Brulo would rather run an ice cream parlor/arcade! I like to think that's what the Casino started as, waaaay back when Brulo was more naive and optimistic — Long before Anton and Annie were around.

... He still buys ice cream to make floats for himself, and maaaaybe offers them on the weekends he's feeling particularly chipper. He's a sucker for sweets, really.

He's a brat that lacks guidance, always running from himself. Though he has parental figures like DB & Peepaw, he doesn't have anyone to truly scold him like a parent would.

On purpose, of course. He'll dip from interactions if something trips off his 'trusted the wrong adult' alarm. He lives at a campsite with Tatl and Epona! It's isolated from the NPCs because he got tired of their routines... Similar to Flowey, but without the resentment.

BEN can't build meaningful relationships in his own world. He doesn't know what happens when he beats MM, but he knows he doesn't want to be a statue again. BEN knows what Link should be, and he knows that he can never live up to it.

He robbed Termina of their Hero and he's ... scared!

So he lashes out at anyone that'd recognize the situation he's in (like Grey and, only at first, Death! :P), meet his favorite characters because Oh my God that's Dancing Banana from the hit meme I saw before I died! and kiss his favorite Pokemon trainer on the lips because he played waaaaay too much G&S on the bus ...

Escape the eternity you're doomed to, forever tantalized by reality beyond the wires your of your soul. Pretend you're a fictional character now, it's fine.

So ... Pspspspsppsps at more people to scruff him and poke him. Just be warned he may scare you with his sword because he has "trusting adult strangers" trauma. But. Mun don't caaare.

Brulo is ... sober, and wants to stay that way. He has a flask whenever a patron asks to share a drink, joke he's hogging the good stuff ... But it's really just. Iced tea!

It's a bit ... embarrassing to admit, but I wasn't expecting my Brulo to be as popular as he is! So I never really wrote down my wishlist. >_>; But he's at his best when he's on the job — be it serving drinks or dealing cards. I wouldn't mind if more muses just came up to him looking to spill their woes.

He listens. Even if some patrons annoy him or he doesn't quite get the problem, he listens.

As for BEN ... To be honest, I haven't tied his portrayal to Zelda lore enough. The way Vetra writes Gold really opened up my eyes to all the possibilities! What with Gold's killer, the everything with shadow Pokemon in general ... I've literally owned Hyrule Historia this entire time. am I stupid.

UGH. THERE'S EVEN MOOOORE NOW THAT I'VE SEEN SONIC 3. So much of Gerald in that film reminded me of my own Eggman ... It's got me reconstructing his entire muse in the background, yknow?

Humans, technicolor anthropomorphic creatures ... they're all ignorant and outdated. He doesn't understand the value of a relationship, and fails to appreciate the ones that he has. I want to write his moments of isolation more, because that's the kind of bitter man he is under all the manic theatrics.

He's the only one who is right about everything ever on Mobius, basically. And those who don't believe in him aren't worth his time.

... Buuuuuuuuuut Sage has proven to be a wake-up call.

✍ Favorite thing about writing the muse?

I get to look at all the pretty art she's been getting recently after years of drought Honestly? The fact that she's a fresh take on an old fave. I've been writing Amy since 2017! She bullied mr. badnikcreator over there! But she shone too bright, and I burned out.

Amy's always been a deeply personal character to me. Her muse predates my autism diagnosis! She was a way for me to vent-but-not-really-vent about being undiagnosed my then entire life.

So it really, really made me sad when I lost that. I think, partially, it was because I wrote the same character for so long. But the other part was ... I was too embarrassed to write her again after weasel-related incidents.

... But! Then I saw how quick the fandom was to accept this silly little hedgehog girl into the fanon and felt SO WARM. Not just the wholesome dynamic of it. I think it gave me like ... quiet permission to be myself again?

... And, come on, while writing Anton and Amy together was inevitable for us — I know you were doing FLIPS when you realized I was bringing her back as an AntonBlast character. Even moreso, now that I've played through the damn game! It's been so much FUN giving her the slight bite that wasn't there before Anton's influence; it completely changed how I write her!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a LONG list of people to say ' I told you so ' to...

Sure, he MAY have made deep bonds with other actors he'll never see again, got a bouquet or two, and earned the respect of every thespian that resided in Boiler City, but ...

For all the good MB promised him, the months spent tirelessly preparing for a singular role were enough to dissuade the handyman. To make matters worse, the Boiler City Community Theatre only had enough money to put the show on for a single weekend!

Something about "the crew" needing to be paid too; a sentiment he'd understand if his efforts weren't washed down the drain so fast.

Y'know ... Nina was right! Sometimes, he does work too hard. Danton stumbled over to their coffee pod machine and rubbed his drowsy eyes. He had a 10 hour shift yesterday, the last of his construction work for Brulo, and it left his body sore.

With their bath filling in the distance, he prepared for a nice hour of ... not existing in a hot tub with a nice cup of coffee. Maybe he should use those bath bombs Nina bought ... He smiled lazily at the thought.

Maybe today was the day he could have a moment of peace.

Something crunches beneath his soles. Brulo stared down at his feet, then awkwardly out to the small, nosy crowd that gathered in front of the bar. Waving them off, he grabbed his supplies and began to sweep. That's another cup he won't be able to replace ... He'd get plastic if he didn't care about some standards.

❝ I guess seein' Danton and Nina's new business venture has just ... Made me rethink some things, is all... ❞ He disposed of the glass shards, cursing under his breath at a small cut. What attempt was he on? What had he done — what could he do to bring Luci back in his life?

Was it finally time ... to move on? No, no he's too old to be dating again ...

❝ ... I mean. She did like th'toast, so ... ❞

He's gonna be muttering to himself for a while.
