Last night I wrote about my experiences where individuals didn’t keep appointments. I apologize. I was tired when writing and wasn’t very clear. My experiences of which I spoke spanned over the last year of dating. I have been very spoiled to be dating an individual that is exceptionally good at communicating lately.

However, as I am still in the process of dating and learning I have been talking with others who in our conversations remind me of those negative experiences. Usually, my logical and emotional sides reason well together to make solid decisions. I am working to be open to listening to my intuition. ☺️ It takes practice.

A friend shared a great thought with me today…

A friend who understands your tears is much more valuable than a lot of friends who only know your smile….

I feel spoiled to have such friends… friends that listen, walk with me, and when appropriate laugh at me… I know some tears are just silly. But most importantly, they know and love ME as I am.

One of my best friends has been married for 20 years this month. They have a unique relationship from that which I experienced growing up. His wife is often still afraid that when she goes on a trip, her partner will be gone upon her return… Whether from death or choosing another.

I understand this fear. I find I have it at times for those whom I care deeply. Fifteen years ago my world was rocked at the loss of my cousin. I know everything happens for a reason and that it all is as it should be in addition to that his energy and love is still with me. However, I find that fear of loss sneaks in from time to time.

My friend understands his wife’s fear and patiently reminds her he will always be there as well as shows her consistency. He is patient with me as well….and has helped me learn to laugh and accept these things about myself as I experience life.

I am grateful for birthdays and holidays as they draw family and friends together. Today I actually got to go swimming with my bug… usually I have to work, so miss out on the laughter and sun, but not today! 😎

I would like to uninvite the mosquitoes to the party…they think I am delicious. 😐

One of my favorite people hit it on the head today when he said I need to learn patience… He was speaking of bacon.. but it is applicable in all areas of life. He didn’t realize how applicable his suggestion was.

Today is my favorite cousin’s birthday…he has been gone now for 15 years. I miss him daily and appreciate his influence in my life.

I really love bacon… Who doesn’t?? But these people for whom i care….it is an exercise of patience and trust to not be in their physical presence for me. I know they are where they should be and not really gone… But still.

On special days like today, I try to honor them by doing things they would do if they were here. So I get to build beautiful memories instead of just missing those for whom i care.
