Readers on the River
*drum roll* The final book part of Readers on the River! Readers on the River took place over two days. I found out it is actually biannual, versus annual. So the next time it’ll occur will be 2025. Continue reading Readers on the River

Refilling My Creative Well
May was a blur. It was crunch time for my job’s big annual event that I played a key and significant role in. On the last day of May, the event occurred and my parts hit their mark. I was publicly acknowledged for the work I’d done. That weekend, my local Books-A-Million hosted an event called The Wedding Expo, an event featuring Bloom Books romance authors. It was so fun and unique, enough so…

BreyerFest Best of Customs
BreyerFest is *very soon*. A precursor to all the fun revolves around the various contest unveilings. The diorama contest submission deadline was last week. The entries are amazing this year. They always are, but this year’s entries seem to have dialed it up a notch in creativity and execution. A few weeks ago, the BreyerFest Best of Customs entries were due. This premier contest is judged by…

Yarah
Josine Vingerling sculpts such expressive horses. When she announced her Yarah resin in January, I decided I wanted to add her to my resin herd. I waited a few months for my spot in casting and then she arrived!! She’s a beautiful traditional Arab mare. Color plans? 🤷🏾♀️

The Book Loft
Pennsylvania wasn’t the only place we stopped for books. The route we took led us to Ohio. And that’s where we ended up at The Book Loft. It’s located in Columbus, Ohio and opened in 1977. Continue reading The Book Loft

Tator? Tator.
When Cowboy Tator was announced I thought he was such a nice vision of a QH. I decided to try to get drawn during the last round. To my surprise I was picked! He arrived and I’m so happy I was drawn. This is one of a few different mane versions that will be released. He reminds me so much of the horses I watched at the ranch horse show. I don’t currently have plans for colors or anything of…

Completely Booked
The first indie bookstore we stopped at was Completely Booked. It’s located in Murraysvolle and is in a plaza. It was a small and adorable indie bookstore. It was packed with many genres on its shelves. Sections were divided with an array of books. I love to see the different decorations bookstores stage around the space. This was a fun place to begin the bookstore tour! I left with a copy…

Twin Brooks Ranch Horse Show
As always, performance showers and tack/doll makers, feel free to use any of my photos for documentation! (Please send me photos of any model sized setups!) It’s been a minute since I’ve been to a horse show. I’m lucky enough to live maybe ten minutes from Twin Brooks Horse Showing Association where various horse shows are held from spring to the beginning of fall. I’ve wanted to see a ranch…

Journey To The 2023 Pittsburgh Zoo Asian Lantern Festival
In the evening of our Pittsburgh stop, we bought tickets to see the Pittsburgh Zoo Asian Lantern Festival. I was excited to see this–a few years ago Sam and I had gone to a sky lantern festival. The last time I went was in 2019–and during the day. On the drive to the zoo, there was a beautiful rainbow. Continue reading Journey To The 2023 Pittsburgh Zoo Asian Lantern Festival

March Reading Wrap-Up
In March, I read or listened to a few books. Here they are! It was an audiobook-heavy month. It isn’t because of a lack of physical books *stares at the mountain of books that will one day crush me.* I listen to books through Libro.fm. They’re fantastic and I’ve loved watching the company grow since its inception. They’re a nice alternative to Audible because you can choose an indie bookstore to…

Readers On The River: Overview
I love book events. They’re one of my favorite things. I was invited to go to Readers On The River when a friend could no longer attend. It was close, so I quickly figured out how I could go. I’m so glad I did. Readers on the River takes place annually in Louisville, Kentucky, and is the brain child of J.R. Ward. It’s a two-day reader event that has panels, parties, a luncheon with J.R. Ward,…
