The reason I don't like "I'm not your last, I'm your first" is because it perpetuates this very common idea that you have to have a ton of experience in order to know what you want. I'm not judging the people to whom this sexual ethic applies, I'm just tired of being told it's the only correct way to experience relationships and sex. It alienates the people who have thriving, lasting relationships with the first person they date or the first person they have sex with. Notwithstanding that Tommy isn't Buck's first, just his first man, and I don't really see why that makes a difference.

this show is really trying to pretend like Tommy, who we've seen check in with Buck multiple times about whether he's okay with things, would have just... spent six months not having a single conversation about their relationship? would have just gone merrily along for 26 weeks fluffing his boyfriend's pillows and putting on a suit to go to a mummy's funeral and buying an anniversary present and at no point during that time saying hey, where do you see this going? would have spent 180 days thinking he was in a relationship with an expiration date? does he think he's so unworthy of something real? why would you show us a broken man and then not let us see him heal?
what a fucking waste

I just recently rewatched the Marvel movies and decided to draw my favorite ship, because I didn't have the courage to do it before.

They really were falling in love. I don't care what anyone says. Sorry Oliver, I respect that you want Buck to have a slut era, but to ME, Tommy will always be his "one that got away" so have fun, babe, try not to think about the hollowness in your chest too much while you're out there fucking your way through Los Angeles, the very thing you said you didn't want to do again.

the open-ended and abrupt nature of their breakup is haunting, actually. it’s what makes things so difficult to process because they both want each other so much. they see a future with each other. but tommy didn’t let himself have that and buck didn’t get up and fight for it in that moment. but they want it. they want each other. that’s how it left off. with both of them wanting more with, possibly everything, with each other. the narrative didn’t conclude their relationship. it didn’t kill their relationship. it only left the possibility for more, and the more could be so fucking good, and that’s what hurts.

It’s not even the end of bucktommy, but the seven (and a half) seasons of Buck being left behind that just made the ending a little hard to swallow. It’s heart-breaking (and a little old) to watch one of Buck’s biggest insecurities play out yet again. I think it would have meant more if Buck had finally found himself in a place where he had to be the one to leave, but in a way that says I’m comfortable and confident in myself and what I want and what will make me happy and I am able to reach out for it and hold it in my hands without it shattering.

Ok just came back from that Hollywood Reporter article and I think it is a wrap on Bucktommy unfortunately.
Considering the pretty glaring sudden change in direction I'm willing to bet Lou didn't want to deal with death threats for the next 2-3 years and decided to call it quits which is 100% justified.
The fact is it's kind of been made clear Buddie isn't happening either, and Oliver said in the interview the rest of the season Buck will be on uncle duty and by the looks of it learning to bake or something, so it's a no on a developing new romance too.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the OTP for Buck will end up being that hamster wheel, because no actor will sign up for a hate campaign for a guest spot on network tv and they won't make the ship cannon just because the fandom is holding the characters hostage.
At least Bucktommy left some real good fics.

I hope someone does an interview with Tim and asks him to explain. Like was it a last minute thing they had to do? Did Lou get a better job elsewhere? Was it not worth the death threats? Was it literally just a decision they made for the show? Why’d they write 805 with so much Lou? Why’d they intertwine him with Eddie? Why did it matter to have Buck date a first responder who “understood the job?”

All I have to say is that I can see the storyline going in two directions. Either A Buck decides to do the chasing after a relationship dissolves for the first time and finally a love interest sticks, or B they introduce the new one during the season while he alone figures out what went wrong.
I just don't think it can be any clearer after today that Buddie is not happening, like when someone tells you who they are BELIEVE THEM. Tim could not have chosen to spell it out for the audience any clearer and any one who thinks the writing is doing some 4D chess to actually confirm his homosexuality then you must be watching a different show on a different network from a different creator.

Did some Warframe fanart! Wisp and a couple versions of Heirloom Ember, specifically. I'm still getting used to drawing Warframe stuff, that kind of design is far outside of my comfort zone, haha!
