genuinely loving things has become cringe and fandoms have been made fun of and called cringe for long enough now that everyone i know is going to basically apologize before engaging in any behavior that could be considered fandom-like

because even if theyve mostly gotten over the idea of being cringe they still recognize how annoying and weird that behavior seems to some people, and therefore maybe even the people they surround themselves with feel like that (people are not above being in one fandom and then deciding another fandom is weird snd cringe)
