Kitchen cinema night. We watched a 16mm print of The Grapes of Wrath (1940) I’ve had for fifteen years… yet had never watched. A beautiful film. Henry Fonda’s face haunts me.

We preceded that with the first Fleischer Superman (1941) cartoon.

it was interesting googling parts of Grapes of Wrath before finishing the whole book cause i wound up lookin up Jim Casy and one website pointed out he’s a Christ figure (he even has the JC initials lol)  and i was like really?? and then i got to the part where he died and i was like oh. yeah he is a Christ figure lol
