaders, totalling over 4 million kyat.

Solid, Liquid, Gas, and Emergency
30 January 2022
Chin State, by directions from the ICNCC, is now under a state of emergency. All actions are under the control of the manpower-strapped CSDF, which is simultaneously being herded by generals to set up base in Fort White Base in Chin State, a new military installation created under the directions of Salai Isaac Khen. Refugees are disallowed from leaving their campsites.
Kachin State also imposed a state of emergency, though it suspended all military actions, and all remaining KIA troops are meeting Chin Forces at Fort White Base.

Say No to Drugs, But Yes to Refugees?
27 January 2022
Kachin State has pushed a strong ban on drugs, while Wa State has made progress on economic reform, boosting mining and agricultural industries while imposing fines on continued poppy cultivation. Wa has also launched health awareness campaigns for its citizens. But actions have limited consequences in other districts.
Refugee camps in Chin are packed to the brim with Rohingya refugees, and have been resulting in skirmishes between them and the locals. Many tell the refugees to “go back,” or find their own country. Kachin, Kayah and Mon State projects have made minor progress towards increasing refugee capacity.

Tar Aik Bong Rebukes Allegations
19 January 2022
"To the Ta’ang people, Ta’ang refugees, the TNLA, and the TUC, I am Tar Aik Bong. Today, I have received some disturbing, shocking, and even rage-inducing news. My two closest colleagues, two closest friends, of whom I have placed all my trust in, have betrayed my country and my people.
Lway Poe has been found to possess more than 100 million Kyats in laundered money, stolen from the Ta’ang people for his own personal gain. Pang Fa, whom I had saved from the treacherous jungles of our territory, has attempted to overthrow me. Both had plans to ally themselves with the Tatmadaw. I will never let this happen!
I have currently arrested them and have placed them under constant surveillance. They will be given a fair trial, as do all people within this land. My father, as well as all your fathers, died fighting the Tatmadaw. I will not let a traitor and a foreigner surrender ourselves to the Tatmadaw! I will take full control of the Ta’ang United Council as the sole chairperson, and I will take full responsibility for whatever position Pang Fa had within the SSPP from today onwards. I will not surrender to the Tatmadaw, and I will fight till the end! Glory to Ta’ang!

Ta’ang Goes Dark
6 January 2022
In a wave of new moves, the TNLA has officially struck down its conscription scheme. Soldiers of the TNLA have fortified the Palaung Self-Administered Zone, setting up temporary fences and tightening customs laws to prohibit the entry of firearms and drugs. Non-Ta’ang citizens face greater scepticism and screening when trying to enter the state, and refugees are being turned away.
External news outlets have been given orders to cease operations, and social media access was abruptly cut last night.
All military personnel are being rewarded with a generous bonus by Tar Aik Bong, and pledge their unyielding loyalty to him.
At last night’s military parade, Tar Aik Bong announces, “I will not stop fighting until Shan state is united under us, the glorious Ta’ang and the honourable Shan! Glory to TNLF!”
Under new orders given to the TNLA, they have been instructed to detain Chairwoman Lway Poe and General Pang Fa in protective custody.
The NUCC has lost communication from CSDF units in Sagaing.

China is Not Interested
18 December 2021
After news reached Beijing that 10,000 Wa soldiers, commanded by Defence Minister Yee Mon as part of the Combined Military Army, were ordered to face-off against the Tatmadaw in Kayah State, AND that drug abuse has become rampant among the UWSA, Yunnan has sent representatives to Wa State.
The UWSA has been instructed to back out of the unified federal army, and that it cannot take commands from the rebel government.
