the only photo on my blog that wasn't taken by me: taken by my mother to show me the hemlock back home after an ice storm.
#my parents are aging and it's a startling thing to notice all of a sudden.#i see it more now that i live far away. every time i visit or see a new photo there are new gray hairs; new lines & new sun-darkened marks.#my relationship with my parents is complicated and we honestly get along much better living far apart#but it's still bittersweet to see them growing old
