summer is slumped, nearly boneless, against the trunk of a pine, dappled shade casting patterns along her upturned face. she doesn’t think she’s had to expel this much energy in decades. it’s a weird feeling. she’s still figuring out how it feels. ( good, mostly, like stretching muscles -- like opening a window in a dark room. ) ‘ i don’t know about you, but i could go for a power nap right now. ’ her head tips, angles to the side, gaze slanting along with it, to look catalyst over. the outpost nearby is still empty-- cleared and cleaned, barring the bodies-- but it’ll only be a matter of minutes before the bite of tires echo along the gravel.

‘ we did pretty good. ’
